OK I have a strange problem.
I own 2 acer a100's
The newest one won't allow me to go to gameloft.com wap site but the old one will allow me to do this they both have both are on android version 4.03 the only difference I can see is the older tablet image version is different
Older tablet image version is Acer_A100_AV041.RV16RC02_WW_GEN1
Newer tablet imager version is Acer_AV041_A100_RV01RC01_WW_GEN1
Could this be the issue why I can't view wap sites on my new acer a100?
I got to adobe on the old site and I can see the mobile version of the flash player but on the new on it says the device is not supported.
This is the message I get from gameloft
Sorry, but there are no available games for your mobile. If you are using a web browser, please try to connect with your WAP browser
I have been search on here and the net for over 6 hrs but cant find the answer why one works and the other doesn't
Please help and thanks in advance

Depending on what browser you are using, have you tried changing the user agent?

not sure what browser comes with acer tablets. i am guessing it is the ICS browser. as i remember. that browser does not have the option to set user agent. try to get something like dolphin browser from the play store. go into settings and look for user agent settings. if your browser is set to desktop, ipad or something like that, a lot of sites will not redirect you to a wap version.
it is worth the try

does anyone know the correct way to spoof webpages into thinking your using the site from a honeycomb tablet? Right now, most sites will give the phone version of website rather than a tablet optimized version. On Dolphin HD you are able to try a few different user agents, but the only tablet one is the iPad. This works good for most websites but i feel like there is a benifit to being seen as a android tablet rather than as an iPad. I know i could just switch it to desktop mode but then that would ignore tablet optomized versions of sites.
Dolphin does have a custom user agent category, but i dont know what a user agent for a android tablet (such as the galaxy tab 10.1) would be. I tried using just "Android 3.0" and i got the tablet version of google to work (normally you get a mobile version). I dont really have a HC tablet to test out to see if my touchpad is getting the correct version of the site. Anyone have any suggestions?
and yes i know there is not a whole lot of tablet optimized sites at the moment.
In the default Android browser enter in the URL "about:debug". You won't see anything happen, but if you open the menu and go to settings you should see some new options to select from. Scroll down and you'll notice a new section labeled "Debug". Under here you will find the "UAString" setting. From here you can set it up as an iPad or even a desktop browser.
If you want to check which browser your device is using, you can always go to a site like FindMeByIP.com which can tell you what browser you are using.

Opera mobile is your answer, it has a tablet and desktop setting.

Another thing I've noticed is that you can't use the tablet version of say... Yahoo.com/tablet optimally because the window in WebOS's internet browser is movable.
That means that when you try to slide through news stories, it doesn't work because the whole window moves.

i own an SII
updated to latest stock 2.3.5 and rooted
am trying to access the company website which pop up a window to enter credentials and needs java to be enabled, the stock webkit blocks it so i receive "unauthorized to view this page"
tried all the browsers, Miren, dolphin, oepera, skyfire, boat browser, ninesky all of them give the same error, even tho the block popup options is UNCHECKED and Enable Java is checked,
tried firefox it displays the login page then after the credentials it gives me a white page that doesnt load
i own an hp touchpad with cyanogen mod alpha 3.5 and i am able to open the same site via dolphin hd , i replicated the settings from the tab to the galaxy but no go i need help cuz i need to access this site on the go
forgot to mention, the page is working perfectly on iphone, ipad and all honeycomb tablets and my hptouch pad running cyanogenmod/webos
most of my friends have galaxy s2,s plus, ace and none can open the page
reallllly need help for this one
Try xScope browser in the market. I had a similar issue and what I was trying to run did not work until I tried it.
before you install 20 different browsers: i also had a similar problem with our company's login page, so i just bookmarked the URL of the popup (you will find out the URL with any desktop browser) and access that URL directly, problem gone...

nop, tried that on all the browsers still not working
i seriously need help :'(
So i've tried searching this answer and I'm not finding awhole lot. This is becoming quickly annoying.
No matter what web program I download (for instance - Skyfire), websites on the SGS2 typically show up in the mobile version of a website.
I've looked here:
http://www.mobilephonetipsandtricks.com/2011/08/how-to-view-pages-in-desktop-mode-with.html
but there is no "View Mode" on the Tmo sgs2. In Skyfire I select desktop mode but that doesn't stop pages from loading mobile versions of themselves. I've even tried "about:debug" but that does nothing.
Heck I've even tried a factory reset.
Anyone have a for sure answer?
Use a browser that allows you to change the user agent to desktop rather than mobile, such as opera mobile.
I've never had that problem using Firefox. Sites which have a mobile site and a "normal" site tend to default to the normal site and I can only get mobile sites up if I preface a domain known to have a mobile site with the usual "m."
i use dolphon browser HD and set my user agent to desktop.
Works without problems.
Do you have the T-Mobile USA version? If so I would check its foum, as there may be a modded stock browser like for the i9100.
Dolphin HD, opera mobile and Firefox mobile all have options to display the normal website as default via user agent.

