I have a problem in updating my system software to 6.1.A.2.45.
I have xperia SL
When updating the software, at last stage, when the volume down button is to be pushed along with inserting the micro USB cable, the USB cable is not recognized. Tried with other USB cables but failed. Tried updating it with PC companion, SONY flashing tool and SONY update service, but same problem persists.
I have windows 8 operating system.
Is it happening due to this ?
Pl help someone a solution for this.

hi friends, i just got a new sony live with walkman phone and i have just installed the sony companion. however when i plug my handset in the computer the software detects the handset for a while and then while installing drivers i get a message "device driver software not installed, contact your device manufacturer. i am unable to transfer any data on the handset. pls help. thanks

the issue is resolved. actually i had the phone plugged into usb 3.0 slot, bbut when i plugged it into usb 2.0 slot the issue was resolved. mods pls close this thread
Few days ago I've found a problem - I can't connect my phone to PC via USB cable. When I connect - phone is just charging but no debug, no usb-sign in statusbar, no reaction from PC companion, nothing except charging.
When I trying connect with SEUS - I need to go in bootloader-mode, but I can't do this because PC doesn't see my phone anyway...
I've tried two usb-cables and three different laptops with Win 7, 8 and XP - result was same - nothing.
MicroUSB looks like new one. I can't repair software because can't connect to PC, I've already make hard-reset via android settings - no results.
Someone know what to do? In my town no Sony service, may have a solution that does not require service?

i was updating my xperia z2(D6502) to marshmallow and after downloading the file of around 1030mb on sony pc companion update failed.Now it is not even recognising my phone..Help needed urgent.

Try using different USB ports on your pc. If none of them works. Try Xperia companion. It worked for me.

Have a problem with my phone, is that to the connect it to the pc the phone is connects and disconnects to each while, have them drives installed, have the pc companion, you "repair" the software if was that what affected but not turned out, you change the version of the 5.0 to it 6.0 thinking that was problem maybe of some file corrupt but nor.
Has anyone had this same problem?
The smartphone is already not in warranty so I can not take it for service.
I leave a video to see the error.

Hi, unfortunately I've had to go back to my xperia m4 aqua because my new phone ended up being bricked or locked or whatever and I can't seem to get it back on in anyway. It just stays on the same screen after doing resets and other things.
Anyway I need help with XPERIA. When I do an update using Xperia companion it will turn my phone off and tell me to do the hold down volume and put the usb in. I do that then it just comes up with USB not recognized. I've tried uninstalling and finding usb drivers etc. But nothing seems to work. Any help here? I haven't used my Xperia for a year so not sure if I should root my phone and do a rom install or something. I have no idea since I'm a noob.

(update) I have moved the USB to 2.0 ports. It says MTP USB Device not successfully installed (code10).
Also my XPERIA M4 AQUA is 5.0? I just read there is a 6.0? I can't seem to update ffs lol
