Anyone familiar with REAL STATUS BAR ICONS? - Galaxy Note II Themes and Apps

I love these Pictures when my notifications come in as it makes all notifications look better imo. I liked when I got a gmail, the gmail icon would be in the notification bar. But, since the gmail app was updated I now get the stock email notification when a gmail comes in Can anyone lend me a hand and tell me what needs to be done to get the gmail notification icon back in the top left of the status bar after updating the gmail app. ?
Here is the zip download to have these beautiful icons below...

[Q] Change statusbar icon for exchange email

I'm trying to change the color of the corporate email notification in statusbar i have looked everywhere in framework/systemui blur-res bluremail everywhere that says email or activesync i see icons that look exactly like it but when i add color to them it still shows up grey when emial comes in in statusbar, anyone know where that stupid little icon is?

[Q] Gmail icon

how come the gmail icon does not show numbers like the message icon or the mail icon?
It's not an active icon... But you can search the market for an active Gmail widget.
There is an app that will do this, I think its called Gmail Unread Count, or something like that.

Gmail unread notification

I like the Asus main unread widget. But is there something similar that will talk to Gmail?
something similar? i dont think so...not something that LOOKS like the asus one.
however, there are a couple things you can do.
i know for a face APEX launcher Pro has the option to put an "iOS" style unread bubble on the gmail icon on you home screen.
then there is the stock gmail widget which gives you an unread count in the upper right hand corner. doesn't look as clean as the asus widget, but it is a very functional widget.

Hide a Notification Icon without Hiding the Actual Notification

Does anyone know if it's possible to hide just the notification icon without hiding the notification itself from pulldown?
Use case: Yahoo Weather app, the persistent notification in the pulldown is beautiful. I want it to always be there. However, the little temperature notification icon is pretty ugly, and I want to hide/disable it.
Using JB's "disable notifications" won't work since it will disable the entire notification, not just the icon.
Any ideas?
Maybe decompile systemui.apk or farmework-res.apk or where the icon is and turn it into a blank icon as in matches the background of status bar?
Or try to decompile Google now and dig through some xml files to figure out how they do it.
Off hand I can't say I've ever tried and don't have a great answer but may give you a start

app notification icons

Howdy all! I use a (slightly) modded Yahoo mail app on my HTC M8 (Android 5.0.1).
In the past, I would be able to insert my own notification icons into the apk, sign it, install it, and it's good to go.
I just updated to the latest version of Yahoo mail and made my notification png mods per usual.
Only when the mail icon shows up in the notification bar this time, it's the outline of my custom png, but completely whitewashed (I will post a screenshot later). I know it has to be part of the app theme settings to completely color the notification png white, I just don't know what to look for or where to look.
Suggestions?
No one has any ideas?