try opera mobile or mini, or u can install ics and then the stock browser has a "request desktop site"

its an option in your browser settings
I've got Dolphin HD and works perfect. Go to: more/settings/dolphin settings/user agent and choose Desktop. Restart browser and You ready to go. enjoy
Me and my friend cannot access this website from our android phones (mine is 2.3.4) for my workplace:
tinyurl.com/89mvcb5
It just pulls up a blank white page on my android phone. The page opens up without problems from my android tablet, ipad tablet, home pc/laptop, and iphone.
I though it was https issue but my android phone can open up other https websites. I also tried Dolphin HD browser with different user agents on the android phone without any success. Tried Opera mini - no go. Tried different proxy servers but still blank white page on my phone.
Do you guys have any suggestions?
Have you tried using the XDA app?
Thats odd, both Dolphin HD and Opera Mobile display a white page like you said. Its blank in Opera on the desktop but works in Chrome. Something must be wrong in the code somewhere. It does load correctly in Firefox, so that is probably your best bet.
Spunker88, nice job.
Firefox is working great. Firefox's code is doing something right that the other 3 browsers (google, dolphin, opera) aren't doing.
Decided to check it out.
Works here on my Ainol Novo7 Elf using Dolphin HD.
Grrr....................
nejc121, it also works on my android tablet. Site works on tablets but not on phones. It didn't work on my android phone 2.3.4 until I installed firefox. Your Ainol Novo 7 is a tablet.

Think I might try Firefox.

Try clearing the Data in your Browser and rebooting.
I need to use Internet Explorer on my mobile devices for my job. My company's as well as a few client's secure websites as require Internet Explorer to work correctly. I need to log into those websites to access data while I am working out in the field. Those websites absolutely require Internet Explorer.
Those websites do not even work on Firefox on PC or Safari on Mac. So far only a coworker's Windows phone with Internet Explorer seems to works. Everyone else with iPhone, iPad and Android phone have not been able to use their mobile devices, and we all have to use a laptop with Windows, which seems to defeat the purpose of having a mobile device.
I know Android does not have Internet Explorer, but is there some browser that can emulate Internet Explorer on Android?

Try Dolphin Browser... and try to change UA to Internet Ex (i think)... or Boat Browser
Inviato dal mio GT-S5570 con Tapatalk 2
maybe out of the thread ..
but try out emulating a pc .. ?
Like using your mobile as a controller of the pc
else try Opera if yo haven't , change the user agent into Desktop
hope it works well for yo ..
You can try Dolphin Browser since you can enter a custom user agent so the website will think you are using IE. If its only built to work with IE's rendering engine you may have issues, but often times these sites are mostly functional in other browsers unless they need ActiveX.
This user agent string will tell the site you are using IE8 on XP

You kust restored for me crucial functionality I thought I'd lost forever with the upgrade to 4.1.2. Much thanks.
Need to run site in compatibility view on IE 8 on android
Hi I have a similar issue with my phone and tab, need to login to secure server but even on PC the darn site needs to run in compatibility view for me to even be able to log in (IE 8-10 only) Have done the string like above opens the window but does not allow login as compatibility view is not enabled... Does the same thing as on PC if this is not enabled ( jumbles up the page and does not allow the login button to be clicked) Is there any way for me to get this working?
Please help.

This is my 3rd post about what I'm trying to get suggestions on with a browser I have been given access to that works only on Windows 10 in windows devices but also on any Android or iOS devices. The view mode can be changed from Android, to Safari, and between desktop/mobile. Mentioning this because noticed it does emulate ie on desktop mode. Could be the answer.
It is MX5, the latest version to Maxthon Browser, and it is worlds ahead of anything available for Android. I am trying to get suggestions as to setting up a thread for availability and such, and am sure you would have to create an account through a Maxthon Browser download from playstore. Has cloud storage as well as syncing favorites, open tabs, between devices. Also has the ability to store webpages offline now in their entirety, or just extract pics, vids that can be modded for use in other ways. Also has what is called UUMail built in you name your own webserver, enter email address into and create shadow (alias) email addresses to use online that are filtered for spam. Adblocking is builtin as well.
If this seems to be an answer, try Maxthon Browser off playstore, create a user account and password. Even if you change the view mode in it to desktop and that does not fix the IE compatability problem, maybe this version, MX5 will.

Here similar problem, wish/need/pray to acces with android browser to old website made for IE 5.0 and javascript... Under PC I sue IE Tab... Try install add-onson Firefox for android, but not works...
(
I need the same thing, I have a dodge service manual cd that uses internet explorer 7 and under to run properly, I have used internet explorer in dev mode to run it it using ie 7, also on chrome I used IE tab extension and they both work great for windows. The problem is on android nothing works. I have tried every browser. I have also tried Yandex browser which supports add on and have installed ie tab but it does not work. I also tried Firefox and install ie tab using chrome store foxified but again it does not work. I wish there was a way of running this cd on android. I think it needs activex, netscape, svg viewer and java script.
