Note 2 is $299 with 50000 best buy reward points which is same as $100 gift card. You have to be reward zone member(free). It works for Iphone and others also.
Iphone 5 with 16gb was $149 yesterday with the 50000 points.
I'm gonna check this out thanks.

I hope it works if you are going to buy the device without contract. Unfortunately, it works only with contracts renew and new.

It only works for upgrades and new contracts at that price. You get the normal upgrade price plus 50000 reward zone points which is enough for a $100 best buy purchase or gift card. You have to be reward zone member which is free. If you order 2 phones or more they are sent to best buy store.
Is there any downside to upgrading your phone at BB rather than Verizon? Any hidden between the lines gotcha's? Fees? Spam mail/calls? I was going to get my N2 at Verizon tomorrow but if this really is the real deal..a free $100 would be nice!

I got mine from BB rather than Verizon for the simple fact of having 30 days to exchange the phone if it doesn't fit the bill. No hidden gotcha's that I know of.
I got mine for $200 because of them matching the price at Amazon.

How did you get them to match Amazons price?? They told me you have to be able to physically walk into the store and be able to purchase for the discounted price. If you can't, then they wont match it.

Yeah, I'm interested in that info too. I even just read their price match info and it said they won't match online only retailers.

They just looked up the price online on the Aamzon Website, then matched it. Then Changed the price, but again that is with a new 2 Yr Activation. It is printed 3 times on te receipt. But I didn't get all those reward points, Just the cost of the phone. But the fine print on the website says, it is online only if I read it correctly

I read that they would match the price of Amazon, so I decided to try and see if they would.
Went into the store and picked out the one I liked and then said "you all match the price of Amazon because they have it for $199.99"...response was we do as long as it's "NOT" from a 3rd party selling through Amazon.
He looked it up and said we were good to go for that price....I said AWESOME!

Tried today, and after initial shock they we're going along until they saw Amazon's phones were backordred. They said since you couldn't buy get it today on Amazon they couldn't sell today in Best Buy. I pleasantly told them that seemed wrong, they said sorry, policy, I said thanks for your time. I will probably go the Best Buy 5,000 ($100) online rewards points bonus route for purchasing the Note II at $299. Almost as good.

As stated in title, I wanna buy a prime tablet from amazon but their prices are ridiculous at the moment. The only one close to the average 499$ price tag are the used ones.
With all the problems I've been reading about this tablet, I still feel drawn to testing my luck.
The main reason I want to use Amazon is for the "billmelater" option. March is a very heavy birthday filled month in my family so I wont have the actual cash till around may.... I don't want to wait until may.
Also, if i have to start with the sending back n forth process because of light bleeds, reboots, etc etc how is the process with Amazon.com? Is it a headache?
Thanks in advance for everyone's opinion on the matter. I want to make a purchase soon so it can come tomorrow hahaha I want to play with this tablet asap.
Why not just get it new at Officedepot.com? If you order now you will receive it by "Estimated Delivery Date: 02/10/2012." Just checked for you That's where I ordered my Prime. I have no issues whatsoever No wifi/BT fallouts. GPS works great!

If you buy a used prime at $499, your not looking hard enough. But if you really want a prime here is one at jr.com:
Asus Prime Jr.com
Or go to your local BestBuy and tell the sale's clerk you want place an "OMS order SKU: 4038674" theyll ask for a mode of payment and ask you if you want if you are picking up at the store or home delivery in about a week. Even if they are out of stock at BestBuy the "OMS" will check the one of the warehouse of Bestbuy and get you one.

Not sure what you're trying to say but it seemed like "if they are selling it this close to release...." which I agree that's why im extremely hesistant. But I don't understand why the Amazon prices are so incredibly high when they are supposed to be the cheaper online stores.

The reason is that those aren't being sold by Amazon, they're being sold by other companies THROUGH Amazon's storefront. They're basically what you would find if you went to eBay--third parties selling them at a premium because demand continues to outstrip supply.

Amazon doesn't control the prices for their third party vendors. Amazon just controls the prices where Amazon is the seller. As previous poster pointed out, other vendors use the Amazon storefront, which is the case here. When Amazon sells the Prime, Amazon prices it at $499.

