Get the ICS look on any device (no root required) - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 Themes and Apps

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1874081
just read the whole thread

A custom is fine for
downloading all those apps
Installing them
Setting them up
A lot of ram usage
Phone will slow down
Sent from my cm_totoro using xda-premium

Hmm yea
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda app-developers app

but it will not bring ics animation/popups/progress/spinner/status bar etc which is in framework.. so i think a ics themed rom is fine..
but i bored of ics looks

[Q] Official ICS Launcher?

Now that the sources are released, is it possible to make the Launcher2.apk to work on all devices? If yes, then would someone do it?

+1, i alredy created a thread for this but without any resoults, they all just send me links to themes or clones.
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
Yeah... i dont want any thenes nor clones... I want the real thing.. i suppose they need to change the framework.. maybe make it compatible w/ CM7..
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
So we need a dev to do it.

I don't think it's possible.. I mean look at Gingerbread, nobody except for the Nexus S really had it..
Yeah there were lots of lookalikes on the market but nothing really had that smooth 3D app drawer.

Yeah but if you enter the app drawer you'll see it's lacking the smooth 3D effect that the real one has
NAAAAAAh thats wrong. On my Xperia Play the Gingerbread launcher is perfect, icons are not blurry at all and completly smooth, it is just perfect. Also GB Launcher and and ICS launcher are very differen. there is no 3d app drawer in ICS.
It can probably be ported to Gingerbread, but they are using some of the new Ice Cream Sandwich APIs so it is going to take some work. Some things like widget resize, widget preview and animation stuff are not available in Gingerbread so it might not be possible to port all functionality.
Hmmm thats not nice to hear. Anyway, even without widget priviw it would be awesome.

Ok do it as i did.. MAKE SURE DEVICE IS ROOTED..
1 .install any launcher from playstore..
2. delete this apks from system/app (Home.apk, DefaultThemes.apk, HomeAdds.apk, HomePreference.apk, WeatherWidget.apk)( using rootexlporer) tap r/w in system/app and you can copy and keep backup of your original apks somewhere in sd card.. and you can push it same way if you want it back
2. copy downloaded apks..
3. paste it in sytem/app (and make sure not filling rom memory less then 40 mb or 50mb, just to keep some space:silly:, see top for memory info).
4. change permissions to (of those apks which pasted.. see thumbnail for changing permissions )
finally Reboot.. there you are.. enjoy...now you can Uninstall the launcher which you have downloaded from playstore
May be you know how to push apps to system using RootExplorer..
just little info who are new and for those who are struggling to install this apps...
And sorry My English is not so good..

Not really. There are apps in the market that allow you to manually replace the icons used on your home screen. You can also pull the framework files like systemui.apk and manually replace the pngs.

Thank you for your kind answers...
I tried many threads/posts and none had working links of CM9 except uploaded.
I'm searching for a custom rom that can read .avi files and run large games like CSR racing without fc/crashing and that's better than stock ICS, sadly i'm still searching...
I can live without wifi direct, tethering, fm radio...
Any recommendations? I warn you that i alreadt tried many...and always end up returning to ICS

I remember that the spinner animation in that rom crashed and was laggy. Does that happen to you? Also how do you replace the framework?
Sent from Hacker's U
Yes. Rom was fast until install10+ apps and was laggy with Greenify app. Now enjoying TheBrainsICSwith full KitKat look. i have copy & Framework system in a folder of KitKat V3 and copy it TheBrainsICS and replace all files and restart phone. That is all

The BrainsRom is based on an old firmware, why don't you use latest ICS fw. 100 like i do?
Also it
s impossible to replace the whole framework directory while the phone is running, how did you do it?
Sent from Hacker's U
ics becasue latest FW on my phone BrainsROM going to bootlop. and i use file manager (explorer) and allow root in setting (file manager). copy full file framework (kitkat look) and copy it and replace all system files.
