So I just installed Cyanogenmod 10 and now I have no Verizon signal as if my phone is not activated at all. Please help I really need service back asap!
Where did you get cm10? Are you trolling?
Edit. If you made a nandroid go back to that. If not search around and you'll be OK.

I used the latest nightly build from the get.cm page.
And you said to search around? I did make a backup but won't that take me off CM10? I have been searching but all I can find are guides for old ass phones from years ago.

Most likely you've flashed a rom that wasn't made for our VZW variant which in the process has changed your kernel. Try restoring your backup.

There is not yet a CM10 build for the Verizon variant of the note 2. You jumped the gun on this. The only note 2 CM10 build on the get.cm site is for the international version. If that's what you flashed then that easily explains your activation problem. Restore your backup and wait for someone to put out a CM10 build specifically for this device.

Well what a damn shame. CM10 is one slick rom. I'm a total noob to this whole thing and had no idea that roms must be made to fit specific carriers. Oh well, bye bye CM10 it is :crying:. Restoring now.
On a side note: What are some good roms that are out now? I hate Touchwiz .
Use this rom for your Verizon galaxy note

Let's look for things before calling people wrong and saying they are flashing incorrect things.

To the OP: Restart and clear cache. If that doesn't work try to go to Airplane mode for a minute or so then turn it off. The post says it might take a bit to get data. I have not flashed the Alpha CM build so I'm sorry I can't help much.

Yeah the ROOTing, Unlocking bootloader, and flashing ROMs has become a mess. Too many news websites pick up on these initial XDA announcements and then floods of people come who have no idea what they are doing. I have been doing custom ROMs for the last 2 years and I still feel hesitant with the Note 2 since the development is not there yet and everything seems unclear at the moment.

You do realize that he posted this thread BEFORE the alpha build was posted here don't you? I'm guessing not, so maybe you should pay attention to time stamps before yelling at other people. This is why I stated there wasn't a public build available yet, as sbrissen hadn't yet posted it for everyone.

Hello all.
I have searched this issue quite a bit, and I have some ideas, I just need a bit of direction.
So, I have a rooted Galaxy S2 running ICS version 4.0.3. I rooted it via Zedomax's youtube videos (I would link it, but youtube has closed his account FREE ZEDO!) Some mornings, when i wake up, I notice my WiFi is not connected and my phone is using 3G for its data. So, I go look in the WiFi list and it is on, but its not connected. I tap connect, nothing happens. It doesn't even try. I forget the network and re-enter the credentials, nothing. I reboot the phone, same thing. Finally, once i remove the battery a few times, it starts to work but not very well. I have a Netgear WNR2000V3 router. Just did a fresh upgrade/install of the latest firmware. All of my other wireless devices at home stay on and work fine. Now, i did notice that ever since i rooted when i first got my phone on version 2.3, i had WiFi issues. So my first thought is it could be my kernel? Like i said, this only happens at home. I also have the exact same router (WNR2000v3) for my staff WiFi at work and I have no trouble connecting each morning.
So, what are the steps i can take to fix this? Is this a known issues with the ATT SGS2? Am I missing something?
I would post a sreenshot of my phone info but since I'm a new user I won't be able to so here it is in text!

No body seems to have mentioned it but since you are rooted go to them market and get Titanium Back up. That allows you to back up all of your apps and data then restore it when you get the new ROM flashed.

I realize this is probably noobish, but I've been reading a lot of xda threads and getting really confused. Has anyone figured out how to root a Galaxy Ace 2, with Android 4.0.4 and ICS IMM761 firmware? I tried to do an odin flash based upon instructions I read online--if it worked, I was going to use I8160XXLD8_ready_to_root_ANT.tar.md5 and an update zip--but my attempt to do so kept backfiring when the phone froze repeatedly within 2 or 3 seconds of being put into download mode. Maybe I just got the ordering wrong?
Anyway, my underlying goal is try to get the sixaxis working on the phone--though I'm sure rooting the phone will have a lot of other uses. Any input would be appreciated.

This is the Droid DNA forums, as the title says. You have a Galaxy Ace 2, not a Droid DNA. Please go to the correct forums.
If you were me, what would you do in this situation? I had to get a replacement Note 2 and the replacement thankfully came with the VRALJB software installed. I deferred the update to L4 for 5 days.
Would you just root and unlock the bootloader now the easy way, or take the L4 update and do it the harder way? Would either way be beneficial or does it not really matter?
Thanks!
Go ahead and unlock/root. You don't have to do anything further if you don't want to and you never know how difficult it would be to unlock in the future.
When I purchased mine outright it had the older software. I used the jailbreak method and that worked like a charm.

Either way. Just do it on the current software and save a step. Same end result.

As others said doesn't matter. Once you flash aROM you could just flash the LL4 radio and it would be the same as the OTA.
So I guess Odin didn't fix your last one?

Yup, I had the S3 for a while and was over there. Yeah man, I was chatting to the developer of the Jedi ROM and I sent him the meta folder of the ROM that I flashed for beta testing and he saw some problems. He said it was touching some partitions that it shouldn't be touching.
Anyhow, I guess I learned the hard way to be careful of testing ROMs from devs that I don't really recognize.

Ohkay,
After being drilled by the LGOG community, I've decided "F***k it, im converting to N4"
First, I would like to know the oder of installations. After converting to N4, do you install the fixes (AT&T modem, volume keys etc)
or do you MOD storage from 8gb to 16gb of internal first? Or does it even matter? I would like to have no doubts/questions before I
start this conversion and would greatly appreciate insight from devs and senior members that have done this.
Thanks and advance and again sorry for all those offended by my last post.
You were getting "drilled" because you decided to sign up to xda just to make a post about switching phones, lol. If you had read the other several posts that were just like that one, you would see that you getting a different phone makes no difference to this community.
Regarding the installations, I don't think it matters. You could simply install them by the dates of the OP.

Fair enough, good luck!
The order doesn't matter for some of the things but I would
1. Convert
2.Fix Storage
3. Flash rom
4. Flash fixes if not using the already fixed ROM
5. Flash baseband
I've converted to and from about 13 times because of the urge to try normal lgog roms

This is the already fixed ROM on the forums. Its based off of 4.2.2 its cm 10.1. I use it and everything works fine for me . Make sure to flash the fix for the latest ROM on that thread as well

This is a flash able fix for ROMs based off of what every version you download. I think its either for aosp based ROMs or cm 10.1 ROMs. For other ROMs you need to change out the framework-res and pull the framework-res.apk/xml/storage-list.xml from the fixed framework res originally the zip and patch it.

So I've searched the ROM's thread, the safestrap thread, and the general forums. Like I said, I've seen multiple people ask about it, but no one has replied. While I appreciate expecting people to have done a forum search, I have done this. I know safestrap is a little bit different than a S4 MDK bootloader.
What I have seen is replies from people who have done the upgrade from scratch and clearing their ROM slots first. I'm sure this works fine. I'm asking about something a bit different.

The rom itself is very smooth no issues for me at all... I installed to a previously used slot via sstrap3.71 after clearing data cache etc. Are you wanting to know if you can lack of better terms dirty flash personally I just back up, wipe then istall.
My question is, I guess, if you can do the OTA upgrade in one step? Is that just a download of the ROM then u need to flash it yourself? Or does it simply upgrade to RLS13 and keep your data and work smoothly with that method. Most people it seems do a clean ROM install for the upgrade as opposed to OTA.

to me, this is the only way ever to install any ROM. Download to computer, verify MD5 of the DL and copy over to extsd card. Reduces the risk of a bad install........just saying, there are reasons some of us NEVER have an installation issue on any ROM
