In case you didn't know, the list of HTC devices that'll get JB has been leaked : http://www.androidauthority.com/htc-phones-jelly-bean-update-list-twitter-leak-137928/
Here's a paragraph very interesting about our HOX+ :
First off, we have the “Evitare”, which is the recently released One X+ with LTE. The thing is this big buy already runs Android 4.1, so either Football mentions it to ensure us that it’ll get 4.2 or it’s a mistake. The “Evita” is the One XL, which is basically a regional version of the One X. This was released way back in May with ICS, so a JB upgrade is definitely long overdue.

I choose to believe we'll get 4.2 !
well done captain obvious....there was zero doubt that the HOX+ would get 4.2.*
Evitare = AT&T HOX+
enrc2b = International HOX+
I thought HTC had a rule whenever they released a device that they had to supply al least 3 Android updates for the phone. They did not always keep that promiss, but with a high end phone like the HOX+ you will at least get 2 Android updates
(With Android updates i mean a newly released version like 4.2)

This thread serves absolutely no purpose. Everybody knows that One X+ will get 4.2.
So ppl, I already wrote that on another thread I closed: Even though this is General section it does not mean that every nonsense thread/post is tolerated.
Thanks for understanding

To the point: Since both the AT&T and Global versions of the One X+ share Tegra 3 this time around, will development of ROMS and software be able to work on both devices? The Lack of options and the inability to use Google Wallet on the One X for AT&T kind of held it back. Hopefully now that the processor will be the same as the global model, We can truly have a great device with amazing dev support...
I'm interested in the answer to that as well.
If the answer is a yes, I'll have to work on switching from Verizon to get this phone ASAP.

Hi,
So I have been a member of this forum since I had my first HTC phone (the Inspire). Recently (maybe a year or so ago?) I got my HTC One X+ (AT&T) and I was looking forward to custom ROMs since there were numerous problems with them on my Inspire (look at my past posts). I am running Elegancia 5.2.0 which is still based on the 4.1.1 Jellybean. I want to move to a custom ROM with a 4.2.2 base, but the only things I find are international versions of the ROMs. Have developers completely just forgotten the AT&T/ Telus versions of the phone? Why is no one developing ROMs for both versions of the phone anymore? Is there anyone that is working on an updated ROM for the AT&T/ Telus version? I understand that developers are dedicating their time to produce these ROMs, but why has the other version of the phone just become completely forgotten?
Sorry for the rant, but I had to get this off since it has gotten agonizing not being able to run the newest Android OS with a custom ROM since no one produces anything else except international versions. Thanks for reading.

If on anyone blame it on AT&T. They have not released to us the 4.2.2 update. Devs are always with us and still developing amazing pieces of work... you just have to read to see.

All the problems can pretty much be blamed on the carriers almost exclusively. There are devs who would make a updated rom if they had the source. As for porting international ROMs over, as was common practice for the Inspire 4G and Desire HD, there are apparently hardware issues that come up that devs either can't fix, or just don't want to spend unneeded time trying to get working. (Like LTE)
In short, yell at ATT and/or Google and the manufactures for allowing carriers to hold up updates to fill it with crapware.

Thanks for explaining it to me guys. It just is annoying me to death.
i have also bought a htc one x+ instead htc one x international version (even though both were of same price).. didnt see the development ratio 1st and now i m regretting my purchase...
nothing much to test/play arround only elegancia and venom XL :crying:
Yeah, from what I understand it's got a lot to do with the hardware. Seems very few phones are using the tegras, etc. and as a result very few devs end up with the device...basically, it's just much easier to develop for the more standardized hardware so those are the devices the devs gravitate to. Add on to that very small number of devs that there's no s-off, no 4.2.2 update, etc. and you have your reason.
I was also hoping to have more to play around with on this phone, but unfortunately that seems highly unlikely. As time goes on we'll probably see less development and fewer devs rather than the other way around.
It's not forgotten about

our desire x runs with more than 512mb of ram and samsung galaxy s3 has the same android version so will we get it or not?
I don't think so. The update to KitKat would need HTC developers upgrading our kernel along with their proprietary drivers, so we would have to do that on our own...
I imagine lots of these threads being started and closed as they were for Jellybean & Sense5, So i'll try to sum it up... If we get it officially (Highly unlikely) then we'll be waiting quite a while and then alot longer for kernel sources, A custom rom will most likely be in the Works Once a simialar device (e.g. OneS) gets an update or Rom. And we will most Likely Get a CM Port aswell which will also take a while to be fully working.
So don't expect it anytime soon, and before anyone says "But the One/Max/S4/S3/etc Already has it" Just to Remind some new users The DesireX is not a flagship Device and is therefor Probably not on the first halve of HTC's priority Support/Update list.
And Just heads up, Mods will probably start Locking these threads and dealing out warnings to people constantly making these threads, Spamming, or Trolling/Flaming
Well it will have a better support for lower-medium end devices,so it might be easier to compile it for our device, then previous versions. But i strongly doubt that there will be an official official release.
Thank you :victory:
Yes! we will get kit Kat! XD
Edit:
HTC wrote: "Hi, Christopher. Our priority will be updating the HTC One family. At this point, we're still working to determine whether we’ll be updating other devices in our product portfolio. Continue to follow us here and we'll keep you posted on upgrade info. Thanks for your patience."
Sent from my HTC Desire X Android KitKat 4.4
As it's fairly unlikely, at least for now, that this device will get the 4.4 update there's no point in keeping this open.
If it's confirmed to get KitKat eventually then I'll get this reopened for discussion.
Until then, thread closed!
Ive been looking through the rom section of this forum, and every single rom i see either doesn't specify or says international version of my phone, its really frustrating, i see a single thread tagged that it supports at&t, and that isn't released yet?
Am i missing something here or are there really just no roms for my device?
Details of my device if this helps at all:
HTC One X+ from AT&T
Android 4.1.1
Sence 4+
Kernel version
"3.1.10-g262c6aa
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT"
You must not have checked here...

There are a couple of ROMS that I would consider to be realistic daily drivers for the One X+. Unfortunately S-off was never achieved for the phone, so there was never much development done for the AT&T version. The people who worked on it did a great job, but the major builds (like Android Revolution) focused on the international model which had a different underlying structure or something which allowed them to get S-off.
Regardless, the two I would suggest checking out are:

and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098218
They are the Elegancia and Viper XL+
These 2 roms by team nocturnal (correct me if i'm wrong) are simply amazing. When our phone finally receives android 4.3 with possible sense 5.5, will these roms get updated to 4.3 as well? I will have this phone for over a year to come as I am just a poor teenager who stumbled upon rooting and the android developement world with an LG Optimus S, and upgraded to the Evo 4G LTE in may of 2013.
Will major developers like NIN and sinistertensei still be developing for our phone?
apologizes if this is a dumb question. Just never know when a developer will move on.

Well we all know amazing roms don't always come from xda. Why don't you ask them personal via Private message. We don't even have sense 5 from HTC and most people doubt we'll see it from them. (As a OTA)

HTC has broken their promise's before, but with the update planned to go into sprint testing in mid january, It's very likely we will see it.
You do make a good point however, I just typed this on the go earlier.

As previously stated by another member, there's really no point in discussing matters like this, when the ROM's are not hosted on XDA.
It's better to post your questions on the Developers own websites. Just Google them. They're pretty easy to find.
So with that said, it's better off to close this thread.
Cheers
