Flat battery light - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to stop the flat battery red notification light flashing at less than 15% ?
Using AOKP JB if it helps, but I suspect I may need another program?
Cheers

Sure go to Settings -> LED indicator and untick Low battery.
This is how is on stock, but should be same on AOKP.

Nah. Led settings are under Rom profile. This isn't there...
Cheers anyway

hi manguish,
I recommend you light manager - just search the play store.
it's free, I'm in no way related to its developers and don't wand to advertise here. but this app offers so many options for your led notification. its not only possible to change or deactivate the battery warning but also of all other apps like sms, gmail and many more.
hope I helped you with your problem, enjoy your great phone

Screen always on while charging

On stock ics. If screen turns on while charging it does not turn off again. This started happening some weeks ago, but I can't imagine I did anything.
Any clues?

Well I just solved the problem so I'd be willing to bet you use "extended controls"?

Yes! What is the problem? Just a setting in EC or uninstallation required?

Here's the deal:
The "keep awake"option is part of the stock ics settings but Samsung has removed it, possibly to avoid burn-in effects on the s2's SAMOLED screen. But apparently all they removed was just the option...the"stay awake"functionality is still there, you just don't have a way to enable or disable it.
This means that if you install an app that for whatever reason decides to turn "stay awake" to "on" you have no way to disable it -unless you install a third party app that does exactly that!
Enter extended controls. While I'm almost sure it was THAT update that caused the stay awake setting to change we are in luck because it's the same app that will let us disable it:
On an empty area of your screen long press and add an 1x1 extended control widget. Add the "stay awake" toggle and apply. when the widget appears I'm pretty sure it's gonna be enabled/green.
Click on the widget to disable stay awake and then remove the widget if you want. Done.
Let me know how it works out!

Thanks a lot! Solved a very annoying problem. Great work!
Just cost me a little screen burn in, but not much.

great! Maybe I should contact the developer too...
How do we mark this as "solved"?

I wonder about the "solved" issue too.

S3 speaking on its own

Hi guys,
Just wanted some help from you guys. Suddenly i noticed that my s3 has started speaking on its own. Like when i zoom out my homescreens, it says
"Workspace 2 of 3"
When i open a folder,it says
"Folder opened "
I dont know what happened. I didnt tweak any settings and updated to the latest firmware about a week back. Until yesterday there were no voice feedbacks but all of a sudden they have started. Couldnt find any setting to turn them off either.
It is very annonying and any help would be greatly appreciated!

That sounds like TalkBack. Disable it under Settings -> Accessibility -> TalkBack
Already disabled, still it speaks!

Have you got Light Flow installed? There is a bug with it due to Samsung/ICS kernel
Yes i did have that app installed and i guess it has happened due to that app only. However, i just uninstalled the app but it still speaks. Will try restarting the phone once and will get back to you. Thank u so much anyways.

Any apps that will shut off notification light during select hours??

I was running cm10 on my s3 and one of my favorite features was quiet hours which allowed me to turn off the notification light during select times.
I rooted my s4 and was wondering if there were any apps that people might know of to give me the same control.
Thanks.

I find Lightflow buggy. Try Light Manager. It has a sleep option.

OK I've tries both apps and neither work. As soon as I install them all notification lights stop working.
I have tried all types of tests and cannot figure out what the issue is.

Light flow definitely works, I'm using it on my phone. Did you make sure to enable the app in accessibility?

Did you go into light flow and setup the colors you want for the programs you want to show the led?
I just deleted all of the light flow components and installed light manager. Looks like that is working, fingers crossed!!

Use the following :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow&hl=en
It specifically mentions in the description that it can control low Battery notification as well so I think this should do it for you. I have used this app before on my Sk17i and it worked fine.

[Q] Solid notification light?

Is there a way to make the notification light solid, rather than flashing?
I.e. when I get an email I want a solid yellow bar, not the random flashing it has at the moment.
I have downloaded light flow, but it doesn't really work as the default Sony settings seems to override it - and turning off the Sony default turns off the notification light altogether.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflowlite
does this app do the job?
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It does not seem to work properly as per my OP. I still get flashes which I believe come from the default Sony software which overrides light flow.
hmmm have you tried other apps like such
i know gravity box has something similar but you have to pay for the feature after the trial runs out

Send an email from inside Lightflow. He is prety good at answering...
