Hey Guys,
Recently I made an icon pack but I realized that on my LSJ most of the default apps icons don't appear because of the Samsung Apps (like phone, calendar (S Planner) etc)
Is there an app to view the process/activity name?
Would be great if there was such a tool, I could then edit my packs.
Use Apex launcher.
On the home screen, tap and hold on an empty space and select shortcuts -> activities.
There you have a list of apps and the activities they generate.
I used it to create an icon for task manager since it was missing in lsj.

How would I go about changing the icon & name of an application? Or removing the app from my app list without uninstalling it..
You can do this with DX-Top. Install icon packs and fonts,rename apps and hide apps.
Vibrant vibrating nicely now,Kthx!

If you are looking to change the icon and name of an app on any of your homescreens, then that's easily done with any of the newer versions of Launcher Pro. Just update the software, and when you add an icon to the homescreen, it will show you a window allowing you to change the name and icon of a shortcut. Hiding apps from the launcer is also a feature of Launcher Pro. Just go into Launcher Pro preferences, general settings, and hidden apps. From there, hide what you want.

The icons in menu cant be deleted. However, most alt launchers will let you hide icons in the menu.

Aha, what is with apps/games what i downloaded can I move them?
Your app drawer contains all apps on your phone, usually in alphabetical order... some launchers allow you to hide apps, some allow your to create folders within the drawer to group them, some allow you to re-order the drawer..
Personally, I prefer to leave all the apps in the drawers and create shortcuts to them (by dragging and dropping as you mentioned) onto the desktop and categorising the pages.. ie, I have a page of favourite games, a page of tools/ utilities, a page of media related stuff!, and a central home page with a clock and meridian music widget on it.. and finally, and page with a full page calendar widget on it.
Hello, I want to hide icon of app in Android.
which launcher?
for most of them, it is from home screen, menu button, preferences
If it's the icon in the App Drawer you want to hide, use a Launcher that allows you to do this. Launcher Pro does iirc.
If it's the icon on a Homescreen you just need to change the current one for one that's transparent..and most 3rd party Launchers allow you to do that. I've attached a transparent icon for you if you need it. Un-zip it, save it to your phone and either use your Launcher to edit the current icon or use an app called 'Desktop Visualizer' to do the same.
Hello guys,
Looking at the number of people asking for a Metro UI look Guide i have decided to make this,This is my First ever guide,So if i go wrong somewhere go easy on me
Necessary Softwares Required
1) ADW Launcher
2)Desktop Visualizer
3)Multipicture Live Wallpaper
4)Minimalistic Text
Step 1: ADW Launher
* Install ADW launcher
* Go to ADW settings -> UI Presets -> main dock-> disable main dock
* Screen Preference-> Desktop Columns =9
Rows=5 ( you can give rows and columns number like you please,this just adjusts the widgets size )
*Under Advanced settings in screen preference - Enable Overlap Widgets
* You might Notice an Annoying blue line on top of the screen (to Remove it)
-long press on the screen and Select Launcher Actions
-Add Show/Hide Status Bar.then add it to screen click it.blue line disappears and Delete the show/hide status bar you have added.
*Disable Wallpaper Scrolling.
Okay now you are done ADW launcher for now! Good job! Now lets procees to the next step .
Step 2: Multilivewallpaper
*Long press on main screen -> wallpaper->live wallpaper -> you can select individual wallpapers for each screen(this is left to you)
* So after selecting wallpapers,you can change the transtition effect and stuff to your taste!
Step 3: Desktop VisualizeR
*Download the Icons pack i have attached and extract it in you tab.
*On Main Screen ->Long Press->Widgets->Desktop visualizer-> Choose 2x1 or 2x2 which ever you like (1x1 is also fine) .
*You will notice a widget will be added on your screen -> click it-> now it asks you to choose an icon -> select an icon from the icon pack you have extracted(consider you are making " books" widget.so select books image icon)
*Next it will ask for an Action to be executed -> select launch an app-> Ebook app(moon reader or whatever you use)
*Clear the Text Label Which will be below .
* Press ok and you are done
***REPEAT Step 3 every time you want to add an widget .
Step 4: Minimalistic Text(if you get confused ,i would recommend you to see some youtube videos on how to configue minimalistic text)
* long press on the screen ->minimalistic text widget->2*1 Size
*Untick show background
*Horizontal block ->left
*vertical Block->Center
*predefined layout->custom
now click custom layout which would be enabled down
*now you will see some boxes .long press them and drag and drop on the bin (its like removing an icon from the homescreen)
*After Removing everything ->select the green plus sign to add button->misc->static text(drag and drop on top i,e left to the green plus button)
*click on static text->give text "start"
Style->accented
*done press minus->press ok
*Now go to Accented it will be few rows below custom layout
*you can select the text style which u want.(i myself used size 50 ,thats all i did not make any more changes)
*Check "disable Action on tap" .Check this one
*press ok and your done
Step 4:
* you will be able to see the minimalistic widget you created ,drag and keep at one side.
*long press->launcher action->open app drawer
*now long press the open app drawer icon you created. Delete the text you see now click on the icon->select picture->select the transparent picture i provided.
*now place this "invisible icon on top left corner*
Now what our intention is we want to overlap the start text we created from minimalistic text and invisible icon ,so that when we click start ,app drawer should open. now bring in the start widget on same row ,notice u will not be able to place widget on top of each other so just place it by its side,then long press on start widget and edit then resize the widget so that it overlaps on the invisible app drawer widget.
Step 5: HD widgets
I used this app for the Clock and Weather widgets
End Product should look like the Screenshot i have Attached.
Thank you.
Hi dear friend...
Good guide you wrote, I didn't vote because I didn't read it all...
Can you please put the required APPs on this thread, so that it will be all together? If they're free, of course...
Thanks...

Hi, I tested Sidebar, GYF and Action Launcher.
The one that is nearly what I'm looking for is GYF. What I want? Sidebar menu that is present only on homescreen, and one that I can choose what apps I want there. GYF does this, but is there any way (or app), that will open it's menu using this: https://github.com/jfeinstein10/SlidingMenu ?
