excuse my language.
when i reboot the phone, the LED works normally.
but it doesn't work with messages or missed calls or etc..
knowing that all check boxes of the LED indicator are checked (in the LED indicator settings).

Hey,
if it happens again, type *#0*# and click on LED. It will test your LED, you only have to click on the screen to change the color. After three colours, it is tested. If you can't activate the call LED in settings, try to reset or reflash your phone!

The best way to reset ya phone is to go in to your Stock Recovery ( Vol. Up + Home Button + Sleep/Wake). There you have to choose "wipe data/factory reset" with "Vol. Down Button". Confirm with the "Sleep/Wake Button". Now you have to confirm that you want to wipe your phone. Use the "Vol. Down Button" again, choose something like "Yes, wipe all
users" and confirm with "Sleep/Wake Button"!

ALL DATA WILL BE LOST!! On your internal Storage (sdcard0, not extSDCard) too!!!
I'm not responsible for any damages on your device!
Greetings....

i am really thankful..
but unfortunately
i tested the LED and it work (from *#0*#), andi got the same result (not working with messages and missed calls and etc...).
then i made factory reset from the stock recovery, also i got the same result.
any other solution???

I think you better download the latest 4.1.2 version and flash it via odin
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium

Should i flash a custom 4.1.2 rom or there is a stock 4.1.2 rom

Hey guys.. I've been having some real trouble with my LED Notifications. Let me give you the gist.
- Battery Light = Working
- Notification Light = Worked for about 2 Weeks after I got the C10 mod, hasn't worked since..
I've done all the basic things I could do.. Went through settings, and rebooted.. I really was just hoping for a quick fix and to realize I was just stupid, but I don't think that's the case. Anyone that can help, please give out a shout. Thanks!
Samsung Galaxy S3 i717 (AT&T) - Rooted - C10 Mod

Have you, by any chance, dropped the phone or made it shock abruptly? Because where I live, many around me, including myself, have seen LED capability die entirely on our i9305 and i9300 Samsung devices.
Face it: It's **** hardware. Crappy produce. Non-lasting, profit-based disposable plastic garbage. Ensuring infinite growth on a finite planet. Which is why we will ALL be gone in, say, 2040.

[Q] More LED options?

"NOTE - the LED functionality does not work on most LG and Samsung phones."
Does it work with SGSIII?
Yes, it works, but unfortunately it looks like it causes huge battery drain.

I couldn't seem to get light flow (free) to work on my S3, or it didn't change the colour anyway. Does it need root?

Good point - I was going to root last night then thought I'd be screwed if something goes wrong with the phone!
yeah thats what im waiting for , really dont want to void the warranty on a few day old phone by rooting it
Well you can always restore the phone to factory settings, reset the flash counter and unroot which isnt that hard tbh and then nobody would ever no you rooted or flashed another ROM and to your warranty would be intact!
Im going to try out this app now cheers guys!

Is your phone rooted?
Can't get it to work properly, it will blink once when I get a text. Then it stops.

Go to lightflow and make sure that your SMS notification is set to stop "when notified app is open" (or something like that)

It is set to "App entered"

I have SMS setup to blink green. Here is what happens
Green light comes on
Screen turns on for like 5 seconds showing the lockscreen and the new message
Green light comes on for a short duration
Red light comes on even shorter.
No more blinks.
I recommend lightflow lite..it is free and work perfectly with sgs3
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Your phone doesn't need to be rooted to run light flow.
The issue with SMS showing and then stopping is due to the way it's monitored.
The Samsung SMS app causes the app to pop-up when a new text comes in. Doing this causes lightflow to think the app has been entered and cancels the notification straight away.
Could you try switch on "alternate off monitoring". That's what's needed for some other apps the have a pop-up like this.
I've got an s3 to test this out on, but I haven't got around to cutting a sim card down yet to try out the phone functionality. I plan to do that before releasing lightflow release 3.
To avoid battery drain make sure you set "notification type" TO "Show latest only" in general settings of light flow.

