Hi,
I have two problems. One is that the phone randomly shuts down. At first the network loses connection, screen starts to flicker and the phone shuts down. The battery had also swollen. And when the phone was working and I did a reboot, the battery level went to 1%. Then I bought a new battery and it didn't fix the problem. Is this a battery problem or phone problem?
The second problem is that the random shutdown occured again, so I put the phone to charge for the night and now in the morning it's not going past the Samsung Galaxy S II i9100 screen. I can go to the Recovery Mode and Download Mode. Should I flash Stock ROM or do I have to do something else before flashing? Which Odin should I use, the v1.83 or v3.04?
Thank You.

Hmm ...
1. If you switched the battery and problem is still the same, it doesn't seem to be a battery issue. Maybe somethings wrong/damaged with your phone.
2. I recommend to flash a stock ROM to check if the issues are still there. You can use Odin v1.83, v1.85 or v3.04. I am using Odin v1.85 as I have downloaded it first and it works fine. It's your choice. Probably the newer version (v3.04) is better.
Good luck !

With reference to the first problem, this is definitely a battery problem, if you continue to use a swollen battery it could leak or explode

I recommend you get a new battery before attempting to rectify the software issue

I have changed the swollen battery, the new battery is fine now. But the random shutdown still occurs.

Hallo brothers and sister,
I own a beautiful white Samsung Galaxy S2 since December 2011.
A couple of months ago I flashed my SGS2 to Jellybean Spain(My phone is XEN, Benelux).
Everything went fine, and I didn't screw up while flashing.
But about 2 hours ago, sh*t went down..
My SGS2 suddenly frooze.
Pressing the home button and even pressing the power button didn't recover my SGS2 from the freeze.
So I decided to pull my battery out.
After about 2 seconds, I placed my battery back, but my SGS2 wouldn't reboot.
It was stuck at 'Samsung i9100'.
So I pulled the battery out for the second time.
But this time it wouldn't reboot at all!
It also won't go to download mode.
I've ordered a JIG, but there is a chance it is hardbricked.
Does somebody had/has the same problem?
And does somebody know if my SGS2 is a hard- or softbrick?
Maybe battery is busted, borrow one from a friend or sonething like that.
Phone don't die just like that.

i bricked mine once pulling the battery when it was turning off...
and it ddint wanted to boot up again, had to flash stock from odin and wipe for ti to work again
Does your phone get warm (the screen mostly at the sensors and the back of your phone) when you have your battery inserted?
Yes, it does.
But after a while it stops getting warm, and it starts again when I connect my charger to my phone.

I can't tell you for sure what the problem is but that sort of happened to my phone too, and it was a hardbrick, my emmc chip got f****d. The warranty covered it up so I got it fixed at the shop. And i called Samsung Support Service and they told me that Samsung phone has 2 years warranty so just go to your shop and they should fix it.

I have flashed my phone, do you think they will see that?
If it's dead dead they won't, if it's not they might.

I've noticed a glitch that's developed on my phone recently. Let me describe the behavior after I hit the glitch: the first symptom that I recognize is that the LCD won't turn on as soon as I press the power button. It takes a random amount of time since the press: sometimes 3 seconds, sometimes longer, or even don't turn on at all. My only choice is then to pull the battery off! After the glitch is hit, the battery drains super fast.
The only correlation I've managed to muster is the Wifi. I think it happens if the Wifi goes down while the phone is connected. I think it also happens if I switch access points (for example when I move to one building to another at work).
It appears as if something related to Wifi is stuck in a busy loop or something. My only graceful exit out of the problem is to reboot the phone. Often I couldn't act in time and have had missed alarms and such.
I also know that it's a recent development; something that I've noticed happening only for couple of months. I'm thinking of resetting the phone to factory settings and starting over again. Before I do that I thought I'd ask around if this sounds something familiar or tastes like any known issues. Is there any diagnostics or logs that I can provide? Or are they any apps that I can install that can tell what's eating the battery so fast (currently it's telling me Android OS!)?
My phone is Karbonn A9+ (bought from India) and runs Android 4.0.4.
Reflash the stock rom via sp flash tool
You dont have to root to flash it
Press :highfive: thanks :good: if helped

Hi there,
For a few days now I have been experiencing random reboots of my phone and I've always just thought that it was the ROM I was on (Omega) as I did not update it for a time (Not too long). Now the phone has decided to keep rebooting and I have installed a recovery of a stock ROM. It also won't turn on sometimes and when it does it just shows a picture of a battery when plugged into a charger. Sometimes it shows charge and sometimes it says there is no charge at all. It also turns itself off sometimes when plugged into a charger. I am not sure whether this is SDS? Any ideas to save my S3?
Cheers,
Jon

Try changing the battery. Confirmed to be working by some users.

Flash a full stock firmware with odin and factory reset, if still the same then it's hardware.

Have you even thought about it possibly being your battery? I've had problems with my battery in the past and just replacing it has fixed most issues.

Flashed a stock ROM, unrooted as well. Problems still occurred and now trying a factory reset. If that doesn't work then I will try a new battery. If all else fails it may have to go back to Samsung as I'm still under warranty.
You should have really tried replacing your battery before anything. It seems like that's the problem
I'm not too sure what is happening here, but my phone has been acting all month. Sometimes it randomly shuts off on it own, afterwards i would just restart the phone, and it would work fine. Today it did the same thing, but now my phone won't reboot. it'll power up for about 2 seconds, and immediately shut off. For the most of the part Im thinking it might be a software issue, not my battery. Im running a Phoenix Rom from another galaxy s4 carrier with a patch to work with Verizon models. At this point I can't doing anything with my phone (enter recovery or download mode). Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Chris -
The only time my S4 did that was when the battery was totally depleted. I suggest plugging it in and charging for a couple of hours and then reboot. If that still doesn't work - it might be time to replace it. good luck!
I have read several posts where people were having similar issues and it ended up being a bad power switch.
You might check that out.

Current rom :-Cm12
Recovery :-cwn
Looking for a good friend with good mind to help ..
This won't probably help you a lot
I'm not really sure that you can do something about it . Think about it that problem doesn't exist because of your rom or something like that those problems shown up after your phone fell of your desk so probably something broke inside your pone and that's what causes your problems (This is my theory it might not be right).
