[Q] Issues in Pureness with Xperia Neo V - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hi,
Recently I have installed ICS Pureness Custom ROM (build 14, SP1) on Stock Kernel of Sony Ericsson. Installation goes well and its installed. Overall, What I wanted I got that in this room, like less internal memory consumption, RAM managment, etc.
But there are some issues which I faced, and they are:
- Only 3 Home Screens are available which means that if you install many apps then some apps will not shown to you due to screen limitation.
- Old Icons, I dont know why ThilinaC used that.
- Soft Back Home and Menu icon, I really dont know why it is there when in Xperia Neo V we have Hard Buttons. Ofcourse it reduce the screen size
- Not able to got Beats featurs which was mentioned in the change log of Build 14.0 SP1, Dont know why
- You have to install all Gapps manually which makes lil wiered.
-ThilinaC (developer) must include new Google search, when we have JB 4.1 library I think we can do that.
Well thats it I faced these problem
But one word ROM is very good and stable I have checked while playing Temple run with no logs also torrent was running in backgroup and other apss. This I cant do in Stock ROM
Anyone faced same issue lke me?

for more home panes flash any system ui you want...there are lots in themes and app...
to disable on screen buttons got to settings on screen navigation buttons and disable,restart...osb will go...
gapps may be excluded to reduce size of rom...i guess flashing them wont be much problem unless you have a locked bootloader and must install cwm everytime...

notes app not showing up

I really love the ICS Pureness series and have been following since build 13 (trifle belated ) ...
anyways, i used Build 13 for a couple of months, and then flashed build 14 (sp1) ...
a couple of small issues:
- cannot see NOTES app in the drawer, although can launch a new note from the shortcut in active tasks display ...
- there is a strange line in right hand bottom (below last app in third column - screenshot attached) of 2nd page in app drawer ...
anybody have these issues?
I'll re-flash and see if it persists ...

[ROM] SuperAosp from [email protected] & tolemaC

Special thanks to the creator of the item inexus from which inspired me to give a graphic touch to the rom.
This rom (not a mod) has been developed entirely from the source of Google and very little of Cyanogen framework.
Thanks to Cyanogen and all his staff for the contributions received.
Is installed from the recovery, as always, do not worry if it takes a while to leave the first splash is entirely normal and configuration files running on first boot.
I strongly recommend formatting SDCARD total with three partitions, SDCARD 7.4 GB / EXT3 512MB / LinuxSwap 64MB, you can do from the recovery, but remember to keep you before your pictures and music. This is because directories are created in the sdcard called Android which are recorded in the data I have found to negatively affect the rom. PROVEN!,
This is only necessary in case you want to have Apps2sd or Linux Swap, if not going to do any of those things is not necessary to format the Sdcard with three partitions.
WARNING!
Only if you come from different roms (Donut, Eclair, Froyo) is necessary to WIPE, when coding in Gingerbread from this rom will not need to wipe again to install later roms.
This rom installs itself alone, that is completely reconfigures.
Before installing the rom Wipe recommend because it has many changes. When installed and out of recovery by restarting leave untouched while the LED flashes. At this point I recommend you salteis the account settings to skip giving google and once in the launcher and set podreis rom to your liking. This is because otherwise the phone will Autoconnect the market and begin to automatically download all the applications you had installed and it saturates the terminal because it does hit, besides putting the background image that you had prior to the rom and then you ask me that as it is possible that if I install the rom to wipe the bottom appears to me that I had before. In this way you will do a clean install. Then you enter the market and instalais a free application to refresh anyone that you have installed in the terminal.
Very attentive to you to do restorations of any kind against the rom or program that you can have problems. (I mean backups, including their own SupSetup least in the section on applications), special attention to restore configuration data of any kind. Under the best not to doubt.
SupSetup new V16 in all roms, not serve any previous SupSetup for this rom
The new integrated SupSetup activation brings on-demand applications in the applications section extras, you can enable applications that interest you as the Roma comes in "Lite" (without extra applications installed) so that everyone can choose the best configuration.
It is important before you set up Google account to be activated from applications before SupSetup so that when you connect to the servers to configure your Google account, they enter the downloads section.
After entering the market and to display applications install any application downloads for cool downloads.
Apps2sd
Apps2sd is to pass the phone applications both current and future to the ext3 partition, it is imperative not to activate any way to move application to the sd or change from internal to external location application. Simply activate it from the SupSetup without touching any configuration in the Spare Parts or applications from the rom settings.
Apps2sd not activate without at least once you have restarted
General
- Rom in "LITE"
- New graphical look different from SuperGinger's
- All you had the SuperGinger but since source of non-Cyano Google
Added
- Wake & Unlock
- Always visible Bluetooth Settings (tolemaC)
- Hide clock
- Percentage of battery
- It's part of Cyanogen CyanogenModsettings
- Etc ...
A rom much lighter than any other that you were able to prove, you could say that is the Nexus CSDI One (this rom Magic gave a lot to talk), completely stable and trouble-free calls or anything known, at least tests we are doing we have not yet found any fault.
Applications
- You can install more from the extra applications SupSetup
- Google Apps
- Flash Player 10.1

