Both camera and camcorder are having problems, but the camcorder (stock and lg camera) does not work at all.
Front camera: black screen
Back camera: nothing happens when record button is pushed, display locks on image.
video files are generated, but 0 bites.
Can't change resolution (locked on 1280 by 720), wanted to see if would work at 480
camera log has not worked for last 5 days.
Have cleared cache and dalvik several times, no change.
have backed up, factory reset, restore, no help.
Have also followed OP instructions to use stock camera, clear data, then set lock screen delay to zero, no help.
OP reports that both camera and camcorder work.
Any suggestions?

Have not, lst ROM after downgrade from 2.3.4 to 2.3.3. Everything worked OK until I flashed this ROM and Kernel. Everything on new ROM CM9.1 works well except described camera problems.
try a rom like arhd or vipers

i am a newbee here.
my camera doesnt work in all modes. it only works in continuous shooting mode and panorama mode. well it stores a 0byte jpg file for everytime i try to capture a photo in other shooting modes. video recording works perfectly. tried flashing to stock rom two or three times, but wont fix the issue. pls not wen i bought the phone camera works fine. this is happenning after i installed a custom rom(themyth beta2)
for the first time.
i used this quick test menu code "*#7353#" and camera result is camera failed after it bursts flash and the shutter sound..
pls help me.
could it be a hardwre problem, if so can i take it to samsung service centre. it says warranty is till 2013?
Maybe a hardware problem. Try to take it to samsung service centre, but don't tell him that you flashed a rom.

You could try to unroot your phone after taking to the service, just in case
just flash stock rom via odin
i have tried flashing to stock rom with odin twice. but no improvement
videos working means that ur camera is working. try flashing other custom roms and wipe data/cache/dalvik.

Hey guys I'm having a problem with the camera app, when I open it I just freezes my phone when it tries to focus... I can see the image but when I touch the screen the touch just doesn't respond anymore... I've tried reflashing the rom. Full wipe + reflash still can't help it. I tried clearing the camera app data as well + restore the camera app from titanium backup
Just happened very recently the camera was working fine the day before...

Edit: 3rd party camera apps are working fine only the stock camera is bugged
hi all, i'm experiencing a weird problem with my camera:
on fxp (from 210 to 212) only main camera runs, when i try to switch to secondary it stops and ask if i want to kill the app, if i say yes and restart camera it says "unable to connect to camera" untill i reboot my xperia U
after that i tried with stock sony fws: the stock camera app never runs, while others (eg: pudding camera, camera fx) runs, but only with main camera...
i have also relocked bl in order to test again stock fw but without results...
any idea?

When I use Quick Shot/Launch camera - sometimes i get a message 'Error! Camera not available'
The problem is ONLY when I use Quick Shot/Launch on locked screen. When I normaly turn on camera, by using 'Camera' app from menu, everything is ok:

I've tried repair phone by PCC but it does't fix my problem (or install fw Generic World or Central Europe).

I tested Quick launch in Safe mode. And what?
Everything works perfect!
There must be a process which can't run the camera in quick launch (I have not installed anything apps using camera).

may be your camera need clear data....this not bug because my camera work perfect on me..just video record full hd still a little lag on this version..

I tried to clear data, reinstall software many times... anything doesn't fix my problem.
Finally I found the solution - I have installed JB MoonBreaker v3 (test) from this post:

Everything was ok, so I thought 'I have a warranty to my phone so I have to back to stock firmware .100'
After flashing the firmware by flashtool, resetting to the factory defaults, problems came back
I'm sure that is not a hardware problem - only software must have a bug.

my last opinion for your issue maybe you can try to re-download ftf file fw 100, because on me camera work fine..

What do you mean, saying 'camera'?? When you choose 'Camera' from menu?? Or choosing Quick Launch on locked screen?
Camera - from menu always works fine for me, but Quick Launch - not always...
I downloaded .100 Generic World and problem still persists (earlier I had .100 CE).
Hello everyone! I've been dealing with this problem for so long and I hope you can help me solving it.
All of a sudden the rear camera of my LeTv Le Max 2 stopped working about a month ago. In that moment, I was using a custom ROM (AOSiP) and the TWRP recovery. It was just the rear camera that stopped working, because the front one was working fine.
I already tried several ways to fix it that I found on internet, such as deleting cache and app data, installing other camera apps, factory reset, flashing new ROMs, flashing one of the Stock ROMs, flashing GApps again... nothing, still doesn't work.
Now I have LineageOS 16.0 and everything works, exception made for the rear camera. Every camera app doesn't even show the button to switch from front camera to rear camera and Google Camera crashes as soon as I open it.
What can I do?

Heyyo, hmm this sounds serious! I would recommend backing up everything important off of your x2 and trying QFIL.
