I have come from a HTC phone, and the Weather clock that HTC has in Sense is the best of them out there. Now the Samsung has…
Garbage
So I am looking at 3rd party options, and have found a few good ones, No they don’t have all the little features of the HTC one, but they cover the important basses (easy access to the alarm setup being the key one apart from displaying the weather and being small), well all But one.
I am in Victoria, Australia (GMT+11) and the Lock screen on the Galaxy syncs to the correct location, as do the little weather apps that come with the phone, but all the third party Weather clocks decide that Victoria mean Victoria Canada (GMT-8) now knowing that it is going to be cloudy with a top of 9c and a low of 5c in Canada might be a lot of fun… But it doesn’t help me here in Aus (29c & Sunny if you are interested)
Are there any Weather Clocks out there that hit a Data source that is aware of locations off the American Continent?
Took me one quick search on play to find this

Yes, which is a great weather app, but not a Clock with weather and the ability to jump into setting alarms directly
I use weatherzone.

I've been looking for a good weather app, but have not been able to find anything decent for Android.
Basically, I need:
-- multiple cities
-- no ads (happy to pay)
-- clean design
-- no widget (O.K., one small one is fine, but I don't want a separate widget for each city to clutter up my screen)
In effect, if it could look like the iPhone weather app, it would be great.
Also, if it could show the local time in each city, it would be perfect (why do we have to manually adjust DST in the stock clock app is beyond me?)
Anyone seen something like this?
Have you tried the Weather Channel?
Has multiple cities (manually put in zip code), clean design for sure, it has widgets of different sizes. Ads.. not too sure since I have mines rooted with AdFree.
For multiple cities weather channel is great. I avoid weather bug out of principle, I hate their spamware desktop stuff.
Thanks for the Weather Channel recommendation.
I tried it without ads and it works well.
Now, if it showed local time and if it had alarms, it'd be perfect
haha.. im sure there are apps that have what you're looking for around the market. It's the Weather Channel not the Time Channel
glad you like it though!
WTF is up with accuweather lately?
We had the blizzard of the year and it just says "cloudy". I switched beautiful widgets to pull from google weather instead, and it says "overcast". I've seen it change from cloudy, to sunny, and party cloudy, but it hasn't shown any precip in a long time. Even the moto weather widget says the same.
I know its not a phone issue, but just curious if its the local weather reporting or if Accuweather is just lazy or something.

If your GPS is off it wont read accurately, location & security...if you set it to not update that is a no brainer....I have not had any problem with my weather on any ROM with any device...except if I changed those settings

tnx for the reply, but its not the phone or the gps, those are fine. Its actually the Accuweather feed (or google feed when I try that one).
I just thought I'd ask the folks here cause we're all watching that kind of thing.
Even accuweather.com just shows "cloudy".

Dunno, I use accu weather from Beautiful Widgets and I haven't noticed any problems.. It's right on the money.

I use Beautiful Widgets too and mine is kind of screwy lately. I don't use the gps location thing. Just enter my zip code in and leave it set to where I live all the time unless I'm traveling. I'm using accu weather too. Well, for those that don't know, you can click on the weather part of the widget and another screen will open up with five days of weather forecasts at the bottom. They are just icons or pictures more or less of what the weather is for that day. However, if you click on one, it will open up the browser and take you to an accu weather forecast page for your location for that day. A few days ago I did just that and the web page said the temp was 50 something degrees. I thought, WTF? It's only in the 20's here. Then I noticed that it was opening a page for Pittsburg PA. It's still doing it. There's a link I can click on to change locations and when I do, my town is there as a link to click on. Have no idea what's going on. Is it accu weather or the app itself? Don't know but it bugs the heck out of me.
I was wondering if anyone has come across or is interested in making a weather forecast app for the Gear Fit.
It would be nice to click it and be able to scroll through a 5-day or hourly forecast.
Maybe the data could be grabbed from the Samsung widget, like the clock/weather face data is. Or just set in the settings to one of the common sources.
Use Gear Fit RSS and point it to a weather forecast feed. No graphics but many forecasts.

I have yet to get RSS to work. I tried many feeds but none would work. Did you have to do something in order to get it to work?

Hi there
Some days ago I have sadly changed my HTC One M9 Plus after 3 and half years of service, the last of a 10 years experience with HTC from the HD2...what a sad situation about the brand.
Anyway I have bought a Samsung S9 Plus which seems not bad at all but I have some questions about it:
1) I have seen that is it possible to change the resoution of the screen, currently I'm on 2220*1080 but I could go for 2960*1440, anyway some widget already have small text, I have tried the upper resolution and a lot of things (icons etc) doesn't seems define enough to support it. What do you suggest?
2) I miss some HTC hystorc widget like the weather flip-clock and the contact widget for making quick call, do you know if there is a chance to install them on the samsung?
3) Is that possible to change the disposition of the system lower key (home, back and multitasking) ?
4) Is that possible to wake up the phone from the always on with a double tap?
5) Is that possible to have a wallpaper for the home and a different wallpaper for the all apps menu?
Welcome over from HTC. I too was a fan of their products until the last 4 years.
1. Yes, Settings -> Display -> Screen Resolution -> Select WQHD+ although will use more battery.
2. Download Sense Flip or Flipv2 from marketplace.
3. Yes, Settings -> Display -> Navigation Bar on the bottom -> Select your preferred order.
4. Not entirely sure if it's possible.
5. Not entirely sure. I prefer using a different launcher like Nova Launcher and use it to mimic Google as much as possible.
Hi there!
Thanks you very much for your answears!
I have tried the 2 widget that emulates the HTC flip clock but I don't I guess it's not the same thing as the original, also the have a low resolution for this phone.
I have also searched a contact widget to add photo of favorites contacts for quick calls, I have found some but they all are too much small for the resolution of the S9+

Use edge panel for favorite contacts with their photos, otherwise you have stock contacts widget which works just fine
Ok edge panel is nice otherwise the contact widget add too much small photo of your contact and also also you need to manually add one by one, you cannot have a table
Hey folks.
As the title implies, I would like to know what everyone's favorite weather app is. Yes Xda has an article occasionally on the front page that gives their opinion on the best weather app but I want to hear it from those who matter the most (all of us end users).
My favorite, since 2000 has always been WeatherBug but after earth networks sold the WeatherBug brand to xAd (now known as ground truth), something happened that left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Anyhow, I pretty much liked everything about WB except the ads (which I never noticed because of Adaway lol) but I'm a truck driver and I especially loved their radar. It was the best looking radar I had ever seen and what made it even better is I didn't have to buy the premium version to unlock radar.
I also liked the widget would show me my current temperature of the area I am driving through while I could have the temperature back home always displayed in the notification bar.
Anyhow, those are all of my favorite things about my former favorite app but I have been actively searching for months for a solid replacement. The things it must have are
1. Radar
2. Current conditions
3. 5-7 day forecast
Those are my 3 MUST haves. Also I'm not a fan of apps packed with ads and trackers or yearly subscriptions nor having to pay just to unlock radar and other options. By the way, I tried 1weather and its a beautiful app but its radar is lacking compared to WB.
So what's your favorite weather app and why? What makes it stand out?
My favorite weather application will always remain Overdrop, it doesn't have radar (which doesn't bother me personally), but I find it impossible to make a prettier weather application, really, test it and you'll see

Yessir I will check it out. Hey, if nothing else, if I like Overdrop, I could always use it and find myself another app with just radar.