Strange bug : impossible to wake the phone when it's locked

Hi!
I'm using a recent CM9 nightly with default kernel.
I would like to have your opinion : about 3/4 a week my SGS3 is "stuck" when it's locked : impossible to wake up using home or power button, the screen stays black.
The weird thing is that when it happens, the phone is not frozen : I can still hear music on the headphones and control volume using Up/Down buttons.
Sometimes I let it stuck and receive a notification some minutes later and the phone magically can be unlocked again, screen wakes when I push Home button.
Very weird and annoying when that happens.
My question is : what do you think it could be? An app? How can I debug this and know what prevents the screen to wake up when that happens?
Thanks.

Thanks, but is that the kind of easy answer you all tell when you don't know the exact answer?
When I installed CM9 a week ago, I did do a full wipe...
I think that next time it happens, I will try to connect my SGS3 on USB and do a adb logcat, maybe I'll find useful information.

Having a similar problem to yourself. Installed CM9 rom had a play and then went back to omegaV9 performing a full wipe using the instructions on this site before reflashing.
Since then when my phone is locked screen off then i unlock either via swipe or using security code (digits ) it looks like the phone unlocks but sort of does a warm boot with black screen for a few seconds with the two buttons down the bottom light up.
When it starts it looks like all the apps have stopped and are restarting again.
I re flashed again omega 9 thought i had it sorted but it started playing up again this evening.
If anyone has any ideas please post..
Hi, I'm a newbie here. I also exprience this problem with my samsung GT-i9300. I hoping to see a fix with this problem.
This forum has been so helpful to new android users. Thank you guys.

Led Problem

Hallo XDA Friends,
I have a problem with the LED on my month old s3 ( euro unbranded )
Everything was going great with the LED I Installed Light flow everything was still fine.
I updated to JB official stock rom as i am unrooted, and since then the LED only works when
i boot up the phone and when i use the Test utility ( red green blue ) colours. With lightflow uninstalled
and no LED management software still nothing works. Also not with screen off.
Now I am stuck because it clearly is not a Hardware problem as It works on boot and in test mode,
But not in anny other situation.
I hope someone here can help me and thanks in advance!
check lightflow in the accessibility settings.
if done already to go lightflow settings > uncheck enable lightflow > close app.
open light flow again and enable lightflow.

Hi,
First, download Light Manager on play store, use this app, not include in sammy rom.
If you are rooted, try Siyah Kernel, go to STweak, Misc > Notification > Fading.
Now, all is okay, no problems
Uncheck Lightflow in rom settings, or a big battery drain will coming...
Sorry for my awful english ^^'

s3 led lights issue

All,
I upgraded to jelly bean via the CNET UK guide and now I do not have led light notifications i have tried installing third party apps to force it but my phone still does not display an led notification. The only time it works is when a call comes through or if it is charging
Also most of the mmi codes don't seem to work? Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers

Yeah it doesnt work when getting a messsage..

Did you turn the notifications on in the Settings menu? It's under "Display" in Jellybean. I know it's an obvious answer but, sometimes, the most obvious answer eludes the best of us!
Okay it worked it blinks every 5 sec

[Q] Notification LED

Does anyone know how to use the front key lights as notification led's on our L9 since we don't have one? I found out how to use the camera flash as one but that's the back of the phone and i don't like facing the phone screen face down on anything in fear of scratching the screen.
If there is not a method already around somewhere to do this, how hard would it be to get this working? I think it would be a great asset to our L9s!

Please try the NOLED app. Probably a better option. Tried on my HTC Glacier. Works.

Works for me.
How does it behave for you? On my L9 nothing changed at all once installed and enabled :/ What settings did you choose? Do they flash after the screen turns off for awhile after the notification, and stay flashing until they are read??

I just chose the default settings, and it flashes the front key lights till the message is read. Maybe cause I'm using P760 V10h on my P765.
The app is a battery drainer since it wakes the cpu up each time the buttons light up.
Im hoping they can program this feature into future roms for the L9 where it just causes the LED's to blink until the screen is turned back up when a notification is received. Not sure if its possible to program the blinking to run without waking the cpu?
That was another concern of mine, but if it was integrated into the rom in such a way to not wake the cpu then battery life would not be affected as much.
