Hey guys I just bought a Samsung galaxy s 2 skyrocket. I popped in my sum card updated my apn settings and things are working good, except for visual voicemail. I was wondering if there is a way to get this working. Also instead of it saying at&t for the carrier name, it says home. Any way to change that?

You're better off asking in the Skyrocket forums. This is the I9100 forums; a different device.
Thank you I apologize

Hmm.. that should have definitely worked. Did you press the send button/call button?
Another way you can check is by putting another sim card in and if its locked it will tell you.

That code doesn't work for me either, Latest stock update for BTU CSC. Just sits there with a random code in the dialer screen

It worked before, last few updates it isnt working. Maybe its something to do with how Samsung stops Voodoo sim unlock from working?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Never used voodoo sim unlock and its not working for me either. Though the ROM I'm on has a tab to check easily but all the same... the dialer code isn't working
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I dont have to use voodoo sim unlock because i bought mine full price from Samsung, unbranded but i would still like to be able to use dialer codes... Basically their latest updates reverse the unlock process by resetting the hex in the NV_data.bin every hour :/ but mine is permanently unlocked by Samsung!

try installing the omega 12 rom, as it has sim unlocking built in
The *#7465625# does not work on the Galaxy S3 anymore. That was the case for me and for everyone reporting here. I was able to get the same screen ans figure out my S3 was locked by using the app "SGS Secret Codes", which is available on the Play Store.
Does anyone know a way of figuring out which particular network the device is locked to? I just bought an S3 which was supposed to be unclocked bu it is not, and to unlock it I need to know which carrier it is locked to.
hello my galaxy s3 has got a big problem..everything works except data!!i can't make any calls, can't go to internet( wifi works)..what can i do???i got to use like an ipod...lol
One what have you done .
this question lacks any detail .
Two is your IMEI correct .
Three is your sim working#
Four have you checked your network settings
Five have you the correct modem.
Six try a factory reset .
Seven return to service .

I don't know if you tried to pull out the simcard and clean the contacts. This was a common issue on the HTC Desire HD and this little fix worked fine.

Updated to Jelly Bean??
if yes go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918601
Is the phone new? Has it ever worked for you? Have you considered the fact that it could be network locked(SIM locked)?
My phone ALWAYS shows "Not registered on Network" when I'm at home, that's because signal is terrible since I updated to JB (modem related).
Have you tried different SIMs from different networks? Have you tried your current SIM in a different phone?
[the phone is from 29 june..always worked bit one day data stopped working.. i got a HTC sensation and the SIM works fine in that phone/SIZE]

Ok,
so here comes the question my girlfriend always asks me
"What did you do between it working, and it no longer working?"
You say data doesn't work, does that mean you can make phone calls?
I didnt do anything it just stopped working and i cant do phone calls...its like using an iPod.. maybe someone blocked my imei?could it be possible?

Yes, it's entirely possible, but you'll need to check with your provider. There is no way of checking from the device itself if the IMEI has been blocked.
Did you buy the phone new?
You could, potentially, be extremely unlucky and someone blocked the wrong IMEI code when attempting to block their own.
Ye it was new..there is no way to make it work then?

Well, if it really has been blocked, you should get in touch with your provider, and potentially have to go through some lengthy process of proving to them you legitimately own the device and didn't block it yourself. It's unlikely though, as I've never heard of a device being removed from the block list before.
Your other option is to leave the country, it will work in another country
Failing that, return it to Samsung telling them it just stopping working, you did nothing, and insist they replace it.
Probably wrong Kernel, happened often to me on my old sensation

What network are you on? I had to go to t mobile web site to get configuration settings sent to phone. All was then ok. You are not providing enough information, Network, whether phone had ever worked, if it has been modified in any way etc.etc.
People here will help you but you really must give as much relevant information as possible

Hi Everyone,
For the last few weeks I was using Galaxy S3 3g (I9300) and I really liked this phone. Couple of days ago I was given the 4g version of the same phone. It is obviously faster as long as data transfer is concerned, but to my surprise, there are also differences in how the customizing of the home screens works.
In the new phone I can't just hold an icon and move it somwhere. In order to do it I have to select Edit from context menu first. Also when I move icons across pages I can only go right (!).
Both phones are on unmodified stock ROMs, android 4.1.2.
Is there a way to enable in 4g phone the same way the home screen is handled in the 3g version?
Cheers,
Tom

Hi everyone,
I apologize if this has previously been discussed but I recently purchased a clean IMEI AT&T S4 Active off of ebay which I'd like to unlock to use on T-Mobile. I went through the tutorials on the site and was unsuccessful due to my current build so I called AT&T who was willing to unlock after they checked the IMEI number. Before they can do so though, they need the phone number to the phone which I don't have (and haven't received from the seller yet). Is this something that could be looked up in the phone even if I don't have a SIM card?
Thanks,
Matt
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the phone number attached to the simcard not the phone itself?

Dekmantor you are right... every SIM card has a phone number in in that is directly connected with who gives you the phone service
