ATT Locker using a big portion of my battery? - AT&T LG Optimus G

I've never even touched the icon for this app and somehow it is using 9% battery. How do I stop this?

Menu>Manage Apps then go to the app(s) and select disable.
Or freeze it with Titanium Backup (paid version).

Last night I had 80% battery and seven hours later I have 15 without touching the phone and also I had disabled a few syncs. How is that possible? Also, no matter how much I try to disable ATT locker, it stays running and this time accounts for 12% of my battery use.

Root your OG, install Titanium Backup for Root, run it and UNINSTALL ALL CRAP AT&T apps. They spy on you: All the more reason to nuke ATT apps.
Better yet, unlock the bootloader, install CWM and install Nottach's Base ROM--he's done all the hard work of cleaning the stock ATT ROM for you.

I agree with everyone else. I was having the same problem. Rooted and installed Titanium Backup, then froze every ATT app. No issues now.

Does rooting affect my warranty? Can I unroot anytime? Does this affect my apps that I've purchased from Google Play?

Rooting generally voids your warranty. You can unroot at any time.

The display, will likely be the majority of your battery use, but if you really want to study what your phone is doing. You can use CPU Spy from the market, which will tell you how much time it spends sleeping, and how much time it spends at certain clockspeeds. Spare Parts is also a useful tool for checking to see how much battery is used up by specific applications. Another thing to look at is your wallpaper....I've seen in the past where certain live wallpapers, will continue to run while the screen is off and keep the phone awake.
Ive read some people have had wake issues after flashing another kernel, are you on stock or something like netarchy?
The screen being at that percentage doesn't mean it's not sleeping. The display always takes the most power. Compare your up time and your awake time. If they're the same or close, your phone isn't sleeping. Make sure your phone has been on for a day or so. The more time in the counters, the more accurate.

My phone isn't sleeping as well. It started when I upgraded from SteelRom v 1.01 to 1.02. Since then I've downgraded back to 1.01, tried different backups I've had, wiped cache and no avail. Not sure what to do next. I haven't checked Spare Parts though, I'll check that after I'm done backing up my apps (just in case of a fresh install of a ROM is needed)
I also had wakelock a few times on a stock, unrooted ROM before S-OFF was even available. I had to do a factory reset to fix it.

Try wiping Dalvik, and cache and flashing a different kernel.

Turns out it was an app. Either Titanium Backup or MyBackup Root. Go figure. I believe it was MyBackup root though, I didn't install TB until this morning after the wakelock started. Maybe with the ROM upgrade via flashing messed the app up. I bet a reinstall of the app would have fixed it.
Just flashed viperrom. Hopefully its fixed.

Phone freezes/lockups up, I restart and then battery drops 15+%

Title pretty much says it all. I have a stock, i777 running on 2.3.6 and yesterday out of the blue, the phone would lock up (not respond to any touches on the screen, the power button or the volume rocker) so I would pull the battery out and restart it. When I did, the battery would drop off like 15%.
I did a search but didn't find any relevant issues. Many people simply complained about battery drops after regular restarts, not after freezes.
Would greatly appreciate some help!
Same thing, it has to do with the fuel guage of the phone

I hate when that happens. Is there anything to do? I'll go from like 85% to 10 after a crash. Does that fubar the battery? Cause it does charge all over again

U didn't say whether u were rooted or not. So I'm assuming you aren't? Which means screen lock ups aren't from undervolting?

Read this and see if it helps..Entropy explains why the battery gets crazy after a reboot. I would assume it would be the same if you had to pull the battery, the gauge i guess would still get reset.

I said I was stock in the first post. Is there something else you need to know? Just to clarify, I haven't modded/rooted/etc. Still on stock 2.3.6 w/ Touchwiz.
The battery issue isn't the major issue, it's the freezing of the phone multiple times a day. Is there a diagnostic tool I can use that will show a log of the processes that were running when the phone froze? That could help me narrow down the issue.

I think you can avoid the battery level glitch by plugging in a charger before you reboot.
Maybe the freezes are being caused by a rogue app. I can't remember what the app is called at the moment, but there is one app that monitors cpu usage and can warn you if an app is using too much cpu time.
Watchdog and betterbatterystats. Yes u can monitor apps. But I wouldn't think an app would just start doing that out of the blue. Hmm. Its really hard to tell ya what to do if you aren't even rooted, may wanna think about doing that. Opens up a lot more options for fixing / monitoring.

Restarts are a [email protected] on battery. Every system app hits at same time. The way charge stays in batt. Anything under about half on batt charge...it will seem to drain quicker. Its the chemical makeup of batt that does it. Think of bubbles in soda bottle... More full bottle more fizz more bang. Less soda... Less bang.... And flat. Keep off any widgets ....they tap batt constantly as well as data...which hits batt. Ahh Physics and Chemistry, love it.

I don't think the sudden drop in battery is anything to worry about. My phone does that but the battery level slowly gets higher over time without charging. The actual charge level in the battery doesn't change.
Had the same exact thing happen sort of mine would heat up, freeze, then shut off, restart all by itself but it would hard reset. So my question is, Is it a brand new device or refeb? I got a referb and had the same thing at first it would freeze then after a while it would start heating up then resetting itself. So call warranty dept and ask for a replacement device and not a new battery.

Is my battery life normal?

I installed ICS did a wipe as this is supposed to improve things but battery life is awful. I only get about 9hrs with moderate use, I took it of the charger at 6am this morning, Had to put it back on around lunchtime and now at 8pm its at 20% and this is with battery saving on.

