[Q] Keeps crashing can't acces - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I can't acces my device in any way. I tried hard reset in every way. When I start up the device it's in the lockscreen where I can change my default language. But there keep popping up windows with "The process ... has been stopped". And when I click okay it just goes to the next application. And it just keeps going like that. I really don't know what to do.
I already removed the battery several times, but it just keeps doing the same... :S
I rooted my device a few days ago and the only thing I changed was the MOD to turn up the volume. After a few days certain apps keeped crashing when I tried to launch them. This morning every app crashed and now my whole phone is tripping.
Anyone can help me out? Would be very grateful!!!
Thanks in advance!!

Yes did a factory reset by holding the volume down + home button + power button. Then the phones gets in the download screen for rooting. After that the whole thing begins again. At the lockscreen it starts crashing all apps.

go into recovery - vol up + home + power.
wipe cache and dalvik (in advanced) and reboot.
if that doesn't work, wipe data/factory reset in recovery - this will wipe your phone - apps you've downloaded etc...

Above fails then as usual flash a stock rom .

Didn't work, did both things, but had no effect at all. Just reset the language again at the phone, but still kept crashing everything.

Had to figure out what you meant by this answer but after doing little research I finally found out how. And it worked!!! It actually put back the default Jellybean software. And everything is working fine again!! Really, thanks a lot. I almost decided to sent back my device to the shop for it's warranty. No need for that now!! Can't describe how grateful I am! xD
In case somebody finds this thread and has the same problem. This is what I did:
- Download the right stock firmware at: sammobile.com
- Then follow this tutorial: androidromupdate.com/2012/06/05/how-to-install-stock-rom-on-samsung-galaxy-s3-s-iii-gt-i9300
Anyways, thanks a lot!

Stuck with no clue what to do, please help!

Hi Everyone,
This is my story:
I woke up today to my phone being off. Thinking it was battery, I got my spare and replaced it. Turned on the phone and saw the:
"Samsung
Galaxy S III
GT-I9300"
This logo kept on appearing, then disappearing; appearing then disappearing. It is still doing that and I can not get past it. I have tried clearing Dalvik Cache (yes I can access recovery mode). I have tried using Odin to flash stock firmware to it (it showed a "PASS"), and still nothing works. I am at the end of my wits with this phone. Based on what I know, my options are:
1) Wipe/Reset Factory data
2) Take it to a repair shop bcz of a hardware malfunction (no warranty)
3) Throw it in the bin
Any other options that might get me into the phone to get my information?
Just so you guys know, this phone was rooted a couple months back. The only reason I rooted it was to use Titanium Backup. Needless to say, I wasn't messing around with it when this happened. Please advise!
Use Google or search on XDA next time!
Looks to me like you have SDS!

factory reset should've been the first thing you did after the cache. that's your solution. it's not sudden death, just do a factory reset

Can you enter recovery? Or it's just DL mode?
I can enter recovery and DL mode. For the record, I just did a wipe data factory reset and it's still doing the same thing. Any suggestions now?
If you can get into download mode then try flashing stock Rom with Odin, if it doesn't boot up, go to recovery and do factory reset.....

Thank you. But I already did both of your suggestions and they didn't work.
Read the sudden death syndrome thread .
Take phone to Samsung service .

S3 Random Crashing to Unknown Upload Mode

Hi,
My S3 has been randomly crashing and showing "Unknown Upload Mode" and a lot of nonsence on the screen. It seems any app usage causes this. I went to the Samsung Service Centre and he reflashed the phone and I lost all data but it crashed again twice. Its working for the last 45 mins but is there some way I can fix this without sending the phone in for 10 days?
Thanks
Sean
Does no one have any idea???
screenshots please...
Well now with factory reset it worked for about 24 hours then began to crash again. Now its stuck on the GT I-9300 logo and keeps restarting. I went android menu ( Pressed volume button up + home button + power button together to reach menu where you can clear cache and reset phone to factory settings) and wiped out cache and its seems to have worked for 45 mins. I'm sending it in for repair but is there anything I can do.. Plz so many ppl have seen this but no solution from anyone?? I don't want to lose phone....
might be SDS. send it back and claim for a new one if you have warranty.

please let me know if i'm wrong and CLICK thanks if i help

The thing is they're saying that they will repair it and refuse to send me a replacement.. Its working ok now..Its seems something's wrong with the cache.. Is there some way to deep clean the cache? Its been working ok now after cleaning it...
Probably best to backup data and then factory reset .

Done that already and then cleared cache yesterday.. Then also did a emergency firmware upgrade on Kies which in effect did a factory reset... Still happened today.
It seems to be working for now...

The other mode is called recovery mode.
The factory reset will wipe your data - although most will be probably backed up and restored later.
Try that, if it doesn't work, flash with the download mode.

Did wiping from recovery mode not help? try that before trying odin, it's much safer.
Also, please follow all the instructions when dealing with odin, misuse can hard brick your device and turn it into 600$ useless paperweight.
no i just relfahsed with odin , and it restarted it then said re installing 0/200 apps like it started up first time then it restarted and now its back in a reboot loop

Weird, seems like a problem with one of the apps (?) since it was reinstalling them, factory reset from the recovery menu and see if that makes the difference now that you flashed with Odin.
If not please report back.
PS: wipe dalvick cache under advanced in recovery.
it wasn't reinstalling them. it was optimizing them because the cache was cleared. you need to factory reset. factory reset from stock recovery will also wipe the internal sd though
i am not rooted so dont have access to clr dalvik cache
flashuing stock rom with odin didnt work .
factory reset worked !!
lost all my torrents and stuff on sd card . teach me to back up now
thank u

Hi you would never guess what. It happened again. I restored all google apps say 100. Then I was using SMS back and restore to restore about 16k texts . I have lost about two months since the last back so my phone had handled more txtx s then 17k texts
Then it was stuck on solid blue led and glowing samsung logo again . So I just factory restored and now it's ok again ,but now I lost all my stuff again having stayed up until. 4am in the morning rode loading and re installing all apps
Seems like something is hitting all the cache causing the phone to semi brick ? Could it be a bad cache ? So when the phone writes to that caches it bricks it?

