This is not my first time asking this but I have had limited response so far.
(Mods if you feel this thread should be deleted because of that feel free)
I think many of us do like the freedom of using other launchers then the stock SE one, but many of the new widgets that came with 2.3.3 only work on the SE homescreen. The timescape widget being the main one, but now also the friends games, music and videos sharing etc...
I would like to request if anyone has any experience or knowledge in this could they have a look at the possibilty of making these widgets available on third party homescreens. I do not have a clue where to begin on this, except to ask for help....
Lets see what can be done...
Many thanks to anyone that tries to help on this.
Regards
Greg
Greg iv wanted that to happen for ages man =)

It's next to impossible, at least for most of the widgets.
If a widget is hardcoded to work on a specific launcher, only thing you could do (and might very well not even work in the first place)
is edit another launcher accordingly to accomodate it.
But that generally is inconvenient as 3rd party launchers available in the Market are updated often.
So, this is a no-go.

Kind of like Occam's Razor: simplest (or in this case, first) answer is the right one.
I was just making this thread when I the suggested threads list showed that it has already been made. Lol. And by who else but my friend Greg himself. Lol

I guess only the tinescape is problematic. Others do work on adw. I have tried.

I use spb, i would love timescape but also the photowidget, does that wrk on adw?
Nope. Actually timescaoe n photo widget are the apps that keep me from moving to other launchers. The spline like effect in both rocks.

Hey all,
I was just wondering if there was a simple way to change the overall font in the aokp rom. I don't know much about working on the phone other than the basic flashing of roms and kernels. I noticed that there are some apps on google play but many don't seem to work well with ics. I'm only asking this because a little while back I used ShoStock2 and it had an option to change the font in settings->display->font.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
If this is an obvious method please do not attack me. I did do a search here and on google and only found apps and custom scripts (like I said, I'm not very phone savy and prefer not to mess with too many things on my own).
Thanks in advance

Another vote for Font Installer. I use it all the time. There are other ways to do it, but this is simplest (and safest, I'd say). It comes with a bunch of fonts available, but you can add others. Great app!

It does not work with core Gapps (AOSP launcher "Launcher3"). You have to use Google (apps) launcher for custom font. There is no font app (I know; FontInstaller, MyFont, iFont, Type Fresh,...) atm that's working with AOSP launcher. On my daily build of AOKP for flo (KitKat) it does not work at all.

I think that this site is what you need
http://www.downloadonline.info/2013/02/23/lghome3-theme-download/
I apologize in advance for my ignorance, but what exactly is the LGhome3 and what will change if I use one of the one's that where linked above me? I see there is LGhome.JB4.apk and some others. I think i have an idea what LGhome3 is, but i guess im not exactly sure. Lol. Thanks in advance.

LGHome3 is the version of the LGHome Launcher that as far as I know, LG make it for ICS and partially upgraded with the 4.1.2 upgrade (It just add some wallpapers and some basic changes to the widgets). The LGHome.JB4.apk that you saw was a port from somebody in the community to make it available for 4.2 since the other versions FC and wouldn't work properly. Currently that port works partially and for 4.2 and FC when you try some things.
You can also see another version of the LGHome in the market called Simple Home by LGElectronics ( http://goo.gl/7eAVz ) and I think it was the version 2 since it doesn't have an app drawer, don't came with the widgets and it's compatible with Froyo 2.2.
About the themes you were looking for, LGHome has themes since version 2. Some carriers like AT&T block all the themes (I don't know why!) or only left 1 or 2 in their deploy, but they could be found at the Korean and Japanese ROMs.
Looking for a LGHome port to 4.2 I found some themes that work at http://goo.gl/bjjjr
Also found this other page where there's a link to download 10 themes for the LGHome at http://goo.gl/mKeIm
Please take note that to those themes to work properly they have to be installed in the /System/App folder (Need root access) and not in the /Data/App folder where the apps normally install when you use the installation wizard opening the apk directly. The links I provided previously have a very good tutorial of how to install them in a way that they work.
Anyway, LGHome is a very good launcher but if you are looking for another experience about themes and changing the appearance try another launchers like Nova and Apex that will give you a very Nexus 4 feeling and are very good saving battery life. Also you can use Go Launcher that have a lot of free themes. Or if you want to make huge changes or get very different experience check buzz launcher or MiHome that have some really good themes and some crazy stuff.
Go out there and try them all and every time you want to try something different, have more than 1 working launcher installed just in case and make backup of everything you overwrite in case you damage something.
Good luck.
^^ wow. That was one of the best replies I've gotten on here! Excellent! Thank you very much for the great information. That was above and beyond helpful. Thanks again. Cheers

