So I replaced my Droid Charge with the RAZR and rooted it. I got titanium backup and still had all my old backup files in my SD card. Under the same folder "Titanium Backup" but it doesn't show them there in the app. Tried refreshing and all that. How do I get my old backups?

You need to specify which folder that Titanium Backup should use for it's backups.
Menu -> Settings -> Path to backup (Not sure as to what it says since I don't have english language)
I did that, still won't see my old backups.

Is TiBU looking at the right sdcard partition?
There can be a TiBU folder on both partitions. They are "sdcard" and "sdcard-ext" sdcard-ext is the actual physical sd card. sdcard is partitioned built-in storage. Or copy the folder over to the other card.
^^What he said^^
TiBu wants to backup and restore from my phones Sd card rather than the external so to restore after a reset I always have go into settings and redirect the path too the external

Sorry to butt in, but this happens to be in the field of my problem too. I wanted to flash a ROM yesterday, but also knew that TiBu provided the option to flash an 'update.zip' file with all your backups to eliminate the long restore process, can anyone confirm the exact approach to doing this with safestrap 3.05?

I went from HTC Desire to this Motorola Attic bad boy.
There are a few apps with data I want copied over, which I backed up on my Desire. I rooted my Atrix. But it doesn't see my backups.
Is it even possible to do this, or are my backups only compatible with the Desire, or what?

i brought my backups from my captivate over to my atrix. some of the apps didnt carry over the settings, but that wasnt a big deal. did you copy your titaniumbackup folder from the old phone to the new phone?
When you copy the backup files to the new phone, there is an option in titanium to reset the application...this will find the files and allow backup

Yep. You could also get the pro version that allows you dropbox backup.

Very confused. I am having the same problem. I got a new phone today (upgraded from G2 to G2x)
I inserted my old SD card, rooted my phone, installed TBUpro (latest from market,) went to backup/restore and there are no backups there. I tried restoring all apps and data anyway. It said it was successful. But nothing changed on my new phone. (Of course I rebooted and verified the SD card is being read.)
All of my backups are in the default folder of the SD card where TBUpro placed them (with the old phone.) I'm supposed to copy them somewhere else?
For now I've given up and am having App Brain reinstall all of my apps, and Google restore my personal info. I'd still love to have my system settings and whatnot restored by TBU though. WTF?

I just saw that too..
I brought most of my apps over from my MT3GS with TiBu. The only one I really had an issue with was Angry Birds, no matter how I restored it, it would force close. I'm thinking some kind of architecture difference.
Also watch what cross platform system settings you restore. I finally figured out restoring my old wireless ap info is what b0rked my wifi.
Hi... the phone needs to be rooted, but also needs sideloading enabled.

Yes, or change the backup location by pressing menu, preferences. Use detect to locate sdcard-ext this is the removable micro sd card.

This did it. You need to go inside Titanium Backup. hit MENU key -> Backup Folder location --> Hit the DETECT! button. Then choose the desired location (it will you all the backup locations available.)

is TIBU checking /mnt/sdcard or /mnt/sdcard-ext?
i had to point ultimate backup to the latter, as my backups were on my sd card and not the device's internal storage. sort of wonky that it uses a different mount point :/

This.
Most of the time apps tries to read /mnt/sdcard. But that's not the case with the Droid Razr.
So I downloaded titanium backup but when I back apps. It doesn't back them up to my external SD card but instead to my internal SD card, please help

Change the backup folder from Preferences screen
Yea I looked around online and I moved the backup file to the external SD. My only question now is if I get a new phone and of course the titanium app isn't on there, if I just reinstall it than it'll detect my back ups on my sdcard right?

Before I sent my phone off for repair I did a full backup of Apps and Data. Now my phone is back and I'm trying to restore but am unclear how to do this. In TB I don't see anywhere that allows me to choose to restore from where I backed up to. What am I missing?

I hope you still have the backups created by titanium backup with you... Because there is a very good probability that when u sent your phone for repair they formatted everything... If not
Open TB app, press the menu key and open batch option.
In the restore column there wud be an option to restore you apps.... If not then the backups have been deleted!!! You will have to manually install them again... Srry

TiB backs up to /mnt/sdcard/TitaniumBackup so you must have the SDCard you originally backed up to inserted or it won't know where to look.