No idea, is everything fine now?
Is your problem resolved?
Not really
I just been googgling , is this what they call sudden death?
I did call up samsung service centre and my phone is still under its two year warranty so I got time to take it back.
He did seem helpful but issue is I have fixed it by wipe and factory reset so problem is now not present so not much he can do
The service centre did say if they can not find or repeat the fault then they can't do anything and would send same phone back. Having come from iPhone , it seems the service is not as good . When I had problems with my iPhone they just swapped it out after they plugged it into some machine.
It's been ok today. Though, it's restored all the same apps I had and it hasn't bricked itself yet thank god
I am using app back up and restore and it's sayings I got 290 apps lol
17k of text messages, that maybe the problem..

[Q] Can't factory reset Galaxy Tab 2

I have a samsung galaxy tab 2 GTP3100. today it suddenly started to restart in every few minutes.
I tried to uninstall lastly installed app, but the device restarted every time I tried to do something with it. Then i tried to reset it from the settings>>backup & Restore. but no gain. the device was as it was before.
then i tried with system recovery mode. it opened with an error message
did not match sized 'system/csc/common/system/csc/default_workplace.xml' (No data found)
despite tht I performed "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition"
it said to have completed the above operation, no further error message. I rebooted the system... but no gain.. same as before.. not a single change. and the "restarting problem" was ther.
Could anyone please help me?
thank you in advance

Thanks for your reply.
I have tried with ODIN. even the local service station guy couldn't fix it.
In download mode, it took forever but to download the package.
could it be any Hardware problem? I don't think so. because I can play movies and music before it restarts again.

I'm not sure what is relevant about the time it took to download the file...?
What happened while installing the firmware via Odin? Did it finish? Did it have errors?
Next option would be to try to install a custom recovery and use that to reset the phone or install a custom rom.

As per the Senior Member has described, it is the best way to resent the tab. But as you are not able to administer the odin, I will suggest you to get your mobile reset from the Service centre in your locality. By default, to reset the tab you have to press the volume down button and then gently press the menu button. It will show the option of wipe.
As you are saying that it is not working, I think service centre is the best option.

rudrapratap03, thanks for your reply
I would like to tell you that i went to the service station, the technician also failed to reset the device in Odin mode. and suggested me to change the board. I don't think there would be any hardware problem as I could use the device to play music and videos, before it restarts itself again. I could read books for hour (if i do the reading only).
What are you clueless on? Whether or not you downloaded the file? I'm not sure how that part is confusing. Or are you talking about that you put it in Download Mode and then Odin didn't do anything? If that is the case, then without telling us what Odin was doing or what the log said, then how do you expect anyone to be able to help troubleshoot?

[Q] HELP! My SGS3 is rebooting endlessly, bootloop? :(

So my phone is having a problem, not sure if it is a bootloop or what Whenever my I tried to reboot my phone, it'll show my desktop for about 2-3 seconds then it reboots again and again. I have to removed my battery for about 30 minutes then put it back on and if im lucky, it'll boot successfully. Then when I play COC or used FB with my data network, it suddenly reboots, so another endless boot
I'm out of idea what to do, so please help me Here are the things I've tried:
1. Flashed stock rom from sam mobile through Odin
2. Factory reset in stock rom
3. Delete cache/dalvik and factory reset in stock recovery
4. Factory reset in TWRP (latest version) & advance wipe including my internal SD
5. Flash stock rom using KIES
But still no chance of getting out of this rebooting issue Is my phone damaged cause of too much flashing? Is the "FORMAT" option under the "WIPE" section in TWRP safe? and what will happen if I format?
thanks!
I have seen many posts like yours before and I don't think this is a software issue ( especially after you have flashed stock rom) It looks like your power button keeps getting stuck I recommend replacing it.

Agreed, flashing stock should solve it but seeing as it hasn't..
It seems on the power rail if you apply common sense, power button or battery failing would be my first 2.

I've had this issue on my S3 and it turned out to be the push button was stuck. You could try tapping the button against the desk to see if it can "loosen" up the button for you

hey guys. I don't think it was the power button? because after a few minutes I removed my battery and put it back on, it boots successfully. One more thing, my phones LED is replace on a samsung care center a month ago, so most of the hardware are brandnew including the power button.
Have you guys ever tried the "FORMAT" option in the TWRP? Hoping it would solve my problem

Its quite easy to solve do a megawipe >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/tool-mega-wipesuper-wipefactory-t1832326 << this will wipe/format everything that could cause a software issue (Make sure you have a rom on ext SD because It deletes the Data, Cache, System and Preload partitions of your internal memory BE WARNED!) If that does not work then change battery if that fails to work it is hardware issue (maybe power button was not put back correctly or other hardware issue) But to be honest this is looking more and more like a hardware issue.:crying:

hey guys! One more observation, whenever my phone boots up successfully, it is working just fine. I can update the apps in the new rom through Play store. But when the apps requested permission for Google play services and I tap on it, it automatically reboots my phone. When I tried to login to my FB account using the apps in the playstore, it happen the same thing. On the other hand, when I use the stock browser, nothing seems to have a problem.
So, what's with the google play services?
