Hello Everyone,
I need some help, I updated to JellyBean but now I have no data connection! I am not rooted, I have tried restarting my phone, turning airplane mode on and off, nothing seems to work. It seems nobody else is having this problem, is something in my settings wrong?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
I am having the similar issue. After updating, WI-FI stopped working, but I am able to get on the internet through the 3G connection.

Try playing with the Sprint Connection Optimization, and playing with the Power Save setting. Also, do generic reboot process.
so i had the same problem not being able to use my wifi at home but the 3g worked fine. before the update, my wifi worked so i knew it wasnt my wifi. i even tried to forget the network and enter my password again to reconnect. that didnt work either, i knew it probably had something to do with that sprint optimizer because it asked me to confirm something or another. i just got fed up and did a factory reset. that did it, still wondering what exactly caused the problem with the wifi...

I'm not 100% certain this is what fixed it for me, but I went into "Settings | Wi-Fi | Menu | Advanced | Wi-Fi frequency band" and toggled the settings, and all has been well since.
to fix the wifi issue with the JB ota: settings/wifi/menu/advanced/uncheck DLNA auto-ip. enjoy
damn, wish i knew this before resetting my phone

Im not too sure what may have happened. I rooted my tbolt using the newest method (script one click root method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1009969 )
I cant get 3g service, but everything else seems to work great. I only have basic cellular service.
Any ideas? Thanks!
I'm about to start a thread on this, but try this, it works for me: I HAVE to turn my wifi off to get 3g/4g data. If I leave wifi on, I only get cell service, no data.
Data works for me when wifi is on. Is it doing this when you are connected with wifi?
I've read that a factory reset fixes the issue. I had this issue out of the box, read somewhere to factory reset...bingo 3G back
I just wanted to say the threat title was so misleading...I was wondering how you were getting 3D in the first place lol...
but yeah i've heard all kinds of things, from battery pulls to having to unroot etc to fix these issues.
I tried battery pull, I tried factory reset via clockwork and the standard way - i now have 1x but not 3g - so weird. Any other suggestions or links to follow a solution?
Thanks!

didn't fix mine.
I had been able to put phone in "airplane" mode, reboot and get wifi to work. now that doesn't seem to be working...
Really irritating when I am overseas and not going to be back on a us network anytime soon... I was reading on the motorola forum, when it was working, that the issue may have something to do with the phone not registering with the correct network... IDK the validity of that though.
I had the same issues before. It is related to sprint software. The best way is to have the phone rooted and then use titanium backup to freeze an app called sprintomaden or since you are using gsm you can delete all sprint related software in system/app. I am sure you will have no further problem.

I am having a peculiar issue. My Wi-Fi drops out and then reconnects every 30-45 minutes or so. I have the latest version of the ROM, flashed the boot.img in the thread, but it still doesn't fix my issue. It doesn't matter how far I am away from the signal, it just drops out temporarily, and then reconnects. I can't explain it. Other than that, it seems to be working great, but before I rooted and flashed, I never had any issues of any kind with the WiFi.
Also, it may be worth noting that I don't know for sure yet, but it may also turn on the WiFi automatically even though I have it set not to. Sometimes when I am out and about, I'll get a popup saying that WiFi networks were found nearby, do you want to connect etc...
Any help will be appreciated, I love this ROM and can't see myself going back on stock but this is a pretty cumbersome issue...
Re: WiFi Issue On Venom
Have you tried it out on other routers?
And fir the asking to join networks, there is a setting in wifi>advance for that.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
About the only thing that I haven't tried is another router, but the other devices on the network don't seem to be having any issues. Then again, it is an Airport, so...Yeah, I won't fully know until I get a chance to test it elsewhere...
But I know about the advanced setting and have it disabled. That's why I'm wondering it its something in the ROM or something that I did wrong that it keeps trying to come come back. My guess is that it's disconnecting the mobile network and resetting it, just as it is doing on the WiFi...
Update
Just in case someone else runs into this issue, the problem was with an app that I used to change my host name. It would intermittently interrupt my connection trying to do that. I uninstalled it and edited my build.prop file the old fashioned way. The issue didn't have anything to do with Venom, just the fact that I had rooted and tried new things.
Thanks for your help!
This was the app that caused the issue: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tiranodroid.change.hostname

Can you please go to the advanced editing options and change the name of your thread and place "Fixed" in there so people can reference it, if need, and what app it was. Thanks.
I've only owned my Omate Truesmart for one day and the WiFi decided to give it up. I turned the wifi off once today and as soon as I tried to turn the WiFi back on it would not work. Whenever I touch the button to activate WiFi it lights up blue for a second and it then stops. Tried it several times today and nothing different. When I try to get into the wifi settings from the "Wireless & Networks" I'm greeted by a blank screen too.
So far I'm considering if it's a software issue I might try to return it to the stock firmware with this guide. However I'm waiting until I get some input from other people. I don't have cellular data access because I don't have a sim card in it. Any help is appreciated.
So what not stock firmware are you running? BTW both BT and wifi hang on stock firmware. You need to disable quickboot and reboot.
Question. What is wrong with my flashing guide so I can fix it.
Oh nothing wrong with the guide. I haven't used it yet. I'm on the stock firmware. How do I disable the quickboot?

I got my Omate today and am having trouble with Wifi. If I turn wifi on it crashes the phone and cuaes it to completely power off. It will run for as long as I like with airplane mode on and will not crash if I turn bluetooth on. I found this suggestion and turned quickboot off and rebooted. Still the same behavior with wifi. Has anyone else reported this? Any suggestions?
I'm running firmware 20140120
I have a weak wifi signal on my Omate. Unless I'm right next to the router I can't pick up a wifi signal with the watch. Is there anything that I can do about this?
Sounds like the wifi antenna connector came lose. Contact Omate and get it replaced. The only other option is to disassemble it and reseat the connector.
Hey fellow XDA members!
Ever since I got the One UI 5.1 update my S7 plus 256GB keeps losing Wi-Fi. It happens about once a day and the only way to get it working again is by doing a restart.
What happens:
After losing my connection the Wi-Fi networks are not visible so toggling Wi-Fi on and off or airplane mode does nothing. Only a restart fixes it.
I did a factory reset and the issue still persists.
I've looked online but found no solution other than it potentially being a Wi-Fi 6 issue.
Anyone here had or has that issue? Any fixes?
Thanks in advance.

I suggest downgrading and checking. Are you rooted? Maybe try reflashing 5.1?

No, I'm not rooted but at this point I might go that route since I'm out of warranty. Thanks for the advice.
Ever since I updated to android 12 I been having wifi 5ghz not connect in a certain room when before it did fine. It only stays connected to it now if I leave the room and make sure it connects then re enter the room and it stays. (bars are like full to)
