Hope everyone doesn't already know this but I just added .Bak to my boot animation to see if I could speed up boot time and much to my surprise I got the simmering android logo instead of no boot animation. BTW I'm on the latest base ROM. I trying to speed it up because I got in a reboot to ready war with my buddies note 2 and lost

Thanks for the tip. How quick does that Note II boot, though? My OG boots to ready in about 8.5 seconds.

... A reboot war? Is it really that big of a deal to have the fastest rebooting phone? People these days..
LOL no one likes losing!
Wasn't really a big deal but like the previous post said, I nobody likes losing. And i timed mine at like 29 seconds. That's a reboot though. The note was roughly 8-10 seconds quicker.

When are you timing from? As soon as you hit "reboot phone"?
FYI...Locked bootloader? Don't do this..
Yes, timing from hitting the button

But yea if you watch the some of the senastion reviews the phone boots very quickly(i want to say around 15 seconds) so there's no doubt that the evo 3d will also boot quickly

I have been getting allot of random reboots, not while actually using the device but when it is just sitting there, on charger and off anyone have any experience with this?
Are these full reboots, with the LG and AT&T boot animations, or is it just the UI reloading? I havent ran into this at all on this phone. However, i have had an issue with the UI reloading with every Samsung device Ive ever had. Not sure what causes it or if your experiencing the same thing.
They are full reboots I normally catch it on the LG logo,I guess if no one else has come across it I'll go swap the phone out for another. Though my LG g2x had reboots till we had custom roms....

I went and exchanged my phone today for another, so we will see if that helps it. I am not sure though because I had a LG G2X and it had random reboots as well, it was only fixed with custom roms and kernels later so assuming we get unlocked bootloaders I am sure that will be fixed but till then I am not sure if I am going to keep this phone or not....

Your talking about "redraws" it has to do with the launcher (TouchWiz) or in some cases, RAM.

Where as I do not use the stock launcher, I use NOVA and well we have 2 gigs of ram... Plus mine have certainly been full reboots and the G2x did this same thing... we need to just hope for am unlockedbootloader.
I have had 1 random reboot so far. Hope it doesn't happen again.

I haven't seen any on my device. 11 days. Stock launcher.
All stock since Nov. 2nd. Zero reboots.
I returned my device for another, haven't seen a reboot so far.

I've had reboots as well. Around 4 times now and purchased the phone nov. 3. a couple times it was when the phone is just sitting there on stand by. one time it was while posting a picture on instagram. Another was taking a picture and looking at the photos... and when it does re start, it will restart 2 or 3 times at a time, like i see the lg logo 3 times, then finally the "rethink possible" logo, then the phone boots up and while or just after my media scanning of my sdcard finishes, it will automatically restart again... and this happens 2 or 3 times. for some reason I feel like it has something to do with me 64gb sd card but am not sure, i used to think it had something to do with eco mode but phone has restarted while it wasnt activated too... dunno how to fix, hopefully an update will come for a fix :/

Same here. Must have been a hardware thing.

I'm going to have to send mine in for warranty too, put a reboot logger on it and it's around 4-5 times per day. I should probably unroot it before I send it in I guess.
Always fun to see everyone's up time. Didn't see a thread on it so I figured I would start. If there is already a thread like this, let me know and I'll have this one closed.
To find up time. System settings > about phone > status
My up time:
Ha, this is interesting. I assume this resets when installing roms...

I have to reboot a lot with what I do so there isn't much reason to mention it. But anyway,

Anyone else's s4 ever done this? It just did it and that's maybe the 3rd time it's happened. I'm completely sock and running nova launcher prime.
Hmm apparently I got some screen mirroring update? No idea what that is.

lol #3??? What on earth are you doing to these poor S4's
I'm not doing anything to them. Each one I've had has had some sort of issue.
But it's only rebooted a few times since I've had it. It's very rare so I'm not that annoyed.
Mine has done it a couple of times as well. Usually when I'm using it pretty intensely. I figure I just overload it, and it causes it to reboot. Now its got an issue of sometimes freezing on the Verizon logo at boot. Have to pull the battery to get it to boot when this happens.

Mine has done this too. Also I have had trouble in the middle of a call getting a crazy echo and jarble. This my second one having both these problems;(

Can someone please get this working? I have spent hours trying to get the white flickers to stop. I even added 15 frames. Its a badass boot animation if anyone can fix it. Thanks!

Yeah, thanks man, you definitely got the flickering to stop. It starts off fine then it just stops. Why is this boot ani such a pain?