I have been running Buzz laucher for some time now and just recently got a beta code to use Themer. My question would be what are the differences? So far I feel they are quite similar with the exception of Buzz having more features because it has been around longer.
Thoughts?
I dunno but if you wanna give up that code, let me know! I'll take it!

One major difference that I found out was that Buzz launcher consumes over 100MB Memory(without any widget) and Themer takes about 40-50MB even on high end theme ...
Also even in Beta stage Themer is much smoother than Buzz (transition animations).
So I guess Themer has better memory management .
Also Themer will have more Quality and Detailed Theme Gallery than Buzz (Because there are many Themers who have their themes on MyColorScreen also unlike Buzz the Theme is validated before it gets published in the Themer themes Browser)...
u dont need to download any external app like UCCW/zooper etc etc
At a first glance, I asked myself the same question... they are very similar in form and function... But I was looking for the 'widget everything' option and looks promising.
I have a question. I've modified a theme I'm using now, if I switch to another theme then go back will the original theme I modified will it be the way I left it?

Export your current theme before changing to other theme. You can get it back at Themer > My Themes > Exported.
Differences are:
1) Our themes are 100% curated. Only the best get in.
2) Themer is true one-click. User doesn't have to do anything to make the theme look just the way the designer intended.

^^ This - 1 click is literally all it takes. No further setting up of widgets is required, unless of course you want to edit the theme.
Also, with the simplicity of themer, I strongly believe that it will gain a massive community behind it once it's generally released. Plus, there's a dedicated forum on our favourite mobile development site too
What's not to like!

I see the benefits. I guess there are a few features I miss over buzz that I would like to see added.
1) Infinite scrolling of both home screens and app drawer
2) scroll transitions (more fun than fictional)
3) a less intrusive menu button capture
I also think it would be great to have an option to retain the AOSP like play store icon in the top corner of the app drawer.
Edit: One more thing I would like to see is the ability to use the theme based icons as folders or standalone app icons via the long press>edit option
Until Themer can handle my Nexus 4 in full screen mode I will be using Buzz for my themes (although I recognize that Themer has better themes etc etc).
I have been using Samsung Galaxy since S1 until S5, hated touchwiz, too iPhony
Replaced all Samsung apps with 3rd party, nicer looking, more features, whatever...
LG launcher does most of what GO launcher EX, without pushing updates and ads all the time, contacts and SMS are poor, but do what I need, only need a dark background, white looks very washed out and uses more battery
I just got my V10 yesterday, didnt have time to test, much, please help me with your experience, thanks :good:
Also, I have been using the same font forever, does anyone know how I can add it to the V10 fonts
Thanks :good:
I was using this app to invert some stuff: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lovejoy777.rroandlayersmanager
In the app, look for Inverted UI. It doesn't invert everything tho.
Also if you unlock the boot loader you could look at the No Name ROM IN the dev. section, it has a Nightshade theme which I think is very thorough. I haven't tried that tho.
Come to think of it, I think Layers required root..

At last managed to get Smartworld to work, had to delete my account and create a new one with country Taiwan
The home themes only change icons and wallpaper, I found a nice keyboard theme :good:
