Thanks guys in advance
Its done. I followed everything and all went smooth. Thanks alot Danny and all of you who replied

You are on the right adress.
If you follow these steps you can root your phone in 5-10 minutes.
1. Turn on your phone, connect it to your pc and install the drivers of your phone (so your phone can connect to your pc)
2. Turn of your phone and remove the usb cable
3. Hold the volume down button, power button and home button for like 10 seconds so your phone go to download mode, press volume up so your phone go further
4. Put the usb cable in your phone and connect it to your pc.
5. Open Odin (download link after tutorial)
If your phone is connected correctly you get a yellow bar with COM: (then a random number)
6. Press ''PDA'' and select the .TAR file (download link after tutorial)
Be sure its a .TAR file, otherwise your phone will brick
7. Press ''START'' your phone will root now, after the root it will reboot automaticly, check if you have this apps: CWM and SuperSU.
Download link Odin:
http://db.tt/fqvwktih (unzip it and copy ALL the files to one folder)
Download link root file:
http://db.tt/kbEY1fEZ (this is the .TAR file)
OR
http://db.tt/h1myMuQl (this is the
.Zip file, be sure to unzip it)
I recommend to download the .TAR file cause you dont have to unzip it)
If you need further help just DM me.

What you will get is reminded that you are supposed to read the rules/not open up multiple threads/search before opening new threads/include details of phone in posts for help.
So if you want help you need to show this forum some respect...lol

In your case ? Very long odds on I'd say.
Edit - For example, if 0 = no chance of you bricking it & 1 = you definitely bricking it, I'd say the chances of you bricking it are 0.99

Just make sure you dont make a factory reset on that phone because you'll be affected by the 'Superbrick bug'.

But this is the only thread i started. I think. But if i have I'm sorry

Okay now you're rooted your device you need to make a backup with CWM, after that you can flash ROMS/updates etc.
The first ROM i flashed was CM10 because on the stock i cant use mobile odina and that was a problem.
Tell me which rom you want and i make a tutorial.

can you give a tutorial link
It is worth to invest few bucks in Chainfire's Mobil Odin Pro from Playstore to flash any Rom (stock or custom) with EverRoot option. It is good solution for people with moderate knowledge about flashing, rooting, etc. It's also safer method for those people because there is no chance to screw up bootloader or choose inproper flash images to selected partitions.
But flashing original stock ICS and rooting it is not so hard. It's free but you need to know some basics.

Gyz if u wanna update ur firmware from gingerbread or ics 4.0.3 to ICS 4.0.4, at first u need 2 wipe ur phone factory data, catch partition & delvic catch. Don't wipe factory data/catch partition from stock recovery in ics 4.0.4. cuz its have brickbug. check if ur phone have brickbug or not by this apps "eMMC brickbug check" from Google play store. After wipe then update ur phone firmware by select PDA in odin. download latest(30/7/12) unbranded European ics 4.0.4 XWLPU stock firmware in this link:
http://db.tt/3nw1oSmr
plz backup ur all necessary document/phone numbers/mms/sms etc. after flash when phone restart & automatic install some apps. After that flash again brickbug free LPU safe kernel by select pda in odin. download brickbug free LPU kernel in this link:
http://db.tt/nmBbS5jg
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807995
Wanna root ur by this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746794
U first read my step by step method then download cwm touch 6.0.1. Zip file & root super su 0.95 Busybox 1.20.2. zip file from 1st page.

Rooting the Galaxy 2 on ICS 4.0.4, Stock XXLQ6

Heya
I'm rooting my phone for the first time. Had a quick look around the web and couldn't find the exact instructions for rooting the stock XXLQ6. However I have read that using the instructions set for xxlq5 is safe and won't cause any major issues.
Should I root the XXLQ6 using XXLQ5 instructions?
If not, please recommend any(safest) instructions on how I should root the XXLQ6.
Flash siyah kernel from www.gokhanmoral.com. Download the odin flashable one and flash it.
I suggest you be extremely careful if you follow another guide, since the stock kernel you have is dangerous and can hardbrick your phone.

That kernel is rooted. When you flash it, you wont have to do anything else to root it. Simply flash it from the pda section in odin.

Hi. I'm new to rooting and i would just like to make sure that I can use siyah kernel to safely backup/restore and wipe data/factory reset. I have the emmc brick bug (i checked using the app in the play store). It read that if i use stock kernel that i can hardbrick my deivce if i wipe data or restore a backup but is it the same situation with siyah kernel. Is is 100% safe to use this kernel. Sorry if this is a stupid question but i couldn't really find the answer anywhere else. I just want to make sure doing this will be safe.

Don't wipe anything, or make any backup after rooting your phone. Let me know when your phone is rooted, then I'll guide about flashing a custom kernel immediately. This way you are safe.
Or
If you are so, so scared, then i will advise you to flash a custom kernel via Odin at once. This is faster and safer in your case.
So which one do you prefer?

