i've just replaced a digitizer in my amaze the i'm having lags..
is there a calibration file like sensation?
Does this mean that you have to basically replace both glass and LCD?
I need to do something about my cracked screen also although my touch response seemed to be fine..
Did you have a similar situation?
(sorry I can't answer your question but I'm about to be attempting the same thing..)

The far right edge of my touch screen isnt responding to my touch. I've called a few places looking to repair it and have been quoted $80-90. Is this a sign of a digitizer which shouldnt cost $90 to fix or the LCD display?
Is it just the keyboard or every app doesn't respond on that part of the screen?

Its that part of the screen. The far right side/edge of my screen isnt responsive. So digitizer or LCD? I can type the letter P in landscape only.
digitizer. Screen is just a display, digitizer recognizes any/all touch input.
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301723
Didnt work for me, but it might just work for you.
Thanks. Maybe I'll replace the digitizer myself. How hard can it be?

Cracked my screen, both lcd and digitizer working.
Ordered a replacement digitizer/lcd combo, but only the lcd is working.
Are there multiple digitizer versions?
Possibly different drivers?
I am able to connect the ribbon cable to my cracked digitizer and move around on the new LCD.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Did you ever figure out what the problem was? The same thing happened to me. I even took the phone apart and reconnected it like three times with no luck.

I just got tha same problem today and i saw your topic just before posting a new one.
I got the problem using the MROM-ICS (of course i dont blame the developer or the rom for that). Basically i had a lot of problems with the rom and my old (gingerbread) data and apps so i has flashing the rom/gapps and restore all the time witch turned me mad... then i just pressed the screen a little harder (really little) when pluging in the charger. I saw he screen doing this weird color when you press it (like the pc monitor does) so i think that this is my fault.
So if i understood right you had the problem before and after digitizer change ? Sorry but i am not sure of what i read here
PS: I tried pds fix but with no luck.
The digitizer is not good /doa. You'll probably need another new one. Happened to me times.

Mine had the same problem same place but it's spread to the centre as well now
I think it's with the stupid flex cables and something to do with the faulty design of fingerprint scanner position
No one has permanent solution for this but for temporary purpose you can insert a piece of credit card inbetween the battery top location and check

I've had this phone for a couple of weeks and just noticed blue horizontal lines when I look at my phone from the bottom up but when I hold my phone facing me I dont see them, is it supposed to be like this?
Can someone confirm this? Or is this a defect
Thanks in advance

I have the same thing . On mine so you are not alone . I'm not sure if it's a defect tho

That is probably the digitizer grid for the capacitive touch sensing. It is normal and all phones (apart from a few that have in-cell touch) have it.
Hello,
I have been asked to fix a Galaxy S3 screen, the LCD is fine and responds to touch no problem.
How easy is it to replace just the glass on the top? Does it require heating at all?
Thanks

No, it's not easy. You must remove the glue between LCD screen and the glass using heating tool.
The risk is to break the AMOLED display panel.
Plenty of posts and a couple of guides on here .
