[Q] Are Samsung device bootloaders always unlocked? - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

I noticed that flashing CM ROM on this is effortless while doing so on a phone is so troublesome with unlocking bootloaders and such. Do all Samsung devices come with bootloaders unlocked?

Does that mean they share the same security risks as a phone with an unlocked booloader?

HTC Dev unlock?

What are the downsides of using this to root, other than warranty issues? Will anything prevent me from s off in the future? I've never used this method before.

If s-off is achieved, there will not be a problem for you. Just don't accept an OTA, and you'll be good.
So dev unlock keeps the s-on yet allows us to flash recovery and roms?

You'll love being unlocked and all the custom ROM choices you now have. Congrats.

which player do you have 3.6, 4.0, 4.2, 5.0? the root methods vary depending on the player, also is it the US (all capacitive keys) or International (physical home button) as this can also effect rooting method.
If you have 2.3.6 you cant root..you will have to flash custom kernel to unlock and then root

No need for those words. I suggest you try RJ's Kernel. It's rooted, and it works for me. More like 2-in-1 so you can have a new kernel and also a rooted device. Good luck!

dude if you don't have any clue the difference between rooting and a kernel then maybe you shouldn't be doing anything to your player at all, so don't get all pissed off when someone tells you to use google.

It's not truly unlocked either. Just has an exploit to bypass it so to speak.
If you have anything post mdk you are truly locked up and SafeStrap is your only option.