Hey there,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S II, the info about the phone is in the attachment (Screenshot). I have been considering to root my phone lately due to the problems with my GPS. I have understood, that by rooting my phone, I can have access to such apps as FasterFix and GPS Aids which should solve the problem of changing my NTP server. I guess, that since the phone was bought abroad, it hasn't got the correct server in my country. So tell me, what is the best and the safest way to root my phone and is it even a good idea? Maybe you have other solutions? Anyways, I hope for your help, dear XDA-Developers
Cheers,
Olev.
EDIT:
Just checked the Got Brick bug? app. Found out that the kernel indeed is Known to have the bug. Really hoping for your help in solving this problem before I do something wrong with the phone.
Thank you in advance,
Olev.

[Q] I messed up! :( *Flashing help needed*

I really F'ed up.
I was running ICS on my bell Galaxy S2 but I wanted to try the S3 rom that was released here. (Note that I am somewhat a stupid when it comes to android flashing). I installed a CF-root kernel (phone wasn't CWM at the time) but the phone didn't turn work - it would go to black screen.
So I tried a couple different kernels, nothing worked. Then I went crazy and flashing just about everything. Nothing has changed.
When I turn the phone on, it gets stuck at the Galaxy S II screen. When I go to download mode, it is like usual (no CWM, the standard one). And when I go into recovery, it says "Forced Upload, by key pressing".
What can I do now? I would like to just get the phone working at this point, official firmware that works with kies would be nice. S3 rom would be even better.
Whoever helps me solve this would be my hero. Serious.
EDIT: I am now on clockwork recovery if that helps.

If you know how to get it to the S3 rom (or just get the cool gesture features) that would be nice but if not I'll be happy on stock ICS until I learn a lot more about flashing.

And as for ur questions:

2. How to flash 4.1.2?
3. Can u change from GB to ICS?
Right?
If that's the case, please tell us if u want GB, ICS or JB 4.1.2?
To flash 4.1.2, or to update GB to ICS, download a stock firmware from sammobile.com and flash it using Odin.

the reading I do since at least d them weeks, but as I'm new, so I preferred not to risk!
Start for the root if you will allow me:
you correct me if I slip next:
my phone version is the JPKF3
so I must take the insecure version or original located on this link?

As I said, start reading about doomslord one click root.
Being new doesn't cut it, we can guide you but you gotta have, at least, a slighest idea of what you are doing.

i dont know where the room for passing in android 4.1.2

Get Mobile odin from play store. If you want that app to root your device while flashing it, get the pro version.
Visit sammobile.com for 4.1.2 ROMs or the official jelly bean thread sticked in the general forum.

It's not too clear for me, I am a novice in the field
you have been of great help to me, it will be good to continue (thank you)
I'll Flash jellly bean version 4.1.2
1 / once the flash set, file cfroot take to the rooter again, since after a 4.1.2 I lose the root I do yesterday!
2 / esct can I recover my data with a backup that I do with kies before when I was with the 2.3.3?
or so it will take any reinstall to recover my data
Thanks for your help
Why don't you do it as I suggested?
It's easier.
Anyway, don't use kies to back up, use titanium back up pro.

[Q] [I9300] Rooting Advice

Hello
Hi, I'm very new to this forum. I just got my Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 (International) and searched about rooting the GS3. Root will void the warranty and if I have a problem, I can ask the community for help.
What I really need to know is,
1)what will happen when I unplug the usb cable while my phone in the download mode?
2)Is there a problem that can't be fixed on Samsung Galaxy S3?
3)Most of the "how to root SG3 GT-I9300 using odin" root from android ICS and goes to Jellybean while my android version already 4.3 Jellybean. How to root it to android 4.4.4 Kitkat?
I need some advice should I root the GS3?
Maybe there is more thing I need to know but, this is enough for me to know at this time. Thanks
Hloo

Hello
1)Just dont unplug usb cable if u're flashing something to your phone while in download mode. if you're not flashing/doing anything then nothing happens
2) Could you be more specific? Like what kind of problem? Software side , i think there is not ^^
3) i9300 did not recieve official kitkat update, you can only have kitkat if you're going to flash custom ROMs(kitkat).
You have to root your phone on your current ROM ( 4.3 jellybean) , then u will flash latest cwm recovery and after that u will flash Any custom ROM u want ^^
You should indeed root your S3 to remove bloatware/system apps that u never use. This helps your battery to last longer, alot.
Also Touchwiz becomes smoother with way less apps on background ^^
For rooting:
download Chainfire's CF-Auto-Root for i9300, extract/unzip it.
Put ur phone in download mode and flash the file via Odin

You're welcome, hit the Thanks button if i helped you
After rooting and installing latest CWM recovery for your i9300, You can find Kikat custom roms in here(xda), download the one u like and flash it.
You need to put the rom in ur phone memory/sdcard, enter recovery mode and flash it.
Its 5 months already that im using S5 Sensation ROM | kitkat 4.4.4 for my i9300. This rom comes with S5/note4 features and performs pretty well.

No problem at all Rooting doesnt give you any kind of problem ^^ Just dont mess with system files unless you know what you're doing.
Main purpose of rooting is to remove bloatware ( useless system applications) and make battery life longer with some modifications.
