I just installed CM10 4.1.2 on my galaxy s2. How is it possible to edit order of apps in my app screen? I want to change order of them (on ICS i was able to do so by hitting left button > edit > and then holding one icon for longer time and dragging it).
Thanks.

It depends on the launcher you use, for what you asked go launcher has that feature and several other launchers.
Using GT - I9100
I thank those who give helpful comments
I expect the same from others.
If you like the stock look use nova or apex launcher they both look the same as the stock launcher but have lots of customization

Has anybody found a way to replace the app drawer for a rooted user? I dislike the screen based grid and would rather have a scrolling grid.

Get Go launcher EX from Market it is free it have 5-7 types ( you can change theme also I use Honeycomb theme with it)
In the Market, type in 'launcher', there are loads of replacements which have loads of settings etc.
I recommend launcher pro, or launcher7.
Launcher7 is really sexy
Thanks for the suggestions, but these change the GUI more than I want. I only want an app drawer replacement.

In that case I'd go with 'ravitejas' suggestion of Go Launcher. It looks similar to touchwiz and you can change the app draw to scrolling type. It just takes a bit of messing about with lots of settings...
Or if you'd like an actual list of apps you can press menu when you're in the app drawer and select list view...

Unfortunately, my Galaxy S II does not have the list view for some reason. That would have been a decent solution. Oh well.. can't make the phone the same in every market it seems.
What about solutions that work with rooting? I did root the phone awhile back, hoping that I could use this to my advantage. So far, no real use.
Weird that yours doesn't have a list view option...
Can't help you beyond stock rom I'm afraid, haven't rooted...haven't seen any real need to...

The problem is you want to replace part of the launcher program but not the whole thing. Root or not it's hard to replace "half a program". Someone could probably, theoretically at least, hack the program apart and replace it that way but that's a lot of effort.
Are you sure you don't have list view? Open the app menu and hit menu
Pick a launcher, i recommend launcher pro or ADW EX (far better than standard ADW launcher)

I'm terribly sorry to be of bother to anyone and I'm sorry if this has been answered before.
Back on GingerBread all I had to do was hold down the home screen and a menu would pop up that allowed me to create widgets. ICS no longer has that feature.
If you go into the apps menu up at the top there is a tab for widgets, but none of them are the ones I want.
I need two widgets, one that toggles on and off airplane mode and one that toggles on and off GPS settings. I found with GingerBread that only having GPS settings on when I needed them doubled my battery life, so I want to do that with ICS, too.
Nevermind, I figured it out.
If you download new widgets they might not show up on the list until you reboot.

Is it possible to change the size of the widgets? I'm using the newest EU ICS Leak. Couldn't find anything about it.

You can also kill the 'Home' process from the running tasks. There were other two ways in which I got this to work but I forgot.

Not all widgets are resizable. If it is however resizable, long-press on a widget that's already on the home screen and the sides will receive a resize decoration that you can drag.
Hey Guys,
I am in dire need of a launcher I like. I have a Galaxy S II i9100 running CM10. The only Launcher I have used that I love 100% is TouchWiz ironically... But the battery control is too poor to justify a switch back to Stock Roms (And no Jelly Bean!?)
I have tried the extracted TouchWiz launchers and they provide everything I want but all of them crash far to often...
So I am looking for a launcher that will meet my desires (I am willing to pay for it).
1) App View type Ordered List of Apps in Alphabetical Order. (Not the 4x4 grid I want the 1x30 ordered list)
2) Pinch Zoom of the Home Screens to view all home-screens
3) Re-sizable widgets
Thanks Guys,
Joshua Puckett

I looked at Nova a while back, I will re-download it and check it out, thanks. I seem to remember that I couldn't do a list style, Attached is a screenshot of the feature mentioned in 1)... it is the one I want the most.
EDIT: Confirmed that Nova doesn't have the Ordered List feature. Thanks for the advice though.

Hello,
I have 2 questions regarding this mod (which I cannot post in the respective thread unfortunately)
- In the ROM description it says 'you can delete 1 of the launcher apps. [2 included]'. I only see 1 launcher called simply "Launcher", which is the other one?
- Where is the settings menu for this "Launcher". E.g. I want to remove the search bar, icon labels and home screens. Pressing the home button on home screen does nothing (usually brings up home screens management). The menu button only offers system settings, and they do not have a launcher section (or I haven't found it).
Thanks,
santaranger

In the latest version of the rom (v5), it is using the AOSP launcher. This is the most basic launcher so therefore there are no extra features. Also the 2nd launcher was removed to conserve memory and speed up the rom.
If you want to modify the look you can try any of the launchers present in the play store.

Which menu are trying to move icons around on? Or are you referring to the home screen or home launcher? If so, is it the launcher that comes with the phone or one you installed from an app store? What phone and what software update does it have? Did you root and install a custom recovery or just root only?

Try "Nova Launcher" if your device is Android 4.0+. Prime version is the launcher I#m using at the moment. Highy customizable and pretty fast
Complete free solution: Mini Launcher

Well, when you have the Red X there and the icons move around, that is the uninstall app option. Should just be able to hit the back button to get out of that part. Make sure there isn't an option in the settings of the home screen that lock the desktop, which prevents moving of icons and widgets around. If you are trying to sort them a custom way in the actual app drawer, it's very likely that the stock Sony home launcher does not have this option. Like the other member mentioned, check out the Nova launcher, or the Apex Launcher. Both have free and paid versions with lots of ability to customize to your liking as well as running very smoothly on most devices.
my fault

Topic should be closed. I have solution. Simply - this file (probably with ending php) contains some infos, so the icons from menu were set in most used order. Sorry for my oversight. Dope with me
