Hello all - still new here, need some help. Installed AOKP and now running CM10 (12/09 build). I have the same issue with both, when i open google search from the search bar or dragging up from the home button it opens but as the "cards" pull up it crashes. Can only google from a browsers or voice search.
Any suggestions ?
Anyone out there
Still having my issue, found another ...
I'm getting a DRM issue when trying to play content from HULU Plus? Any way to fix this also?
Current version of Google Now integrated camera search and for whatever reason became incompatible with the CM10 build for the tablet. My understanding is that development is moving on to CM 10.1 which will be based on 4.2 so for now there is no solution but to use the version of Google Now prior to the latest update.

ok so i have tried both builds of the current ics builds on our forum, great work devs. but i really like the chrome beta browser, i have a broken atrix, that it ried it on and it works awesome. but on my sg2 it sucks. all it does is constantly crash. i donwloaded it straight from the market so its the official build. i have also tried the previous version and the version without the build prop. and all seem to be the same thing, it just always crashes and force closes, anyone else having this problem? im aware that its in beta but on the atrix its very stable

It's my understanding that it runs on ICS. I was not aware you could run it on gingerbread.
i am running ics , on both sg2 and atrix. it opens fine, and sometimes works but most of the time it just crashes on the sg2, on the atrix it works awesome. i just wanted to know with both builds of ics that we currently have on our forum for the sg2 at&t, if anyone is seeing this constant crashses too
I haven't had a single crash using Entropy's firmware build. In fact, the chrome experience on my SGSII is pretty fahkin awesome!

I'm using the version that Entropy posted as I said: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512900
and I linked my Google account when I signed in. Using whatever market came with it.. not sure what you mean by the official market version.

Hello, I've tried all of the google now zips from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756226&postcount=2856
google now does load up and work for 1 or 2 questions but then the phone will freeze and either reboot or lockup, I've checked the file permissions and everything is correct, I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this on their ICS Atrix 4G, mine is unlocked from Bell Canada running CWM and Turl's most recent CM9
I've had the same problem with Google Now on ICS and have tried everything before finally upgrading to Jelly Bean (I can't live without Project Butter anymore). All those different builds, each one having different issues, right? I have always thought it was just me, but now I see I am not alone... Or maybe it's just us...
Anyway, every single one of my attempts to make it work have failed.
I do have a solution for you though: Maluuba (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ce=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=maluuba)
It's an app available for free on the Google Play Store. It's a bit different from Google Now, it's more like a Siri alternative.

An update to Google Maps was released in the last couple of days. After updating, when I open the app it crashes after a few seconds and reboots my tablet. Is anyone else seeing this behavior?
I'm on the cm9-p4wifi-20120511.zip ROM. Prior to this issue, the ROM had been completely stable for me. I wasn't planning on changing ROMs until an IC or JB ROM had a working camera, but now I'm thinking I might experiment just to get Maps working again.
Before I do that however, does anyone have any suggestions on getting Maps stable so I don't have to flash just yet?
Thank you.
Same here, Maps 6.10.0 crash few seconds after been loaded w/CM9 aug 15
You should do a wipe cache, erase data from settings >> app >> maps or probably you should change you kernel flashing a new one
I have also the same problem. Wiping cache changes nothing. I use cm9-p4-20120814.zip ROM.

I updated to the latest CM9 nightly last night, cm-9-20120819-NIGHTLY-p4wifi, and Maps is still crashing.
6.10 is buggy. I only updated it on my Sensation and it causes reboots when I use it, and causes reboots for Rezound users as well. Guess we all have to roll back or wait for an update.
Can anyone post the previous .apk? I haven't been good about keeping Titanium Backups, I admit.
Here's version 6.9.2 - http://goo.gl/4p2O9
thank you, 6.9.2 is OK, no crash.
new google maps 6.11 = same crashes.
back to 6.9.2.
p4wifi, update Maps to 6.11.1. Same problem. The crash occurs each time I enter an area that is cached for offline use, or when I try to modify the offline settings.... or after just a few seconds. Not only the app crashes (that would report the issue to Google, which could be useful), but it directly crashes the tablet (possibly a kernel panic, I have no console so no clue).
I'm having this issue with maps crashing my Samsung tab 10.1 AOKP milestone 6 and my Sensation running cyanogen 9 and when I flashed revolutionary rom with sense. I noticed on the sensation in location settings the GPS source was not checked off (cyanogen). After I chose internal source the problem stopped. There is not this option on the tablet AOKP so it still crashes. Not sure if anyone else is seeing this issue.

Same problem here, with Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 on latest Ganbarou ROM. Current GMaps reboots the tablet after few seconds. I looked for GPS Source setting and it's present on Ganbarou ROM. However, it is correctly checked and problem still persists. Looks more like a kernel/driver bug invoked by GMaps, putting tablet into kernel panic.
galaxy tab cm9 maps crashes
I have this issue as well. Its a version conflict. You need to install v6? Or something like that. Anyone have the link? Its somewhere on droid basement i just havent found it

(Fairly) new S2 user here. Gotta say, coming from an Apple device, Android is leagues ahead.
I've got a particular question regarding the music player in Samsung's stock 2.3.6/4.0.4. Is it possible to use either of these with a Jelly bean ROM? I've tried installing them both at random times, and the phone will immediately state "App Not Installed." However, I've seen people do the same thing for other stock samsung apps that work just fine.
If it helps, I'm running Jellybam 3.3.0. Patiently waiting for their servers to come back from the dead so I can get 4.0.0
Thanks in advance!

What ROM are you running

He use JellyBam.
Man, use the sony walkman that i think came with jellybam or install google play from store.
I was using that before buy poweramp that is the best player on last 12 months.
You can also try Xenoamp beta from xda. Search for it.
About sansung apps you do need to know 1 thing.
There are 2 kinds of Roms.
1- official sansung release base
2- aosp roms
Exclusive Apps from 1 wont work on 2.
Not a big deal cuz there is better options out there.

Thanks guys. After much reading and your help, I came across that conclusion.
I'm a little less noobish everyday
I got the player to work from another rom.

Check this thread - I installed this in my root folder and it works. The only thing iffy is the search function which if you select from the "suggested" items that pop up - crashes the app. But if you type it in and hit the search button (not the suggested) it works flawlessly.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1815588&page=2
Used it on CM Mod9,10. JellyBAM, and AOKP roms.
All working except for that small bug in the search.
You guys should check out Mediamonkey, it's pretty bad ass.

Hello, the google voice typing works fine on stock rom but after i installed paranoid android it stopped working.
If i tried to use it in the google search at the top of the page it would say that google search has stopped and closes the app but if i tried in the messaging app it would give me the same error (i think but it disappears to fast to see) and the keyboard disappears and wont come back and the only way to get the keyboard to appear again in every app is to go into language and input and disable google voice typing.
I have tried returning to stock rom where it works fine and then installing Paranoid android again but the same thing happens and it doesnt work. I also just installed a different rom called carbon and it also doesnt work on that.
It works fine for my friend who has also used the same roms from the same download link.
I thought it may be something to do with the G apps file i downloaded and thought about downloading a different version but when i checked the two custom roms they both came with different date G apps so i dont think thats the problem.
Anyone have any idea on what else i could try to get it working as i use this feature a lot.
Thanks.
I'm having exactly the same issue but with PAC-ROM on my HTC One.
Can I ask:
Does the Google voice search app work for you?
Is it telling you there's an update to Google Search, but giving you an error when it tries to update?
Thanks
EDIT:
Just fixed it by flashing this gapps:
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip
Hope it works for you too
