[Q] Mapping sd card as drive letter in Win7 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

When I connect my stock Note 2 to my Windows 7 computer, via any usb cable, my installed 64gb sd card momentarily is reported on my computer as a standard usb drive, however moments later this notification goes away and the phone re-connects as a MTP media device with "directories" Card & Phone. While I can access the files on the phone's internal memory and the sd card in this manner, I cannot map the sd card directories as a drive letter like I have on every other cell phone sd card I have ever owned.
How do I cuase the sd card in the Note 2 to act as a normal usb flash drive?

[Q] PC boot drive

I have a 4gig thumbdrive I tote around with a persistent version of ubuntu and some other utilities, like ultimate boot cd. Since I always have my phone, I figured why not just use it instead of carrying the thumbdrive.
I have been trying to install the boot installer on my phone's sd card so I could just boot a PC with the phone. The trouble is that if I install the thumbdrive boot files on the external micro sd card there seems to be no way to boot a pc from that drive. If you goto disk drive mode and boot the PC, it only wants to boot to the first USB device, i.e. the internal SD card. I tried the multimount usb app, but that did not help in mounting just the external SD card.
I have installed the boot files on the internal SD card and successfully booted the PC with it, but once the phone is restarted it decides there is something wrong with the internal SD card and it reformats it.
Has anyone tried to use their phone as their PC boot thumbdrive?
I have tried the YUMI and the old fashion single boot on pendrivelinux.com. It matters not whether I select persistent mode.

[Q] External SD Corrupt

Hey,
For the past month my rooted SCH-I545 (Verizon) S4 has had an error notification that my external SD card is corrupt and needs to be formatted.
Tried connecting the SD card to a card reader, which it wouldn't show up.
Then tried connecting through mounting in Safestrap, which nothing would show up there either.
Ended up formatting it through the phone and the SD card now appears in MTP mode, but still doesn't show when removed from the phone and placed in the card reader or from Safestrap.
How can I either enable UMS to access the drive through the phone to recover files or otherwise gain access to the files formatted on my SD card?
P.s.. Recuva and TestDisk at the ready -- just can't select the SD card when in MTP.

Help. SD Card is blank or has unsupported filesystem

Hello,
So my sd card (16gb) appears to have stop working and the phone gives me the message “SD Card is blank or has unsupported filesystem.” This started yesterday after I changed default storage for my camera to sd card. Before that it was working just fine.
I restarted the phone, no luck with that. Turn off phone and remove and cleaned sd card, still no luck. I plugged in my phone to the computer to access the sd card, but did not show up, I guess its cause the card is not mounted? So then I thought I’ll just plug in the sd card to my computer and back up everything and then format to correct, but no that didn’t work… when I plugged it in my computer, my computer did not even recognize my card.
At first I thought maybe my adapter is broken, so I plugged in a spare sd card (1gb) I had lying around and that on worked just fine. So I googled what could be wrong and read that it could be that the adapter does not support HCSD cards. So then I plugged in my sd card into a USB sd card reader (which had a slot for micro sd which I used), but same thing – did not recognize 16gb card, but it did for 1gb card. I checked to see if it’s a driver issue, but it was up to date. Then I doubted the USB card reader didn’t support HCSD like the adapter, so I went out and bought a new USB card reader (one that works with HCSD cards) from bestbuy (Insignia SD/MMC Memory Card Reader). Still did not recognize card with new reader on computer.
I googled to see what my options were, but the solutions that I found all had the computer recognize the card – which mine isn’t doing… but I still tried a few things I read like chkdsk in command prompt, but I got “Cannot open volume for direct access” error.
Even though my computer does not recognize the card, my phone does recognize it but corrupt and offers to format. I also tried it on different phones (Galaxy S2 T989, and Blackberry Bold 9650) to see if it can read it, but same thing it recognizes it but corrupt and unreadable.
I’m still looking around for solutions, but if anyone can help me with this, please do. Please let me know if you need more info.

Sounds like the SD is toast. It's not easy to extract corrupted data from a micro sd card

Copy SD card to larger capacity SDcard.

Hi. I have bought a new 128gbSD card to replace the 64gb card currently in my honor7. My old phone Samsung S3 used to show the card separately as 2 drives when plugged into Windows (7). I could copy the contents of the card as a back up and/or move files from the phone drive to the SD drive.
Now , when I connect my Honor 7 phone to win7, the phone only lists one directory showing all the contents together regardless of it being on the phone memory or the SD card. I need to copy the 64gb SD content onto the new 128gb SD card but I can't see it. Is there a setting or something I should be changing to achieve this. Gently please, I'm a noob when it comes to mobile techie things.
Thanks AJ
Use a micro sd to sd adapter and an sd usb adapter on your pc its the easiest and safest way
Or use this simply from you phone. No computer needed.

Show micro sd card connected to phone as an external sd card on pc.

Hi, I bought this raspberry pi 3 model b and I heard that you need an external micro sd card to boot from. I do have a 32gb micro sdcard that is class 4 which is excellent for use in a raspberry. But, my pc does not have a port for micro sd cards and I wonder (because I used to transfer files via my phone to get it to the sdcard) if there is a way to make the phones sdcard show up as another device (external storage) on the pc. All my android devices have superuser acces if that is needed. If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me via pm or this thread.
Btw, I am not planning to buy a sdcard reader but if that is the only option I will do it.
