First off this is my first topic in this forum ... please forgive me if i am posting in the wrong section .. i thought this section to be apt cause this opens a new dimension to our small but powerfull O1 ..
Many users have lately shown an interest to use their old and trusty Optimus One as a device for listening to music , gaming and music without the telephony services for prolonging battery life as a lot of energy is used in connecting to 2G/3G device .. so i thought to go ahead and make a guide for all the aPod( as aptly coined by ph37rd ) for themselves or their kids .
Its pretty easy to do it .. all you have to do is root your phone , install titanium backup ... change filter to system/not-backedup .. then remove the following apps from the phone:-
1.dialler.apk ( dial pad+ network manger)
2.dialler storage.apk ( call log)
3.mms.apk ( sms app)
4.messaging.apk ( storage and settings fr sms )
5.stk.apk ( sim services)
Rebpot ur phone .. and voila .. u will not have any network cause the network module stops working .. battery life extended by more or less an hour on heavy usage
The phone will still be able to connect to wi-fi , access play store and do all other normal stuff
PS1:- Be sure to flash a stable rom on the phone .. if you are aiming for gaming , video and music ... i would recomend G-T-R by neko95 ... its good and has lots of tweaks for gaming and video .. + its super smpoth and snappy
PS2:- Contacts.apk ( contact book app ) is an optional removal .. in my opinin .. dont remove it .. let it be .. feed some emergency and important numbers that ur kid can contact to if he/she needs help or is in trouble
PS3:- No need to change any hardware .. removing the apps i mentioned earlier will disable the hardware parts easily ..

hi all! İts my frist thread i have some troubles whit my s3 multi tasking when i press home button after 5-6 sc apps restarts it self i dont get it. İt have multiwindow but its not enough simple homebutton multi tasking is more importent when i close the screen or background the navigation app it stops giving me directions couz its closed help me please i found some people having this problem but i coudnt find any solutions

i did flash multitaskingfix 7 but it didnt solve my problem why no1 helps me?my friends nexus 4 have way better multitasking what kind of smartphone is this?u are telling me to look dev section but no1 mentioned from this problem in the internet thx for nothing guyz

With that attitude you won't get anywhere, you can't just come here, click your fingers, and people jump to your service.
For a start your initial post is virtually incomprehensible, so maybe start by trying to clarify what your problem is

maybe i m newbie here but when i see some1 i can help i help them first i did open in the wrong section people say nothin but go to help section and in here nothin usefull i m not angry couz i m not responded i m angry couz people make responses that doesnt help my problem is simple apps are restating after a while they are not crashing they just restarts and i m thinking its couz of ram-rom management.
the reason nexus 4 will have better multitasking will be because its vanilla so has no bloatware and also it has 2 gb of ram where sgs3 has 1. most roms have some sort of multitasking fix and scripts to help free ram if thats what your asking. for example on the rom i use i have 200mb free most of the time.

its so bad that simple multi tasking is not doing its job. i m using ultimarom 10 i allwayz have 250 mb free but its never enuogh
i have a live with walkman...the problem is...if i go for any gingerbread rom (cm7,miui,joyos, or even stock rom), my whatsapp dosent work properly...all my msgs are sent after 2mins...like if i send a msg at say 9:00, its sent at 9:02...and in the meanwhile i dont even recieve msgs...i recieve msgs aftr every 2mins...i cnt evn update status due to this problem...and on the other hand, if i go for any 4.x rom...everything is fine..all msgs are sent at lightning speed and there is no such problem...what can be the problem???
and...i use wifi bcoz i dont have internet on my fone...so i jst guess that whatsapp works properly on my mobile internet on 2.3...im not sure..jst a guess

this looks like a whatapp-due problem, which is not solved (and probably womt bcuz android 2.X.X is outdated ) (my friend had problems too with whatsapp and facebook-msgr, when he tried out old-fashioned cm7.2 on his galaxy.. ) we switched back to ics and it was gone , he use mobile networks...
maybve u try friends sim, to look if whatsapp works better on mobile networks?
if not come to 4.X.X
BTW! MAN THIS IS WRONG THREAD!!! IT'S Q&A!!! help keep xda clean and say it also others who post questions/reqeust/etc. to themes and apps!!!

thanks for ua rply...bt al of my friends whatsapp work fine even when they r on 2.3...and i dont want to switch to 4.x coz gingerbreads performance is awesome...
all games r so laggy on 4.x....isnt there any solution to this whatsapp problem on 2.3??
and btw..i think its not Q&A...its a problem regarding an app..and i need help on it...so i posted it in themes and apps!...correct me if im wrong

ok. and yes i understand u gb is simple and good in games :good: no comparement to 4+, and everybody should use the rom that fits him as well
hmm, the problem is look: like u say u try diffrent kinds of GB rom's , we can say its not software-due, also u installed whatsapp more times(not restored from titanium etc) and may in app data ? so we can say its not a apk-problem, last what can be were provider problems but u using wifi so i cant be.......
... i have really no idea...
did have gb synchronization? and did u wipe also /data on fresh install? did us e use any apps like taskillers , greenify etc???

i sometimes restore titanium backups and sometimes not...in both cases whatsapp gives the same problem...and yes sync is turned on in whatsapp..and no i dont use task killers bcoz i knw they r not good for android...
the good thing is....today my whatsapp is working better than other days...its quite fast (im on cm7 still)...i jst hope it works the same all the time...nd plz tell me if u find any solution to it...
nd ok ill see to it that next time i post threads in the right sections..

picture and can't even update my status.
And if I use android 4.0, my whatsapp works very well, there is no such

Hmmm...have you ever wonder if this problem is more related to custom kernel rather than whatsapp or the ROMs itself????
Some user forget that the Custom Kernel is also related in internet connectivity...some Custom Kernel (i won't mention which one) have a problem in synchronizing with FB, Games and other social app such as Whatsapp...i know this cause i have been using a couple of Custom Kernel on the same router just to see the different and i can confirm some of them do have synchronizing problem....

maybe u r right...bcoz i used the same kernel in all roms (miui,joyos and other cm7 based) as all those rom developers recommended that kernel...but right now i am on fxp kernel, and it has the same problem...and what about stock kernel?? as far as i remember, it has the same problem (i didnt use stock for a long time)...so can it b a kernel problem?
as iPusak Gaoq™ said it can be a kernel problem, i tried stock kernel and stock rom again...and yes there is some improvement, but yet sometimes there are connectivity drops...stock rom+stock kernel has better whtsp than cm7 based roms and kernels..but not yet as perfect as 4.0...but anyways its manageable...thanks everyone for help
EDIT: i noticed something..in stock rom...i cant check anyones last seen or cant send message...but, as soon as i go in my contact list and click 'refresh' evrything wrks fine...
Anyone can help me ,today i install fpse 0.11.134 apk from google search and i install it well after install when i open the app plugin is downloaded and memory card scan , till hear everythings well but as i start game after 20 to 30 sec a small notification appear and said 'license check fail connect to internet' while i already connected with net .after searching lot of post ,forums and applying various tools like lucky patcher ,permission remover ,ANTI LVL 0.14 and lot more with their various version but problem not solve same message appear .i also used fpse 0.11.55,0.11.86,0.11.125,0.11.126.0.11.128 and lastly 0.11.134 but problem is same please help me ,i think this question also help many other like me, (one thing i also want to say that game is run smooth memory card saving well but quick save and load option not work whear as the are their and also show the slot but not work audio also not working ) please help me .thank you in advance
