[Q] recovery ics xperia go - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hello,
My xperia GO is rooted (Root MANY ANDROID script) its very easy and its working very good. I was able to deinstall system apps i dont use. On the mobiles i had before (mostly HTC) i always installed Clockword recovery. I read the thread in the xperia go forum but I am al little confused. Maybe someone can point me to a manual for a recovery for ICS. Or can give the steps to install the recovery.
thanks,

Well I'm using the ROM of which you've listed in the second link. Here are some tips and see if they help:
1. Make sure you have the latest SE firmware (2.1.1.A.0.6 and baseband version: 53404015) Do this by checking software updates with SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service)
2. Ensure you've got the right Xrecovery version. Download and unpack and flash THE ONE BUILT FOR THE MINI PRO or else some features in xrecovery may not work or even brick your device.
3.Remember to wipe Dalvik Cache and do a factory reset in xrecovery BEFORE you install any of these ROMs.
4. You may also wipe battery stats before you install the ROM, but I don't think this is essential.
The install should be flawless if you follow every of the steps listed by the devs who developed the ROM, and take these steps above only as an advice...I'm not responsable for bricking your lovely phone...
Enjoy CyanogenMod experience after the install!
thanks man (are you God), the system is already running. and do not know yet how I doninstalovat patches on the keyboard backlight, GPS and camera?
assuming you want to install apps:
Market or apk's or *.zip files (which you can install with xrecovery)
I mean, I do not install the latest 3 hotfixes for this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041099
A try install by Xrecover, but without changes......

Rooted my sony xperia neo -v but cant isntall rom

hi guys.,
ive managed to root my fone./
'now it is
4.0.3
4.1.a.0.562
i have rooted my fone. i can see superuser also.
what i did next was placing the rom in my sd card. and then i installed rom manager fromthe android market.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=16039190 this is the rom i downlaoded.
i rebooted my phone and went to the recovery console and chose to install the rom,
did it. restarted the phone and it hung at the sony logo.
I think the rom you try to install is not compatible with "Rom Manager" instead you had to try CWM, but Now you should repair your phone using SEUS to recover the original rom, and then root it again, install CWM and then you may try your custom Rom, one more thing to note, if the custom rom required any specific kernel, then you have to install the custom kernel 1st.
any other rom which is simple to test on the neo -v?
is there any rom that u can recomemd that i can just dump into my sd card and use it to test for the tiume being?
as in. ..
i download the rom..
i reboot the phome to recovery mode.
then i choose the zip file to install and thats all about it
i just wanna get tryu to see if it works.
i dont understand this kernal stuff.

[Q] Boot problem when installing Smultronic 5.0 on Xperia Mini

Hey guys,
actually I didn't want to create a thread for this as I thought I might resolve it myself or that I'll find the answer elsewhere.. But after 5 attempts with each different methods, I don't know what to try anymore.
I have the Xperia MIni (st15) and I want to try the Smultronic ROM. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796272). My attempts looked like this:
I flashed the ICS .587 stock ROM via Flashtool to get a clean thing to start with (including full wipe)
I root by flashing the .562 kernel, run the Doomlord script to gain root access and reflash the .587 stock kernel
I install CWM (xparts or cwm-install script, both works and doesn't make any difference)
I choose the smultronic 5.0 ".zip" in CWM (no wipe) and follow the instructions in Aroma installer. (Unlocked Bootloader chosen, as I have one).
The installation finishes successfully after a few seconds (!) and I am proposed to reboot.
The result of this is that my phone will get stuck at the SONY screen (>20 min.), which up to my knowledge means that there is no boot process for a ROM, just the bootloader showing it is alive.
I tried a bunch of things, like starting from a "used" stock ROM, fully wipe the system (+Dalvik) before starting the installation or choosing another Recovery installation method. No problem to recover any stock rom, but Smultronic still don't want to start when I try the above again.
I really feel a bit stupid, as this ROM is actually made for my particular device, and I don't manage to install it. Anyone finds the error?
Thanks a lot.

If your bootloader is unlocked, why are you using xparts to install cwm instead of a custom kernel?
To your problem, boot in cwm, do the wipe data/factory reset, install the rom, reboot and see what happens. If it's not working, flash another custom kernel or download an older version of the rom...

[Q] Xperia P: Unable to reboot into recovery

Hi all,
I recently installed the honami moonloader v5.5 for my Xperia P after following all the necessary steps to root the phone and flashing CWM. Recently came across another ROM called xperia_fidelity_JB and thought of giving it a try as well. Made a nandroid backup before trying the fidelity ROM. After successful installation, things seemed to be working fine, but the contacts keep crashing always. So I decided to restore back to the honami moonloader. But now I am not able to reboot to recovery though the option is visible in the shut down menu. I have tried the manual method too but to no avail.
Can anyone pls tell me what have i done wrong and how can i correct it? Appreciate all the help...
Cheers...
Saurav

[Q] Rooted - or not

Hello to everyone
I am the proud owner of a galaxy S3 - i9300 since couple of days (got s2 before) and I would like to install a custom rom. Right now it is official JB. So first I tried to follow the guide from here the galaxys3root.com - galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s3-jelly-bean-or-ics
I finished installing, everything said ok but SuperSU said "“There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!”. However I was able to enter recovery mode and see that cwm was installed. I repeated the procedure - same result. I tried using the CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md5, it said ok, finished, all green but again i had no root access (cwm still there, root checker said no root and supersu dissappeared).
The ultimate goal for me is to install CM11 rom with kitkat. So please clear some things for me (almost beginner level):
1. do i really need root from now on?
2. can i just reboot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset and install ROM? (all from the device, no odin)
3. is it a better solution to flash stock firmware through odin and start rooting all over again ?
4. Why don't I have root access since I followed all the indicated steps?
One detail that might matter is that now my cwm is version 5.5.0.4 CF v.1.5
Thank you for any help (and again, beginner+1 language please)
Visit CM and CF autoroot site you will find the answer to your questions.
All you need to install CM is recovery, so if you can get into that you are golden and don't need root on your current rom because its going to be over written with CM anyway
Thank you for your replies!
IOU-1, I did some research over the internet and I still do but I'm looking for some straight-on answers right now.
Darke5tShad0w, thanks for your help - right now I have cwm 5.5.0.4 - can you point me towards how to update to newer one? (I cannot do it through play store since I don't have root access).
Ok, I've found the cwm update: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2052091 I think this should work.

Try this since your goal is to install CM-ROM http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/CyanogenMod_Installer
Sorry I dont have alot of time today to be able to find you a link for the updated version.
Few things you can do here,
Use the link IOU-1 posted, I forgot about this yesterday then update CWM with rom manager
Try to flash cm with current CWM, if it works update it with rom manager
Search the forums and find the correct cwm post and update manually
Ok, thanks to everyone for their answers.
I fixed it and I'll say how so anyone in my position will do the same.
As a reminder, I tried to root but all I succeded to do is get cwm installed but no root (so no rom manager or any other root app installed).
What i did was to update cwm manually from within it, with zip install from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2052091
After that I simply installed CM11 - zip install - and now I have root and everything is running smoothly.
Again thanks - and good luck to all.