Do you mean the theme chooser that's been added specifically to CM and not part of AOSP?
Oops In the version he made before this 2.6.8 he had it so I figured he would keep it. Never mind

[ROM][GO][ALL BLs] TinyXperiaLite™ v0.5 - Based on Vision™Rom

Introducing, a new ROM based on the amazing acervenky's Vision™Rom,
TinyXperiaLite™
Many people want simple, fast and bloat free ROMs. They only want the bare minimum ROM so that they can freely add and tweak (the ROM or directly, the sources) so as to customize it as they please. I know I do. I want to take a minimum ROM, flash it on my phone and then add AC!D Audio Engine 5.0 and Sony Xperia T Small Apps to it. These are my personal modifications that suit me. And similarly, there will be modifications that will suit others as well. So, presenting TinyXperiaLite. The main purpose of this ROM is to enable you to make what you want for your device. Add apps, features, change boot animation, add ring tones and what not because this ROM weighs in only at 76 MB (for Release v0.1) and can support all your demands.

Battery & RAM Tweaking Guide
Battery Calibration Tutorial
FOR THOSE WITH BATTERY PROBLEMS:
1. After flashing your phone with a new ROM, install this software:
BATTERY CALIBRATOR on Play Store - 47 KB size
2. Then, charge your phone to 100%.
3. IMPORTANT. Remove CHARGER first.
4. IMMEDIATELY hit "Battery Calibration" (1 or 2 seconds delay is fine, wait for BATTERY voltage to drop and be stable)
5. Use your phone normally (don't charge in between) till it hits 1%.
6. Then charge your phone UNINTERRUPTED (leave it for charging all night) till 100%.
7. Unplug and start using. You should be having as little as 2-3% battery drain for 6-8 hours of IDLING now. That's the optimization of a calibrated battery.

Extra Battery Saving Tips:
1. Set a brightness level. Do not use Auto Brightness, it sips more power in turn.
2. Set ROTATION to OFF if you are not using Landscape Mode at all.
3. Use EXTENDED BATTERY Mode if you actively use WiFi/Mobile Data.
RAM Cleaning
- Do not use task killers
- Freeze/Move to Quarantine those APPS which you DO NOT USE regularly and you don't want them TO RUN IN THE BACKGROUND
APP QUARANTINE on Play Store
Go ahead, try it. Move all unwanted apps to quarantine now!
DEEP SLEEP STATE battery saving
Your phone sips the least amount of power when it is in DEEP SLEEP STATE. There is a new app in the marketplace which can FORCE DEEP SLEEP STATE on your phone. This is especially useful if you want the phone to conserve battery for hours and then wake up for a minute and sync all new alerts in one go. This can help prolong your usage on a single charge.
DEEP SLEEP BATTERY SAVER on Play Store
This app is under development and can be found on XDA developers forums itself. Here's the link to the thread:
[APP] [2.1+] Deep Sleep Battery Saver
How Deep sleep Battery Saver works
Deepsleep battery saver constantly puts the device to deepsleep mode while screen off. During deepsleep mode, Wifi, 3G are turned off, background apps are stopped. Therefore, most apps are not working, including Facebook, Google Service, etc,. It then constantly wakes up in order to download email, sync Facebook status, etc, which is defined by deepsleep frequency and woke up duration
By constantly put device into deepsleep mode, we will save battery life due to no Internet connection, and therefore most of network-based apps, such as Facebook, Gmail will not work.
Caution: during deepsleep mode on, this app may disrupt your normal activities, such as your email notification comes with larger delay.
In advanced mode, you can customize more parameters, including day/night settings, active period, screen timeout, sync strategy, ignored apps, etc,.

