Gangstar Rio City Of Saints has aweful lag on my phone, been told to try different Roms so I'm in the process of downloading a couple to see if it helps.... I don't hold mush help
Disagree with me? then please tell me what rom/kernel you are using so I can check it out, I download Roms on my phone directly so trying tens and tens isn't practicle for me

I already mentioned in one of your threads lol..that gangstar rio hasnt been optimized for s2..so it will lag no matter what rom u use

Try modern combat 4,it has lags.

yh mc4 lags a bit..but i hope they do optimize it before releasing it finally on android..the leaked version could not be optimized

I have play store version no lag and the beta didn't lag and it's full HD. I think your phone, plus ram and space, has to do with how your phone performs, don't be like a female that drives the car only, she doesn't know anything bout it. it's like having your computer, it gets slow and cloggy with low memory.

On topic: Games work on the Samsung Galaxy Player? While I joke a bit, I am serious at the same time. The only games I have been able to run on the Samsung Galaxy Player are the Rovio games (angry birds, alex) and Sonic CD aka 2d games. Games I use to play on Android that were my favorite were Dead Space, Mass Effect Infiltrator, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, and numerous other richly graphical games just run out of memory, freeze, crash, or reboot the device. This could be because almost every custom rom breaks games in general on the Galaxy Players - I'm on the Ethereal Rom only to have better battery life.
I'm only holding out because I don't want to set up everything again and await the ICS rom/kernal us 4.0 users have been patiently waiting for.
Stock rom btw has everything working because I played them before rooting - especially the games I mentioned above. If anything, if the ICS rom/kernal doesn't meet my expectations - I'll revert back to stock and stay there with a custom Launcher like Go or Holo, only to keep root and use Klin R3 or Terrasilent for kernal to have Voodoo.
So imo, if you have a custom rom on your device, don't count on MC4 to work... MC3 doesn't...
Yes. I do find that (no offence devs) that my performance has dropped a bit on the gaming side of things. However Asphalt 7 runs real nice and before I switched to Remics-UX Nova 3 was smooth as well. However Modern Combat 3 dosn't start at all anymore. But it wasn't the smoothest of all games. It only ran smooth on 2.3. MC4 Looks only a little better graphicsso it might run but I have that gut feeling. I sometimes think "why don't I switch back to 2.3"? And it's hard not to.

so i bought MC4 for my galaxy note n7000 , and the game loads fine but when i start to play it.. and i click the start button at the beging of the first level it loads then when i push the button it just crashes. does anyone have any advise for me.. please.

Technically this isn't the note forum but are you running a custom ROM?
I succeeded it running on Nebula ICS, It walks fine but when in some conflict area, it is so laggy. I think trying it with linrom would be good.

I've been experiencing lag when playing most games on my One X+, even Tegra optimised ones. Shadowgun THD is very choppy and so is Deadzone, GTA 3 is choppy, Dead Trigger isn't great but is fairly smooth and what confuses me is that Riptide GP plays well and Mass Effect Infiltrator is good too. I'm using this phone in the UK on O2. I'm wondering whether I have a faulty device or a software issue? Normal day to day use has been lag free. I've seen some users saying that their One X+'s are playing games very smoothly so any feedback/advice from other users would be greatly appreciated
Hey there man! Welcome to xda! This is a queer problem you are facing, check the ram usage. Perhaps there are several background processes running, bogging the system down. The hardware is perfect, no problem there! If the problem persists after a reboot, try downloading chain fire 3D for better gpu management. Hope i helped!

My phone plays those games with power savings on and no lagg you have a software issue

With power saver mode enabled the battery on mine will easily last a whole day, when playing games the battery is significantly drained though. So yeah, the battery isn't great.

I don't have my device yet, so cannot confirm, but if i understood all of that the right way the gaming issues are due to cpu-management e.g. governer.
You could also root your device and use setcpu or something similar to set your governer to other states and retry these games.

