Solved: For now the best solution is to put faux123 kernel.
Try using faux's 1.0 kernel or even the 1.3 kernel for a little bit of extra juice. The default MROM kernel is made for battery life.
Will try it..
Btw: are the blur based roms good for this?
Sent desde mi MB860
Try it. It just depends on the game. Unless someone has tried the same game, you will not know for certain. Try the faux123's/OC kernels. They're available for both blur and CM7.

I flashed it and yeah it is a good diference , thanks dudes
(if you suggest me a rom for gaming would be awesome)

CSROM seems to be a good choice since it has the least amount of bloatware. There's also a "Turbo" version of that ROM. Try it. But if it works fine in CM7 now, then just use that.

I am going to try CSRom, the thing is that it works OK on cm7 but if it can work faster, is better. Thanks btw

Try deleting any apps you don't use; some have a habit of starting up and taking up resources for no reason. I personally use LBE to stop certain apps from loading.
If you really need performance, try the 1.45 faux123 kernel. (it's included in CSROM turbo) Keep in mind, your battery will die faster and your phone might run hot.

Go JB, OC it with 1.3Ghz with performance governor.
I have no lags playing GTA vice city, NBA 2k13 and NFS Hot Pursuit.
I am on CS Rom right now, and... dayum! Thanks all!

Hey guys I'm having trouble finding a rom that is the coolest as in not warm. If you could point me in the right direction thank you
Right now I'm using Rarity's 3.6 rom and it gets quite warm when I am just setting up my phone, whereas when I'm using Check's ROM or others its always cool. Thank you in advance!

Change your kernel. and if your using setcpu try changing frequencies. but if u want a rom batista rom with ninph kernel
I've tried BatistasRom, its very quick and full of features, but idk why it just also warms up when playing around. Ill have a go at the kernels and the frequencies. Thank you very much

Cognition or Villain 3.0 . Never had a heat issue with either unless I play Asphalt (which is not optimized and heats up and all roms) .

I use SetCpu to underclock the device. I usually have 800 MHz as highest frequency and this fair enough for most games. Only for games like GoF2 or Riptide I scale up to 1200 MHz. For most other games and apps 800 MHz is alright and the phone will not get warm.
Just try lower frequencies and if you have lags scale up.
Hm still getting warm after trying siyah's kernel. any suggestions?
I have tried Cognition and yes, it is quite good...only thing keeping me away from it is that there are no updates (yet).
and yes i do know playing games will heat up the device...thats what we get for having such a slim phone
Im having issues with some games. After playing for a while the game freezes.
Already tried different roms and kernels with no success.
Thats why im thinking its a hardware thing, but i have to prove it someway...
The games that shoots the issue are:
pes 2011
backbreaker
nfl rivals

my phone was freezing to then I tried the ram fix and that's what it has. check and see how much ram you have and get setcpu
totalmem: 835152 kb
normal value isn't it?
now on cm7 weekly 4 clemsyn1.0 kernel.
but already tried different roms and kernels and didn't solve the issue

Went back to stock SBF and solve the thing (by now no more freezes) now will unlock bl and root, then flash rom and tell.
Thx
Anybody who was having problems with games freezing? Needs to go grab fauxs new beta kernel on the last page of his kernel thread or wait a little bit as hes about to post the official one as this fixes alot of freezing/crashing issues! It has for me and don't forget to thank faux!
Hello everybody, I'm opening the thread just to read opinions from you all about the kernels that are currently available.
The one I've been using is void #echo, which in my humble opinion with the combination of a tweaked deadline scheduler and a lionheart governor provides great performance, battery life and minimum lag whatsoever.
I do understand that it depends on needs which shall be used, however, I would like to know which one to you guys works smoother and provides better performance / battery life.
I always aim for performance over battery life (I didn't buy a SGSII to get poor performance )
In terms of battery life, I can get it up to 22~23 hours on battery, using WCDMA only / HSPA+ during day and enabling airplane mode during night.
Fast Dormancy disabled and deep sleep working correctly (XXKL1).
I don't like the complexity of siyah and to be good on batt you have to tweak it more with UV and thing like that ,wish is not my style to make trying/errors on my brand new 600$phone !
I tried speed mod wish is very great actually with great overall perform
void echo is the one Im trying right now ! since 2 days its feel very strong and good on battery with good performance on games without getting the phone very hot
neak is good but its more a copy/past of the overall coders over wish is good in one sense but its a bit laggy in game with lucrative mod but defenatly one of my favorite kernel out there ! Im waiting for 1.3 to let simone correct some bugs
Siyah is the tweakers' heaven. You can fine tune every last bit of your phone.
I personally love void, it feels very fast and has good battery life.
I tried NEAK for a short time and it seemed fine but quite many report lag in games(using on demand governor seems to fix it though).
Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm waiting for N.E.A.K 1.3x too