Hi!
What features are here apart from removed bloatware, I'm talking about tweaks...supercharger, wi-fi 3g tweaks...?
One of my friends has xperia Go, on which I gained him root access, but I can't find a good simple tweaked rom for locked bootloader.
Thanks
SuperCharger V6, Mali400, SQLite, ZipAlign.
These tweaks are there in every custom ROM my friend..
Nobody try?
Thanks for the reply. I will tell that my friend of this rom, but it will be a long way and it should be tested from another with locked bl before, because I can't be responsible for him.
Anyway many thanks for your work! I will follow this thread.
Locked Bootloader will be safer I guess. Anyways thanks!

Just tried it. I love the bootanimation and xperia z launcher with 4x4 app drawer. The only problem is the tab n grid is outdated. On startup there's a notification saying "a large number of sms are being sent. I tried to update the tab n grid and it worked fine. Also the CWM is still there.
EDIT: The themes were gone. I can't select other themes.
UPdate: In order to make the app drawer 4x4, you have to clear xperia home data in settings.
Update: In order to change themes, you have to go to settings >> display. There's no option to change theme on launcher. Please fix it.

Stock launcher has no home preferences. That is a modified version of stock launcher, search in xda "stock launcher mdpi". Then you will have to copy "home.apk" (exchange with old one) and "home preferences.apk" to /system/app and edit properties -rw -r -r. Wipe cache and dalvik cache and reboot.
But you should try this rom.

Root and Update Xperia Active (satsuma) to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 for Beginner

I have a rough road to update my Xperia Active. And now I've success to have my phone work smoothly. Want to share for a beginner, step by step.
1. First of all, make decision. You have to decide to leave sony. You may brick your phone. And may be, Sony cannot repair for you. If you're reluctant, I think do not do it.
2. You should have a second phone to use between the process. Or you may loss connection for a while.
3. Some word(s) you should know before ( I try to describe as simple not exactly the whole meanings, only for understand for use )
- Boot loader : is the part of Android system to load data for boot system. Sony lock this part for safety and for right issues. You should unlock bootloader before something to do. (There's some methods to root on locked bootloader but you still can't flash new rom)
- root : The way you take superuser right to change everythings in your android phone. As administrator in PC. You can check this right by use terminal emulator, write down su, the icon will change from $ -> #. If it's say " unknown command" means that you still don't rooted.
- custom ROM : There're a lot of custom roms for xperia active to choose. The most well known is CyanogeMod rom. Till now I think CM10 is stable for xperia active (It's modify from jellybean 4.1.2). There is newer version CM10.1 (JB 4.2.1) but still some bug, waiting for development. The others are Jelly Vanilla, Super jelly bean, PACMAN, Paranoid, Mike, Polish blood, etc. You can try all of them.
- flash rom : to install ROM to your device
- fastboot : the mode to flash kernel. For xperia active, connect the usb cable to your pc then power off your phone. Press Vol.up button while connect usb cable to microUSB port. You should install usb driver for xperia active into your PC. See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398910
- full wipe : to delete and format user data before install a new rom. You lock in to the recoverymode and then wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache (advance > wipe dalvik cache ). In mounts and storage > format system, format data, format cache.
boot in recovery mode : to restart into recovery mode, For Xperia Active you should power off your phone, then power on and wait till some boot image and LED light come then press Vol. down button repetitively for a while. If it responses, it will stop boot logo and go to recovery mode with the blue LED light.
- Kernel : boot.img. It's a boot program for your device contain some system drivers.
- recovery : It's may be as a little OS install to your device to do somethings that cannot be done via your ordinary OS. There're 2 well known brands, ClockworkMod recovery (CWM) and TeamWin Recovery Project (TWRP). For Xperia Active I suggest to use CWM.
4. Make your phone's battery > 40%.
5. Unlock Bootloader : goto http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
6. Root : go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398910 .
- This will help you to find driver for xperia active (driver.zip)
- Make flash kernel easier (fastboot.zip).
- And will install Rage Kernel v3.2 (ICS) and CWM Recovery 5.0.2.7
If you like this ROM you can stop here.
7. Back up your phone. Reboot into recovery mode. Choose backup/restore > backup
8. Upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
- Download kernel. I use 2.6.32.60 nAa kernel from: http://goo.im/devs/nAa/kernels/2.6.32/jb/satsuma (credit: http://www.androidmodmarket.com/ModMarket/Listings/XDA-L-2214282.html). It's stable, good for battery, beautiful logo. Newer kernel are good too but drain battery much faster. Rename it to boot.img and put it in your Fastboot directory (from 6) in your PC.
- Download ROM. I use Super jelly bean 5.5. It's smooth, small, little ram used, true enlargable icon(150% good for older ). Only problem I found is ringtone adjustment. You can go here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277199
- Download Gapps. http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
- Copy ROM, gapps into your sd card
- Flash kernel. Use flash.cmd as in 6.
- Start your phone into CWM recover and do full wipe.
- Install zip from sd card > find SJB zip file > install.
- Install zip from sd card > find Gapps zip file > install.
- After finish, restart system. Wait calmly for the first time. It may take 5 minutes.
- You can adjust your settings. And wait for 30 min. for ROM to settle. Restart and enjoy.
3.6) full wipe : การลบและformat user data ก่อน install rom ให้เปิดเข้า recoverymode แล้วเลือก wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache ( ในเมนู advance > wipe dalvik cache ) ในเมนู mounts and storage > format system, format data, format cache
3.8) Kernel : boot.img.
4. Charge batt
5. Unlock Bootloader : ไปที่ http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
CWM Recovery 5.0.2.7
7. Back up android โดย Reboot เข้า recovery mode เลือก backup/restore > backup
8. Upgrade เป็น Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
8.7) Install zip from sd card > find SJB zip file > install
8.8) Install zip from sd card > find Gapps zip file > install

