Cool chart. It would be nice if they did a test to compare the N7100 (unit they tested) to the Verizon version to see how well it compares.
Thanks for sharing the link

It almost looks like they were paid off on part of it. Showing the iphone only where it did well, and the pantech only where it did bad etc. You're supposed to pick other phones that people may be comparing it to and stick with them. Not sure why they decided to put random phones in each one.
Edit: didn't see expand button lol

Yeah the one thing that has surprised me with the Note 2 is just how the screen really isn't the guzzler on the device. The Exynos Quad doesn't have the best standby consumption, but for beating the crap out of it with the screen on, the thing just goes on forever.

I find the opposite in my case, the razr maxx has slightly better battery life, but it's no problem since I'm still easily able to get through a full day on a charge.

Note II's battery life is insane. 16 hrs on battery with about 8 of those hrs serving WIFI hotspot, 2 hrs 41 mins screen on time and 20% left.
This phone battery is the best, hands down. Every Android device I had before this required either an extended battery or an extra one.
This phone gets me through the day(s) and then some. I'm a power user, I'm on my phone constantly checking email, playing music watching videos or just trolling the forum and this battery kicks ass!
Here is a screen shot I took earlier today.

Agreed. Used to constantly carry a spare battery with me for my Galaxy Nexus. Since I have had my Note II for the past month I haven't had to worry at all about the battery dying on me from heavy usuage. Screen is constantly on because I use snote during my classes to take notes.

I do plan on getting this phone, but i really want to know how long the battery last on HSDPA/HSPA since i don't have LTE in my country(am getting the international version). I do know battery consumption on HSPA is not as much as LTE networks but the question is "is it still good enough for a day without carrying a charger" I am a student nurse and i do stay in school for a long time. I use my phone to check up things on the internet(So annoying to carry a laptop around ..) and watch a lot of videos too(to understand better practicals done in the lab). has any one any good reports.....Screen shots will help plsss. am also concerned about the how long the battery last while watching videos (yep those ones...believe me is not easy seeing all that blood:crying...... well i will also post a pole up there.....SOO tell me guys.... if u were a student? will u bye a note 2 or the butterfly(droid dna)
For your needs note 2. The butterfly battery will last you one day depending on usage. With heavy usage you can expect a near dead battery by evening hours. I have light to moderate usage on my dna so my 6am to 9pm day I usually have about mid 30s left. I have both phones and the note 2 will go a whole day even if your on it for hours on end.
If you get the Japanese j buttery fly then the battery is 2500 (not completely sure)the us version has a 2020 battery which is not as good but will last.u the.whole day for me at least
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I agree with #2, the DNA wont last you through those video sessions. It lasts me fine with normal usage, but i suspect that you're going to be a heavy user so you will run down your battery pretty fast. I would even recommend the Razr HD Maxx if the note 2 is too big for you

pretty sure the japanese version is 2020, that's why everyone was up in arms before the DNA was announced...we all thought it would be 2500, but that was all rumor. it was always 2020.

No comment.....

Well my long awaited Nexus 4 came today, and after using it for a few hours, I decided to keep my Amaze.
My main problems with the Amaze - poor battery life and crap Sense OS - have finally been alleviated with a new 1900mA battery and CM10.
Don't get me wrong, the Nexus is a beautiful device, great weight, good battery, very fast, lovely screen. However I agree with some reviewers that the screen is a little washed out, and the
Amaze definitely has a better camera. Most importantly, I was pretty sure that I would break or scratch that back pretty quickly. I like to be able to pocket my phone so that means no cases, and even banging up against a car door might be enough to shatter the back if it was in my pocket.
Last September I was in the La Merce fireworks parade in Barcelona and my amaze got knocked out of my hands face down on cobblestones where several people trampled it. Other than a nick on the corner it showed no damage at all. Now imagine that had been a Nexus 4. Dead phone.
Not worth it. I'll take the rugged Amaze with its excellent camera and CM10 and someone else can have a nice Nexus for Christmas.
Thanks to all the devs here for making the Amaze truly amazing.

Its also considered the "Super Nexus" because of its specs and how well AOSP/CM runs on it. (basically its what the nexus 4 should be... google should have went with samsung again)
BTW, heres a good wallpaper for the S3 when running CM10. Its the super nexus wallpaper.

I'm sadden that the Amaze has few Dev teams. Even after a year that I have had my Amaze, it's still plagued with OS issues. Most stable rom is Energy and it's full of minor but annoying bugs. Been just dealing with it.
I love how it's sturdy, which is why I chose it over the S2. I recently got a hold of a AtNt S3 and it has a cracked screen. I should be getting a screen tomorrow. If 4g works well, I will be switching phones. Tired of just "dealing with it" and I have been hoping for a opportunity to change phones. Unless of course CM10 fixes the BT audio routing problem.