as one of the posts above said siyah is the tweakers heaven..haha trust me i never used it before as i thought it was to complicated. but once you have done your reading and read other peoples posts and what they do to get the best out of the kernel you have a winner...all the rest look good i am not saying anything bad but for me from now on any rom i use siyah is coming with me due to the fact it has so many options to it and so much i can play around with i am in heaven
hope that helps...oh and on a side note i have been tempted to upgrade to a different rom but the current base i am using and with the kernel i have and the settings that i am using the only time i will actually jump ship is if one there is a stable cm9 out there by the amazing team hacksung. Two if Gokhanmoral does a siyah kernel for cm9 which i think will be when kernel sources are made available and three cause i have already my voodoo app all configured with my poweramp player to get the best sound possible i would be foolish to make the step at this moment of time...
So my advice for battery speedmod if you are not into tweaking alot with voltages and clock frequencies and if you want the best of both worlds then siyah
siyah 2.6.4.

Great feedback bro, I tried Siyah in the past but honestly when I used it I didn't know there were parameters to tweak (didn't check the REF documentation LOL).
Do you get smoother behavior / better performance / higher benchmark scores tweaking the parameters? In quadrant I get around 4604 with void.echo.
as my "personal" opinion...
since i instaled V3RTR3MA.V.4.0 rom, i've been using void#echo
couldn't ask for more its fast and stable... nothing too complicated and i could get 8186 in the quadrant benchmark... a really great kernel...
void echo.By far best kernel for common user, who doesn't want to do all kind of tweaks&stuff.By default is great. If you are into a litle tweaking, you can OC and UV without any issues.
I used it since it was released. No issues at all, battery friendly, great performance.
Trully a KISS principle follower.
My personal advice to all, avoid all roms&kernels that are heavily customized and have alot of useless "tweakes" and scripts on them. The more things on it, more chances of breaking up.
Look for simple builds,as close as it can be to stock, eye candy is not performance.
Jkay makes great themes wich you can apply to the rom.

100% agree most of the battery better and greater speed for these kernels is actually unproven and just advertising bumf .
I have used the kernels listed in the topic and in each case stock kernel has benchmarked better using multiple tests .

I agree with your opinion, and that's the reason why I use only Sammy Stock ROMs
I've flashed a number of roms and kernels in the past few months since May, best combination for me is usually a near stock rom, plus a stable kernel like Speedmod, they just work without needing any tweaking apart from custom set up that's it.
I don't generally like the number of tweaks in some roms but each to their own.
I find stock fine and fluid and stable enough without much problems.
Yeah..i get 6500+ without rawr and oc to 1600.you forget one thing,ALL other kernels have tweaked I/O scheduler enabled. Knzo says very clear in his thread.it's a way to cheat, that's why this tweak is not default on his kernel.
About rom, look for odexed.tornado2 by brotuck is one of the best around(odexed, pretty much stock, only useless apps removed from it).combined with jkay theme and coid echo...my s2 flies

Thanks for the suggestion dude! I'll take a look to it! Beside the removal of stock apps, what tweaks are included to achieve that score?
Best kernel so far for me is hardcore's speedmod.
Fast, first time I broke the 6000 barrier on Antutu benchmark without overclock. And great battery life, one full day + charging only by the end of day two, with normal use.
Normal use for me is making phone calls, surfing web and playing games sometimes, not more than 20min per "session". Turning wifi and 3g off when phone on standby. And switching to airplane mode overnight.
And yes I tried other kernels....