refer from Q&A forum, there is some rule that i found on 1st page:
here is the link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907900&page=67
want to post here then have to follow some rules.
-NO OFF-TOPIC
-No spamming
-No fighting with other
-No Q/A related to best ROM/KERNEL
I think, it was possible to write in other language if you post an english tutorial
Xperia Active Upgrade to SJB5.5
First of all I like to thank the author for posting this upgrading topic on Xperia Active, one of the best outdoor smartphone. Though it's limitation in RAM but it still performed very well with basic outdoor Apps.
Here are some of my comments during the upgrading, I am no expert in any of this stuff but glad XDA forum had provided many info. Started Rooting the 2013 Nexus 7 32G first then went on to Xperia Active which was way more complex then expected.
Thoughts
1. Hope the author could write in point form instead of referring to another site, took a day on trial and error and almost brick the phone (well I am new to this stuff)
2. Before upgrading, I was using HRM with Xperia Active Ant+ but found it was not added in the Kernel.
3. Found a link in XDA on Ant+ addon but was for 4.0 version and did not workout.
4. Found another link Ant+ and this time it was a success. Ant+ is now back in action.
5. Did not remove the first Ant+ installation on the Xperia Active but went on using CWM to install the second Ant+ zip file from the SD card folder.
6. Overall the upgrading was amazing, Apex Launcher looks better compare to partner's unrooted Xperia Z layout.(next project)
7. Found if set the CPU to Performance running around 1.6GHz, it was draining battery very fast. Now I have switch to intellidemand mode and testing it out (have a feeling the battery life will last longer. When the phone is idle the CPU is running between 249~460Mhz). Definitely like the options of playing around the CPU without downloading external App for it.
8. GPS at initial startup was slow, maybe due fresh start however after few try outs did find it is a little slow on looking for satellites.
9. Booting up (intellidemand 1612MHz setting with SJB5.5) time was way slower compare to the stock unrooted Xperia Active (recorded a vid using both Xperia phone for comparison, will try to post a link soon) Maybe could due to setting, stock unrooted Xperia Active Core0 was at 1024MHz
10. Power Off was similar case, still the stock unrooted Xperia Active out performed even had the rooted Xperia Active set on performance
11. Touch screen was less sensitive then before
12. For now, since everything is working out fine will just leave it as it is. As for performance wise felt that installing just Rage Kernel v3.2 (ICS) and v3.0 (GB) was much faster.
So if anyone like me to do other comparison, let me know and do give a guide as I am Idiot to this at the moment.
Cheers
Well done
I'm very glad that I've made something useful to you. But it no so good enough. I'm not an expert too. I think for mod rom you have to find more and more. Which is the best rom for you. I have to give a link to other because it's the rule you have to refer to the writer for his achievement except you made it by your own. And I only found and happy and then tell others that this is the way to do.
And now I've go on to MIUI. It's not so fast but I love it. Not so sluggish and beautiful rom. You can try to find how to install MIUI on this website.