I've had my amaze for 8 months now and now an running energy-stock look. I'm curious to what the bugs are that you encounter. My phone runs prefect. Could use more battery life, but it isn't bad for me. I always get a full day out of it.

I picked up a 3600mah battery, it messes with the camera, but with 20% battery usage for a heavy used day, I can get a week of heavy use out of it.
Its nice to be able to drive for 5 hours playing music and still be able to watch a movie or 2 when i want to chill before bed.
Plus SD Cards work in it, 64 gig class 10 cards!
if i have a choice i would keep Nexus4...thats the device which is made for developers what means so many diffrent ROMs etc
how many options do we have for Amaze? for Nexus ... go and look at their forums...:good:

Agreed. If you can't make it through the day on the stock battery you probably have something running constantly in the background or a wakelock issue.

Got to agree with the people up top. Download something like GSam Battery and check what's running in your background.

Do not have a clue what a wake lock is but I am lucky to get 2 days, when GPS and bluetooth are on 24/7.
I like them on always, GPS for my runs and bluetooth for the car, gear, and fitbit.
Turn GPS off seems better.
I've been off the charger for 30 min, pretty constant use checking messages and such, down %5 that's 10%/hour, 5 hours of screen on time? If it were more like 9 I could actually make it through a day at work.
Heres a screen shot, I just downloaded that gsam battery app, so we'll see today what happens

I received this extended battery case from Anker this past Thursday.... and have been putting it through the tests. And I have to say that I LOVE IT! I use the hell out of my new Note 3, and yes I was getting wonderful battery use of of it, it still didn't quite make it through the day. That's where my Anker 6400mAh Extended battery kicks in.
Most of you who read this will agree... you micro-manage and tweak your battery setting on your devices. I did it on my S4 and now I found myself doing it with my Note 3. But using this new extended battery, I do not have to anymore. I still charge my device everynight, I just find that I don't have to worry about finding a charge outlet late in the day.
I did not do any scientific tests... but I ran this over the weekend without charging, with moderate to heavy use, and I got roughly 26 hours use until I hit 20%. That's using it heavy on Saturday all day (shooting photos, phone, game play). Went to bed without charging. Then using it yesterday for all day. Wataching my NFL app, and checking fantasy football scores all day.
Build quality is SOLID. I have had Anker batteries on all my smartphones, and they are built great. They are juiced as advertised.
The extended cover fits tight, and I still maintain access to all the posts. It doubles the width (thickness of the phone) but its not terrible in the hand. BIGGEST complaint..... the super glossy back! It is "slick" (slippery), and it is a HUGE fingerprint magnet!!!
I highly recommend this case to all you power users!

Did you happen to test out NFC by chance? Also, I wonder how likely it would be to use an extended Anker with the wireless charging mod. (Thinking out loud)
I'm curious how you came up with the "Google Wallet Capable" part?
Currently, Google wallet works with the Note 3, but you can't apparently use the touch payment part because Google Wallet has no access to the secure element in the phone (it is blocked from the app).
Please post more pics with the phone and the battery on .
Thanks

I have the Zerolemon battery on my S3 and I absolutely it. It lasts nearly a week on a full charge and its 7000mAh. With 10000mAh, the mega would be unstoppable, lol.
i have one. its HUGE tho after the case is on. its like carrying a small brick around all day , if the case was more a hard plastic like a otterbox i was gonna glue a belt clip on the back of it lol!
Just receive one today and charge it right now. Looking forward to using it. Hope it will keep my phone going for at least 3 days ^^
can you post some pics on how the mega looks like with the battery and case on?
The phone is 2 times heavier than normal and 2 times thicker ^^. But the battery last like more than 3 times longer ^^
I used to go through one normal charge from work listening to Pandora, screen on most of the time, ingress half the way. The trip is about 1 hour. I would then use it to surf and chat and video call for a few hours. By tonight I believe I will probably have to charge it. So, instead of 1-3 charges I am chargin 1x a day.
I just don't see the need. I use my phone heavily and only charge daily if even that. The thing is so thin - I can't even stand a case on it. I can't imagine turning it into a piece if masonry.

Everyone has their reasons and my personal one was I like the idea of knowing my battery wont die on me, sure its big and it might take longer to charge but I just plug it in before bed and wake up to 100%. The case, while big also adds a layer of protection as well