Try RootBox with Dark Knight.. best combo for me.. you'll easily double your battery life
Another option is Slim ICS, very lightweight and battery friendly. Try some of the suggestions, each for a few days to allow for a couple of full battery cycles to take place. You can then make an informed decision about your daily ROM choice.

OK last night I let the phone go flat, removed the battery, put it back in and charged it when off. Phone has now just turned off flat.
Off charger at 9am this morning
Through out the day checked twitter a couple of times amounting to about 3 mins total.
Synced email 3 times.
Made a 2 min phone call
Used 3G for about 4 mins
Flashed back to GB via Odin.
Its now 6.30pm, phone turned off at 6pm, now today was actually very light use and I got 9 hrs before it died, On my old 4s with this type of use i'd still be at least 70% full.
...
A few tips and tricks Ive found....
- When you install a new ROM, go into recovery (Home, Vol Up, Pwr) Clear Data/ Factory Reset > Clear Cache > Reboot.. In that order.
- When you first set up WiFi on your phone, Dont install Apps you dont use from Google Play, as these can run in the background.. using battery life.. Just because Google Recommend them for your phone, donesnt mean you have to install them.
- Dont be tempted to register every single email address you have to Social Hub.
- If your a "update over WiFi" person, set phone to "GSM only", instead of "WCDMA/GSM Auto", also turn off "Mobile Data" in Settings..
- If your not running twitter, email checks, updating weather all day, turn off "Account Sync" in Settings and set your email accounts to "Never" check for emails.
- Try switching to a different launcher. Touchwiz 4 is very resource intensive, try moving to Go Launcher or ADW or another one.. theres loads of advice on here and the webn about launchers, but for me Personnally, I like Go, but thats me.
2 Im not sure about, so some more in the know people here can advise please:
- In Settings > Display check ON, Auto Adjust Screen Power, but Im not convinced about "Auto Brightness, as I think it needs to constantly keep scanning the sensor, but I could be wrong.
- Turn Off "Motion" may also help with battery life.
Ive tended to go back to GB236, but the latest 404 boasts better battery life, so like everyone advises, you just have to test new ways.
Good Luck
that's what I usually get out of my S2.
I think my old battery must of been dodgy. I bought one of them Samsung extended 2000 mAh batteries and its been excellent. I've been playing with the phone all day, I took it of charger at 7am, its now 7pm and its 65% left, That could easily do another day with light to moderate use.

Android system using 60% battery

Under bbs I get connectivity service with high wakelocks and under usage I get android system at 60%+. Running stock debloated and deodexed with unsecure kernel. Anyone else with the issue ?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
Mines at 46% so not sure what your phones doing. As you multitasking on it? This makes the cpu work harder so it consumes more battery. Also could be your brightness effecting it. The DNA has the most powerful screen for android so with that it uses a lot more power to keep it lit. Keep it on low brightness (~25%) and see if this drops the percentage of your usage.

Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Sounds like something is wrong. It's always hard pinpointing it when it just says android system. If it were me I would just backup anything essential with tibu and wipe. I've had phones do that before and wiping data fixed it.
Sent from my Limited Edition HTC6435LVW 00649
It was just wiped and returned to a debloated stock. Down to 43% now. I've been on it a lot tonight. But still, screen should be at the top. I will keep an eye on it the rest of the night and see what I can do to get it back down. I'm trying not to have to wipe as I just got it redone. Battery stats maybe?

Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
Mine started doing this today too. For the past few days I never saw it above 40%, usually always 20% or lower. Today it's at 60% and up for no reason. I don't think I've done anything to it that I can remember. No new app installs or anything.
Have you tried factory reset or stats reset to pin point the problem? I'm guessing that is a rogue app running in the background.

[Q] Sudden change in Battery and Suspicious App?

Hello, all, since I've had my Note 2 I've been incredibly impressed with the battery live, much better than other droids I've owned. Within the last two weeks or so, however, I've seen a dramatic drop in battery life. Where I used to be able to last a day and a half without charging, The phone is now not capable of lasting through the day. There hasn't been any real change in my usage patterns, but I am constantly trying new apps, so I figured that one of the new ones must be the culprit. The stock battery stats indicated that Android System was consuming about 41 percent of the battery, which based on previous readings and having owned other droids seemed much too high. I downloaded Battery Stats Plus, which indicated hat the rogue app was wssyncmldm, consuming that same 41 percent. I wasn't familiar with this app, but google revealed that it manages ota updates? I tried rebooting the phone, and went back to Battery Stats Plus, which now indicated that same 41 percent, but named the app "Factory Test." I let the phone charge overnight to a full 100, then checking again today, I'm seeing similar numbers. Today Factory Test is listed at about 33 percent. Both apps are active in application manager, and reappear as soon as I force close them. Neither can be disabled on my stock, non-rooted note 2. I've not tried the factory reset just yet, was hoping to avoid that, but wondered if anyone had any suggestions.
Thanks so much, all!!!

I'm not sure how much help I can be, but I'll do my best.
Let's start with the obvious things
1. Try uninstalling any apps that you recently installed
2. In application manager go under all and look for the "wssyncmldm" culprit. I don't have it in my application manager but I have one that is very close in name
3. Have you recently installed any OTAs?
4. Are you rooted by any chance?
5. When I updated to the 4.1.2 update, I had a similar battery issue. I just ended up backing up all my apps with "Helium" (No root required if you plug it into a pc with some directions) and just did a factory in settings. It fixed the battery issue for me, though I never looked into it to see if it was this same culprit.
I hope I can help in some way, I'll try my best though!