Of course you can try any rom and kernel you like and find the one fitting best for your usage
But if you want to try for example SJB, don't use 5.5, always use the latest version of the rom you want to try. Only don't use it, if it has more bugs. Otherwise try the latest, often it includes bug fixes etc
Sent from my Nexus 4 running Android 4.3
Well thank you again for the kind advice.
I would stick with SJB5.5 for the moment and play around. Definitely something I tried today an improvement was the camera function, the photos taken was much better. Every upgrade do fix bugs but then again it's also on Beta stage. I have 2 Xperia Active, maybe will try the other one to play around with the upgrade.
At the moment I have no intention of upgrading to any newer smartphone so SE Xperia Active will stay as long as it takes. She has proven to me over the years, seen desert storm, swam in SE Asia water, went backing with Maps loaded and most of all been thru all my outdoor activities. She is compact, light, tough and now I have moved 70% of the Apps to 2013 Nexus 7 so she is basically working as an outdoor smartphone with Map, Fitness Apps and music....no YouTube, no Gmail and stuff, basically no productivity stuff. (new Google Map is really crap, have downloaded 6.9 back)
@mrwitoon, I guess you are Thai, I have always love Thailand as my holiday destination
MIUI development is under China SiaoMi which out performs iOS in term of sales. After I hv said my needs for Xperia Active at the moment, what are your opinions for my needs? It seems MIUI are tailored to those like iOS. Correct me if I am wrong. Just been to their site and saw the vid.
Cheers

Of course some updates bring up new bugs, but most times many new really cool features and bug fixes
If I were you, I'd do a backup of your current rom using cwm (nandroid backup) and flash the update with just wiping cache (you won't loose data). Don't forget to flash gapps if necessary! If you like the update, stay with it, if not, just restore the backup and it'll be okay

Now I left from SJB and stay on MIUI. I think It may looks like iOS but something different. Someone said iOS7 comes to look like MIUI! For me I'm happy with it morethan MIUI. I don't want too much from this phone except her endurance. For both roms ( SJB, MIUI ) I think not different in term of smoothness. But MIUI has only 1 launcher not need to open app drawer again, so easier (If you ever used iOS, the same feelings). Some controls eg. wifi, bluetooth, power off, reboot, lock screen etc. are on status bar, you have not to find special icon app from the market. ( I usually want this control easier than go into settings ). The sweeper app of MIUI is the same as Fastreboot app or TaskKiller of google market but you have not to download and take more ram. When I open too many app and feel some sluggish I sweep it to clear more ram. MIUI has Xiaomi's market. There're many interesting app in there, but you have to read Chinese. ( I can't read too. I tried download it, if not good then uninstall.) Now I use v.3.6.14 of Sandy or Mihahn I'm not sure. It isn't most updated but stable and fast.( I try to update to 3.9.6 but it's more sluggish.) And I use Colinux kernel to solve problem of self reboot of Lupus kernel as suggested by the author.
I agree with Mihahn. If you have time, you can nandroid backup your rom and try another roms or update. And you can try newer rom for awhile. If it isn't as you need, you can go back. And you'll fun with trial.
Super jelly bean 6.0 works like a charm

Decided to stick to same kernel and it workout well.

Try look for micro gapps.. Around 30Mb..
i toyed with this rom for a couple of hours last night. please find some screenshots attached, and some others here:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rkdj2p8qk60ozxa/AACPskjk0GnMivAm4xSEB9a4a?dl=0
some initial reactions:
- the wallpaper bug is really annoying. workaround: select a live wallpaper, that would display properly. you might want to try "simple image wallpaper free" from google play, that's supposed to set up a centered wallpaper.
- gapps micro package works nice, but don't flash it before booting the rom, or you will get an fc loop from the settings app. flash the rom first, let it boot, then you can flash the gapps package.
- there's plenty of languages available. not all the ui will use the selected language, though. some settings will remain chinese, some others will be english.
- ui speed is sufficient. not as fast as the aosp rom, but certainly something i could live with.
- the rom is very lightweight. after cleaning the memory via task manager, i got 1.2g of free ram (~1.4g before flashing gapps package).
- all sensors seem to work, including proximity sensor, nfc, gps, ambient light sensor, etc.
- the updater app shows that there's an update, but won't download as according to the rom, there's no external sd card. too bad.
- downloads from the lewa app store are just unbearably slow. 10-20kb/s, brings back the modem years
- the browser is pretty nice actually, there's plenty of settings, and text reflow works better than in chrome.
edit: a last remark: most preinstalled apps can be removed, but you don't want to do that right after flashing the rom. one of the preinstalled apps contains the factory keyboard, so after removing some chinese whatever, i found myself without a keyboard. so install a keyboard of your choice, and then you can uninstall whatever you want.