Hi everybody.
Right now, I am using ResurrectionRemix 1.7 ROM and the Siyah 3.2b8 Kernel. I love both the ROM AND the Kernel, however, a while ago, I noticed the performance of my SGS2 being pretty bad.
Now, before you call me a noob that knows nothing about Smartphones, Custom-ROMS, Kernel, etc., please, do me the favor and read on.
I know that neither ResurrectionRemix or Siyah Kernel are optimal if you want pure power and maximum Performance. I have always been a Fan of balanced battery/performance. However, I find it to be quite bizarre that my phone gets very bad scores in Benchmarks.
I know that benchmarks can be unaccurate/treaturous/not representative, but the thing is that I never got a higher score than 4000 on AntutuBenchmark and no more than around 2500 on Quadrant, no matter what settings and tweaks I use!
I have tried so many of them and the scores never really changed much.
For example, yesterday, I flashed the new Version of my Kernel (Siyah 3.2b8). I then changed the ExTweaks settings to "performance" in CWMRecovery. I overclocked my CPU to 1400MHz with VoltageControl, locked it (with performance governor) and changed the scheduler to VR.
I still only got 3264 on Antutu and 2442 on Quadrant...
Before that, I had tweaked my Kernel (using ExTweaks) with the sample values given in the awesome Tweaks Post by droidphile. I really tried lots of different Tweaks and settings, but never got any good results in Benchmarks. NEVER!
I would be glad if some of you had suggestions what could be the Problem. I know you can easily get to 6000 (Antutu) or 4000 (Quadrant) with the GSG2. Normally, I am not the guy who just cares about Benchmarks and compares it with others on a daily basis, however, this (very) low performance of my phone really intrigues me. After all, we bought the GSG2 for its awesome Power capabilities, didn't we?
Info:
I have quite a lot of Apps installed (about 190), if that helps.
As you have failed to read the rules and post in the wrong section you are a noob or worse .
Its been well posted for over a year benchmarks are a waste of time Quadrant in particular .
No two benchmarks run one after the other are the same .

You have some thing ****ing your results and maybe your overall performace with games are affect.
Did you tried full wipe ?
Here with stock lp9 + siyah 3.2b8 i got 4400 quadrant and 6500 antutu
Using CM9 3900 on quadrant and 6100 antutu.

I also Have same problem
First of all, I am very sorry to have posted in the false section.
@ Eric-Filth: Thanks for your answer!
I often did a data wipe/factory reset when I tried different ROMs.
My games run fine more or less, but I am sure that the performance could be better/smoother.
Again: I have NO IDEA why absolutely everyone has better results than me.
@ JJEgan: Yeah I know Benchmarks are often inaccurate, but I did run them so often and always got about the same results (very bad ones, obviously). It only varied about 100-200 points in both benchmarks. That is not too big of a difference, is it? But whatever, that is not what matters. Do you have a suggestion, noble sir?
BTW: Thanks for the quick judge! Compared to you, I am definitely a noob. So, why don't you use your wisdom to make suggestions for a noob like me?
No offense, m8!
Cheers!
Looking you results both benchmarks showing your problem is with cpu performace. Gpu performace is ok.
Enviado do meu GalaxyS2 usando Tapatalk 2.1
did you restore via titanium backup after wiping?
Yeah but what could be the problem? As far as I know, a modern CPU cannot be half-broken. It either works correctly or it's broken completely. The only reason I can imagine is overheating (thermal throttling lowering the performance), but that doesn't seem to be the case, as my phone hardly ever gets very hot...
Mine is also lagging in performance also around 2200in quadrant
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
@bluefa1con: errrrrr it's possible that I backed up my apps from stock after rooting and before installing my first custom ROM, which was actually the ResurrectionRemix ICS 1.x. After a while I backed up the ResRemix ROM with CWM and tried different ROMs but I eventually came back to Resurrection because I like this ROM most.
So yeah, I might have restored Apps with Titanium Backup when I first installed ResRemix.
Could that really be a problem?
Big thanks anyway!
I have almost sure if you do full wipe and no restore anything and install all again this problem will resolve.

maybe some of the data in your backup is corrupt and runs in the background and ruins performance
My phone went from 4k+ on stock Rom to less than 3 with ics resurrection..the rom is blazing fast and hence I don't really care.

Thank you very much! All of you!
I will do a full wipe and install everything all over again.
Only two more little questions:
1. Is there a "best" way to do the full wipe? After doing a factory reset and wiping the caches, I would go to mounts and storages and format internal storage. Would that do the trick?
2. Is there any way I can keep the user data of the apps so I don't lose all of my settings, game saves,...?
Cheers!

Have two good methods.
1- if you using stock rom. Type *2767*3855#
2- if you using custom. Enter CWM Recovery and wipe "data" "system" "cache"
I keep my save games this way.
/data/data/nameyourgame/files probaly you save game is there or inside /android/data/nameyourgame/
Post your results later.

for me xperianze and paranoid were good.. LOL actually dont expect too much from battery on an quad core phone..
but try an lite-weight sammy based rom with perseus kernel..
Try a small rom that has removed a lot of bloatware, use greenify app and best modem for your region, test some battery saving apps to find What's best for you.