Just to be perfectly clear, these higher-priced units are NOT being sold by Amazon, and Amazon is NOT setting the prices on them. They're being sold by 3rd parties at whatever price those 3rd parties want to sell for. Again, it's like eBay, only through Amazon's equivalent (pretty much anyone can sell things through Amazon).
When Amazon ITSELF has the Prime in stock, they sell it at the standard retail price ($499 for 32GB, $599 for 64GB).
Just wondering why Best Buy is charging more. I will ultimately pay everything subsidized price, but am taxed on the $749 price.

That's why I decided to go with AT&T, since it was $100 cheaper than what Best Buy offers for full price.
Because that's the price we got them at. it sucks because if we got them at 650 my employee price would be around 500 if you're buying outright though we will gladly price match atts 650

Subsidized: BB making money on your monthly bills. It adds up nicely for 2 years.
Unsubsidized: BB making money on phone sale only.
Most 3rd party retailers ask more than AT&T's list price for unsubsided price.
This is not a surprise. Bestbuy's unsubsidized prices are always way over everyone else's. The same can be said for pretty much any product they carry.

True. It's better to buy the phone outright from AT&T itself. Although BB has one of the best prices when it comes to upgrades, after awhile when it goes down, of course. I've never used Wal-Mart to upgrade, even though I heard they have the lowest price when it comes to upgrades.
I have always been successful in getting Best Buy to match the ATT store price on no commitment prices. Best Buy has no restock fee just in case you are not 100% you will keep the phone, which I am never sure when buying no commitment. Plus, it is easier to get gift cards from Best Buy...
As far as being taxed for $749, sounds like a state issue...

That does suck. They are not required to do it. The one I shop at has like 3 ATT stores within 5 miles so they call to make sure the phone is in stock at the ATT store and then they discount the phone to match.
Maybe find a BB with ATT stores close by?

I'll do that next year once I'm due for my upgrade. I'm going to use it to get the S3 once it comes out and see if anyone would price match it. Although I'm not hopeful.
The Note was the one thing that was going to get me to upgrade and renew my at&t contract...which I hadn't done since 2007 with the original iPhone.
But unless a 3rd party vendor drops the subsidized pricing rather soon to a more reasonable price, I won't upgrade.
On top of that, my current contract doesn't let me use LTE...due to APN issues. So I'm gonna wait to see if someone finds a way around that (if it's actually possible).
They don't make money off the subsidized phone over the 2 years. They get around $200-350 from the phone company after the sale.
I was a part of the group that started BB Mobile in 2006.

Thanks for clarify that. The main profit comes from the 2-year contract. What I didn't know is AT&T pay them up front.
I've searched and not found so if it's posted, just delete or whatever is necessary.
Looking at Bestbuy's web site and also calling a local store (Detroit area, Michigan), the price of the EvoLte has dropped to $100.
Not sure what other offers are included.
Also seems that you cannot get to the actual EvoLte page unless you click on the link for "reviews" for the devices.
Anyone have any info on if Bestbuy is trying to sell them out and not restock? I know they've had a bunch of returns in this area because of the constant busy signal problems when making calls with bad service connections. Just speculation, no facts. I've actually had to swap 2 EvoLte's myself.
Here's the link.

eBay most likely.
I would just buy it at BB or VZW though.
A VZW Corporate store is going to be the best place to buy full retail IMO. Many 3rd party retailers won't even sell a phone at full retail, and if they do, the price is higher than what VZW charges. You could try eBay, but I would be sure to only go with high rated sellers.

Okay cool. I was looking at Best Buy cause of reward zone points and they have a good return policy.
Not too worried about return policy cause regardless where I buy, I still get insurance on my phone.
So I'll have to definitely check out the VZW corporate store. Have one right done the street
Bestbuy does do the price match however, which if you wanted the reward points would be a good way to go. I'm interested to see if you could get by with using the international version on Amazon for price match, and see if they'd notice. Meh worth a shot possibly since it's cheaper full retail. Either way they'll at least match Verizon's and others price.
The international version was $589 off-contract (retail), this was on newegg with a coupon. The only places I would trust besides VZW corporate stores are newegg, Best Buy, and Amazon (Sold by amazon). The good thing about the Note II international deal on newegg is that they provide an extended warranty and price match with Iron Egg, so I would go for Newegg probably.
For reference, the deal is dead now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ction-_-cables-_-na-_-na&Item=N82E16875176414
Edit: from the iron egg info page: We're also automatically extending our return policy to January 31, 2013 for qualifying Iron Eggâ„ products.
http://promotions.newegg.com/ironegg2012/index.html
Ebay, I wouldnt trust Craiglist and Best Buy is overpriced.
Vzw will let pay it over 12 months with a $2 a month finance charge since you are buying full price. No early payment penalty either. So full price divided by 12 with $2 extra a month. Or try on swappa.com. guaranteed clear ESN.

