[Q] [xperia p] best custom rom? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

what is the best custom rom for xperia p? a battery friendly fast and smooth rom no bugs...
i'm on ICS 6.1.B.0.544 lock bootloader
do i need to upgrade to 6.1.1.B.1.54 to install custom rom and what recovery to use
i'm new to xperia phone so help is much appreciated thanks

It depends on rom whether you have to update or not as gar as best it varies from person to person
Sent from my ST25i using Tapatalk 2

No one can tell what's the best rom for you, you need to try by yourself because we dont like same things and dont know which rom you will like best
Sent from my LT22i using xda premium

i have the same question for locked bootloader - but which rom is the fastest?

im on stock but from what ive read The Brains Rom sounds like the best

None
Sent from Xplanet

Cm9 by fxp works butterly smooth..( but then again it need an unlocked bootloader.

Highly recommanded to use stock rom with a good kernel like Sliding_XP , you can install modes from recovery and make changes as you wish
Sent from my LT22i using xda premium

stock + sliding kernel 7.4
for me stock + sliding kernel 7.4
+ tweaks and customization like BE2, walkman, XZ theme and status bar, cybershot + camera fix

Bumping a 3 month old Thread, well never the less there is no best ROM & Kernel.....it was is best for you the individual. Thanks

Havent been following this group for a while since getting my Galaxy S2. However, after a year on Wolfbreak 6.0, i think it is time to upgrade my x10 to the latest stable. Any recommendations or short list? Thx.

yeah I'd love some suggestions aswell. I installed wolfbreak, but I don't have wifi, and some other minor errors... It's really fast, so I'm keeping it for now, but if I could find another rom wich is as fast and has wi-fi, that would rock.
I'm gonna try feralab JAF. should I use thkernel v12-4 instead of ferakernel?
should I flash rom first through xrecovery and then kernel via flash tool?
thanks all

You must flash WIFI module after you installed Wolfbreak ROM, it's depends of wich kernel you use. If you use Doomkernel you will find Wifi module in that tread...

Try JAF ROM or the Achotjan's and I am sure you will like it~
Donut hd 2.2.7 . Stable , fast, smooth , beautiful look and no bug/FC... and games also runs smooth on this rom.
Try this :

Or wait for DiXperia8 "eXtraordinary".
It'll be up in a week or so. It is XperiaS themed, I've tested it and I can say its the fastest XperiaS themed rom so far
For more info on DiXperia8 you can go to the following links :

Suggestion
If locked BL, try JAF Rom by FeraVolt with Thkernel
And for Unlocked BL, try Mokee ^^
Both really nice, happy flashing
I used almost all roms for Xperia X10 but FERALAB JAF ROM is the fastest and stable rom I ever used. Try it.

Neo V fast-good looking ics based rom-kernel

Xperia neo V
CWM:5.0.2.7(I think)
Hi I am was bored of the stock rom and I am looking for a better one ...
I found so many of them. I cant see the difference.
I am looking for a fast and good battery life ics based rom-kernel(all say night elfs is good) coz load my phone with apps that I might need on my sd(class 10)
I found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313445
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623940
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738055
I dont know what else is out "there". :cyclops:
I've patched BL.with (" r ")
Have anyone tryed custom roms for neo v to tell me which one will be good for me?
also its my first time I try to flash custom. I think I've done something like that for .62 GB I dont know / for root trick
(English is not My Primary Language)
Well there is only one way to know. You have to try them all.
About installing the ROM, follow the instructions the ROM dev gives you and you'll be fine.
Sent from my MT11i using xda premium
Head into the dev section, there you'll find loads of custom ROMS..
And just like @DeathCzar said you have to try all of them to know which one is better in terms of looks, performance and battery life!
It all depends from person to person..
Some ROMS which we love you might not like much!
So it's better to try them on your own and then review them!
All the best!
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using Tapatalk 2
ok good
can say fast-clean roms only?... I hate for ex.when I open the dialer to wait 20 secs and then type the phone number.
tell me from the roms had you have tried.
I dont care about fancy homepages or animations. I want Performance .
All ROM devs aim for what you say. But I'd suggest you try AOKP ICS/CM9 if you want most of the things working + speed.
Also if you need HDMI, try any stock based ROM.

i can use night elf kernel?
and coz I am new to custom roms why some guides say to flash it with flashboot and some guides say only install with wipe from cwm? and if you install with cwm you install at the same time new kernel?
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=haida&type=stable
Edit: I think I got it.CM9.1 with night elf kernel ....
the only thing I dont like is "SIM network unlock PIN"
It's better to use the kernel that is inside the zip file of the ROM!
And for your doubts, kernels are flashed through fastboot and ROMS are installed through CWM..
And when installing a ROM we wipe data, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache and any other thing as mentioned by the developer of the ROM!

[Q] Downgrade from CM9 to stock rom 2.3.4...

Used Cyanogenmod 9 stable rom for some months now. Makes the phone fast. But a few bugs and small problems that makes me want to go back to GB 2.3.4
Camera is not to good, mms problems, touch feel on screen is a bit to crappy. And now i lost my wifi.. But i think that is my fault for playing with gemini app manager.
Anybody have any experience with going back from rom to stock? I have also unlocked bootloader.
So in sence i want my phone to run GB 2.3.4 and rooted so i can get rid of the bloatware if i must.
If a rom exists just as the stock i would like to know to. I guess that maby more easy to do???
I have the Mt15i version.
Flash stock-based rom

Did you install any other patches or addons like gapps or does everything work great without? And where did you find nightelf kernel for this rom? the link that is here for stock kernel is dead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566168
I just want a good stable mobile and not a gamers phone.

Is it true ICS on Xperia Neo V is full of bugs?

I want to try ICS on my Neo V however from I'm reading it's too buggy. Can anyone with the official ICS confirm if this is true or not. Thanks in advance
Sent from my MT11i using Tapatalk 2
if you're gamer, stick with GB, but if you're regular user. then sure go ahead, it have some bugs, but definitely NOT Full of bugs.
& if you modified your Rom with Xperia S/T/Go etc application, you gonna love your New Rom
Its not full of bugs...
Its laggy though but no battery drains whatsoever..and with some tweaks it can be reduced,to an extent...
Still it can't match GB

I would try the ROM by myself. If you're not satisfied with it and you don't want to try custom roms, then you can flash back via flashtool.

"Full of bugs" is improperly said. The only bugs are Led notification working only for calls, and camera sound recording is mono and a little [email protected] stock launcher is kinda laggy, but the newest Xperia Jellybean launcher is super smooth. If you're a gamer, stay on GB,if not upgrade to 4.0.4. I'm using stock 587 moded with many apps/features from Xperia S/T/V,so now it doesn't even look like a 2011 Xperia,it looks like a NXT Xperia, and i definitely love it.
