Hi, I've just got my new samsung i9100.
Mostly I'm happy with it. But sometimes it just can't play any sound, including ringtone, media sound and even voice during call. It usually happens after playing some music.
Furthermore, when I try to adjust sound volume in this situation, the phone responds very slowly and finally it crashes and auto-reboot.
I bought this i9100 in NL and just have upgraded the system to KE2 through samsung kies. Is this problem a general software bug or does my phone have some hareware problem?
I've tried some customized rom, and the problem still exists.
Factory reset and wipe ???
Followed by original rom and return to seller .
jje
I've got the same problem. The phone sometimes suddenly stops playing sound. When I then adjust the volume it freezes (the volume indicator) and after several seconds it just reboots.
I am not sure what is causing this. Will check the log as soon as it happens again.
Edit:
I suspect it has something to do with access to the sound resources. Also, programs cannot save anything when this happens.
Probably one of the partitions (sdcard?) is unmounting or not getting (re)mounted after it was used over USB on a PC?
Hi guys.
Flashed my S III with Nordic firmware ( I9300XXBLFB_I9300XEFBLF1_I9300XXLFB witc CSC NEE).
It's the latest 4.0.4.
The problem I noticed is this : when waking the phone from idling it shows signal and all functionality seems OK. However, doing restart emails and SMS's coming up and also the ringtone/notification tones are reset to default.
Tried factory reset from within the Menu, but another strange thing : when pressing Power button only Turn Off and Restart options are available. An hard reset via code sorted the problem, but the email/ringtone issue is still present. After each switch Off it sets all notification to default.
Other than this phone is OK, with great battery back up and no warming issue either.
Any idea how to get rid of this "sleepwalking" status ???
Straight to the problem: sometimes (and in a very unpredictable manner), when i have an incoming call, plenty of problems show their ugly face. First of all, i sometimes can't accept, or decline an incoming call, because the screen isn't responding to input. Sometimes i can go around this by pressing the on/off button twice, and that would enable the screen. But, sometimes even that doesn't work. The phone just keeps ringing until the caller eventually gives up. When that happens, the phone continues to function normally.
Another problem is constant vibrations i noticed in several occasions. Instead of vibrating in "pulses" or "waves", the phone just keeps vibrating constantly, which can be very annoying in combination with the problem mentioned in the first paragraph.
At first i though it's a bug in my ROM (CM9 port for legend), but have heard people experiencing the problem on other stock devices (Galaxy SII on stock ICS, for example). So it is not that rare, but to this day i haven't been able to find a solution.
Did anyone manage to solve this problem, or find any information as to how this can be avoided?

I have the same problem with my phone. Any solution for this problem thx
Reflash, reflash, and if it happens again - reflash. The screen lock/unlock workaround was working about 90% of the time. I gave the phone to my father (clean new flash) and he didn't experience any issues with the rom so far.
I'm running Dirty Unicorns with the JBX kernel, using BMM as my recovery. Earlier on my phone shut down and wouldn't boot up, for a while. When I tried pressing the power and volume keys down it booted up into AP fastboot mode and that's never happened to me before. I managed to reboot back into Then Viber started sending me phantom calls by which I mean no one had actually made a call. When I tried to pick up the call from no one the phone kept vibrating. I force closed the app, deleted the cache and opened it again to see if that would stop the beahviour. I got another phantom call, and this time the screen I couldn't stop the phone from vibrating. The screen went black, unlocking it and locking it only toggled the lights on the capacitive keys. I managed to eventually reboot the phone but I went back to the stock rom.
Is this an issue with Viber or should I send in a bug report?

Hi
It seems that the Custom ROM affected Viber , Viber don't send phantom calls .
Is it working properly for you on Stock ROM?
Thanks in advance,

Thanks for your post. It does work in the stock rom, flawlessly. Do you know if there's any fix for this, because I've come to really like this rom? Just an update, the calls have been working fine recently, but after a call when I try to exit Viber it registers random button presses that I haven't done and gives me a message saying something to the effect of 'Viber is not in an idle state = 8' or state = 6.
I'm experiencing further issues with this. My phone reboots when I'm using Viber, regardless of whether it's calls or messages. I'm pretty sure it's a rom issue, and I'd post in the thread if I could but, alas, I don't have the requisite post count yet. I've tried wiping cache and dalvik cahce. Does anyone have any solution to this problem?
charging?

I am curious if it is on the charger at the time of these random events. My razr behaves weirdly when charging, not responding to button presses or opening random apps. fine when off charger.
I factory reset my phone and then it was working fine, so i guess this is a software issue but after some time when the phone upgraded to the latest update, the bug is back. Any help is appreciated.