So try live wallpapers and let my know ,,, (use the HTC stock ones) many the UK box+ have same issues. My phone lag too if I surfinling this site. And after 10 min of gaming its start to heavy lags cuz of heat I think

I just tried Live Wallpapers and yeah, I can see a very slight stutter every now and then .
I installed the insertcoin rom and even with intensive 3d wallpapers, water, mybeach, season zen, etc it is all very smooth prolly above 50fps at all time mainly 60fps, however games like horn and avengers initiative lag for sime reason even though they are supposed to be oiptimized for tegra! they don`t even lag on the nexus 7, wth is going on!

Guys, if you are experiencing this problem, take a look at the thread nchantmnt posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1783260. I rooted my phone (no custom ROM, although I may try one when more become available), I then installed this app and it has fixed my problems . GTA 3 is now smooth and so is Shadowgun Deadzone! Thanks for all your help guys!
Ps: I hope that an official firmware update is released to address this issue! Although this app is a good fix, it would be good to just be able to play games nicely without having to root and run a booster app.

Does anyone have performance problems like lagging or frame drops while playing Rockstar Games (GTA 3, Max Payne...)?
I noticed it when I moved to JB on my TF201. Whole system is a lot faster tan ICS but GTA 3 is really lagging. On ICS it was really smooth and I played it a lot. I tried different ROMs, different kernels, wipe device etc. Can someone help me?
Ya gaming on JB took a hit. Too bad since this was supposed to be a powerful gaming tab

No troubles at all playing gta3 on my prime.
What ROM are you using? Could you please post some video of you playing it? I would like to see framerate and things like that. Thanks.

Androwook 1.51 is the way to go!
Solved almost all my gaming problems!! Very smoother

It does have some lag here and there if I am not in performance mode.

i finally unlocked prime, installed androwook, great.
but i was still having lag playing GTA3, i then uninstalled Apex Launcher and had no problems after, i been playing the game since yesterday and no major lag, occasional but very little, hardly noticeable.
Its now nothing like it was before and running on max display settings
install PPSSPP from google play store and play all PSP games on your android phone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Search for proper setting for your particular game
DAYMNNN!!!!! guys use GOOGLE for settings PPSSPP is in beta stage thaty its lagging in sme games
Some? I tried Monsterhunter, GTA liberty city stories, Patapon, Fifa 14, etc. and ALL OF THEM lags

I know how to use google and I have been using this PSP emulator since earlier version, as for the forum I know its existence and I visited it many times and read through. And yes, I have play around with all the psp setting too. Just to let you know that I am not someone who is lazy to find answer by googling. The reason I ask people to give reviews about tested games here is because I think it is easier to discuss it over here since all of us using the same phone, also this thread is already here, why can' t we make use of it? Castlevania Dracula x chronicles works fast on our device (despite symphony of the night not working...)
Tales of the world radiant mythology 3 crashes after some battles...
And Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is super laggy...
I have tried a lot of games, about 30++ , and because it's been long ago so I'm not really remember how was it, but as I remember the games that works well are Bleach Heat The Soul 7 and Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai.

It will be good on s2 i guess, since its not pretty bad on s advance , and yes i think overclocking might help too, but the most important thing is you must know how to play with the settings, different game will have different performance even though with the same settings

as you may know rockstar released GTA Liberty city stories for android some weeks ago but its not a cheap game! i have note 3 neo and galaxy s2 i9100.
i cannot find the app in playstore of my note 3 neo but i can on my s2.

Sorry to say, but GTA:LCS isn't optimized well and it's a bit laggy even on S4 Mini.

but i cant understand that gta 3 ran very well on our s2
gta 3 and lcs are quite the same game. why doesnt gta lcs run also than, i cant understand how bad they can optimize games... gta sa ran also good on our device and its even a much more better game!

It's because GTA:LCS (also VCS) uses different game engine - Leeds Engine - which was designed only for consoles with low memory, but high CPU and GPU performance. The GTA from 3 to SA for android were based on RenderWare for PC, that's why these works fine.
Anyway there s no sense to make it lag free on s2 because of poor battery life of the phone