From "Preferences", set your "Backup folder location" to the folder having your old backups. After that, go to "Backup/Restore" tab. Now, you can find all of those old backup entries. Either restore them individually or use "Batch" from menu.
That's it!
Perfect! That's exactly what I was looking for - thanx!

I'm not too sophisticated in all this stuff, not sure if/how to do this. I have a rooted Droid Razr Maxx, stock ROM (wanted to be able to tether without monthly fee). When I upgraded from my original Droid, I copied the sd and put the new one in the Razr. This sort of worked, but left the new 32gb card partitioned, with 8gb read as "sd card", the rear as "ext-sd card". The 8gb filled quickly, and I can't download much, even though I have a lot of space on the card. I have been backing up with Titanium Backup, hoping I can use it to fix this. I also purchased a Sandisk 64gb card, which I read (and it claims on the package) is comparable/formatted foe Android. Can I use the 64gb card, then put everything back with TB (and how)? Do I have to reformat the 32gb card instead, then get everything back on it with TB (and how)? Or do I just have to redownload apps, copy media to PC, then replace, without an easy route through TB? I'd appreciate any help, thanks.
[Q] i am going to install jb rom for my s3..my question is..can i backup my all my apps and it's data..because i have many big games..each one about 1gb..and i dont want to lose them..is there any way?!! Plz need quick answer
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Just install "titanium backup" from play store. Backup your apps and system. Flash your another ROM, install TB again. And restore your apps.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Dont forget to back up to external SD, otherwise when wiping sd card, you lose your backups too. (personal experience)
Also make a nand backup, in case you want to revert
Plus you should already have a backup of your EFS folder .
jje
Dirry.. what is EFS folders ?!!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
EFS contains your IMEI.
it doesn't always happen, but sometimes you can lose that information and your imei becomes 00000000000000 or somesuch.
Where i can find this folder?!! Abd now..the best way ti backup my apps is via nand backup?!! Because i have many games have big extrrnal data not shown or backup with the backup apps..
Here is what i will do and tell me if i made wrong..i will backup my all data with any of backup app..then make a nand backup..to backup the apps external data..then after flashing..i will restore apps from the backup app. .and if i launch itnit will ask me to downliad the data again..but niw i will restore that data from nand backup...is that wilk work?!! Is taht all right..
Thanks....

Here's the easiest breakdown:
Get Titanium Backup. (buy the pro key if you want. If you flash quite abit, it's worth the money)
Back up all your apps (it will also back up your data) and make sure it's backed up to your sd card.
export your messages, call history, and wifi ap as xml (via TB. hit menu to see the export option)
Use your Contact app to export all your contacts as a vcf file.
If you're using a rom that has Aroma Installer, you should be given an option to back the efs folder up. I think it's also found on the root directory or in the system folder. It's a folder that says EFS. you can't miss it.
now go into cwm, do a nand backup.
once that's done.
Wipe cache and data
install new rom.
set it up.
and do the reverse of the backups off everything. (so import instead of export and restore instead of backup)
EDIT: try not to back up system settings. restoring that would most likely cause FCs or a full crash. but restoring the usual apps are almost always ok. Avoid system apps unless you know they're the same.

It doesn't matter, the big game files are stored on sdcard and are not concerned by flashing process. They'll be preserved and when restoring app the game will automatically detect them.
What we call data app are all settings, stored in /data partition and erased with data wipe process. The graphical data used by games to run are not the same thing.
What Striatum said.
Mean the flashing doesnt earase all data on sd card?!!! (I an talking about internal i dont have external card...and all thing is stored on the internal....that u meab?!!flashing doesnt delete all sd inernal fard?!!!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
no it doesn't erase the internal card. I have maintained the structure of my internal card when I flashed from stock to Omega.
The internal card is treated as a storage card. when they say wipe, they meant wipe the part of the storage that is partitioned for the rom, not for the partition that is for user storage.
So if you follow what I told you.. you would be all set.
Thanks bro