I was going to pick up a Note II on Sunday but the debate between the S4 and Note 2 lasted a bit long. By the time I was ready to buy, it was late and we needed to get the kids home and tucked in. That was Sunday. I look today and... $299 online. What the hell?
Best Buy's got it for $199 wit a $50 BB gift card. Tempted to do that so long as I can still upgrade it on my wife's line and move it over to mine, keeping unlimited data.
Yeah, do a round of online shopping. I got 2 for 216.00 from price matching sams club. If you can find a deal without gift cards verizon onlone match.
"One small step for man, One giant leap for mankind" said anyone who has tried Moon Rom
Yup, I'm looking around. Best Buy's deal is pretty decent as the price was already approved and I'm sure I can make use of the $50 gift card
The one alternative stuck in my head now is that the House Finance Committee has said she's fine with me picking up the Note 3 for the assumed $299 price.
The only thing I'd have to check on there is whether or not TrevE gets tethering working on it. I might just get the Note 2, then upgrade later to the 3 as the wife wants the Note 2 once I'm done with it.
Just get it at best buy. I got my note 2s with 100 gift cards due to a price match and recently got an s4 from a deal match at Dell for 129. It isn't worth it to buy through Verizon since they don't price match and you can get it elsewhere for cheaper from vendors that don't charge a restocking fee.
Never never never buy a phone directly from the carrier. Carriers don't offer deals that can beat third party stores such as Radio Shack, Best Buy, Wirefly and etc. For example, yesterday I purchased the Galaxy Note 2 and S3 from Radio for the total cost of $179. The Note 2 is only $149 at Radio Shack online store and Wirefly.

Honestly I work at a Verizon premium retailer and I can say I don't know why we don't price match. Thing I hate though is people getting the phone somewhere else and asking us to fix the screwed up plans or transfer contacts and put on screen protectors. If you don't want to spend the extra money here, don't ask us to do work for free, as we are 100 percent commision.

The Note 2 is only $149 at Radio Shack online store and Wirefly.

Only problem is he wants to transfer upgrade and when I got my Note 2, best buy told me that only Verizon could do it because they would only do it when I upgraded, not before and have it ready on my acct. Amazon couldn't do it either.
Looks like I missed Amazon's $149.99 price. I was going to hit Best Buy yesterday and got caught up with other things so it didn't happen and we figured on getting it Saturday. Amazon has it at $179.99 right now. Not bad and still the cheapest price for upgrading a line (new service is cheaper).
As to the upgrades, no, I won't be moving upgrades around. I'll be upgrading my wife's line as it's eligible for an upgrade. Then just move the phone to my line and reactivate her current phone. Once the Note 3 is out, I'll need to move my upgrade over to her line to do it again so I may run into the necessity of using Verizon there. I'll have to see how that goes.
Radio Shack is offering $149 for new customers & $199 for upgrade.

Costco did it for me. It was 199 but I think it just went down to 179

Well damn. Amazon went back up to $199. NewEgg's got it at $189. I'd do Costco but Best Buy won't price match them (the $50 BB gift card is still a solid deal) and I doubt the Costco deal includes extras. I guess if you snooze, you lose
Whatever the best price, hopefully I'll have a new Note 2 later this afternoon.
$149 deal
Gnoop not sure if you've already made your Note 2 purchase, but if not "letstalk" is still running deal for $149 new customer or upgrade and it includes upgraded free next day shipping as well.

I did pick it up but thank you for the info. I ended up getting it at Best Buy on the last day of the gift card deal. The gift card was able to be used immediately so it came to $149 and I walked out of the store with the phone working. Now I just need to wait for Amazon to ship my case and memory card.

If you want to be a frugal shopper, you can provide your receipt to the kiosk booth to get back your $20 for the difference in the price drop.
