Hey guys. I went trough a lot Q & A threads (mostly in the optimus 3d and htc evo territory) seeking for a 3d movie player for my TF700 without any success. You can see many network media player boxes based on android like IconBit or Popcorn Hour. Most of them have 3d SBS and the IconBit xds1003d even Real 3D. My question is, wouldn't it be possible to run those "apps" on smartphone/tablets based on android? Its kind of stupid that there is no 3d video player which is able to play at least 720p SBS mkv files, only 3d youtube videos.
looking for a 3d video player since 3 months now but no success i think no one want to develop such an application for android
Count me in for this request

Youtube videos on the Hero open in the HTC flash player, which would be fine if it weren't for the crappy quality, choppy video and distorted colours. On my G1 I was able to open youtube videos in the Youtube application, which is of a considerably higher quality. Is there a way to do this on the Hero
Sorry if this question has been asked, I did a search both on the Forum and on Google but I was unable to come across an answer.
Thanks
I have the very same question. I've been searching the forum and the web without success so far. Anyone?
It is built into the Modaco ROMs. I'd suggest either installing one, or downloading one and seeing if you extract and install the APK.
Regards,
Dave
Which APK? The official ROM already has the youtube app, I just want it to be launched when I click on a youtube video within the browser...
Any other way without changing ROMs?
I'm still looking for a way to do it without switching ROMs, too. If anyone has any ideas please let us know
I would (also) like to know how/if it can be done.
Currently, when I need to play a link in the YouTube app, I copy/paste and load the page in the Steel browser. Steel will let me choose to either use the HTC Flash Player or the YouTube app.
I would have liked the HTC people to at least leave the option with the users...

I purchased the digital version of Alice In Wonderland. It does play on the HD2 with Windows Media Player. When I tap menu, then full screen, the movie plays in landscape, but does not fill the entire screen. There is black on all 4 sides of the picture. I looked in options, and there is a check mark in the box for "scale to fit window".
Is anyone else having this problem? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
I did search for an answer but found nothing. Why isn't my movie filling the entire screen?
Same Problem
Okay I'm finally getting back to my same old problem. No one responded before so here are more details.
Searches tell me that the HD2 will play wmv right out of the box. That's true if you use Windows Media Player. I can't get HTC Sense to even find my wmv file when I point the album right at the correct folder!
So I play the wmv with Windows Media Player and it won't go full screen.
Is anyone else having this problem? What's going on?
mmm every one knows windows media play is ****...try core player or TCMPC players their the best for watching video files
Thank You

Thanks for the reply. I've seen coreplayer recommended but there is no trial version to see if it will take this wmv to full screen. I'll look at TCMPC. Do you happen to know if either of them play videos full screen on the HD2?
I finally blew off the digital version that came with the DVD. I took the DVD and ripped it to a mp4 using DVDFab7. I have no idea if I've selected the ideal settings but it worked. I can play Alice full screen using the HTC Album.
trial version to see? yes it plays full screen..
1st rule google.com
2nd Search
3rd rule trial and error
3rd ur wasting my time and others time by posting this instead of actually reading descriptions and searching around!
hence why u had no replys
Wow, I cant help in anyway here, but I think the response given is totally uncalled for...
Of course I searched!

Of course I want a trial version to test it out. I could waste a lot of money buying every single app I want to try. I did search around and saw posts here and on other sites that said coreplayer doesn't have full screen acceleration.
I always search, I'm not new to xda.
Thank you Gstq10000, for your reply.
well for ppl who want things to happen things happen...soz i found a trial version of core before i bought cause i actually googled it...
it would be one less worthless thread on xda if ppl read the rules and used google and xda search
To the OP: What it sounds like you're experiencing is a resolution conflict. I've recently been experiencing this as well, and the "quick fix" solution was to reduce my display resolution when watching one of those videos. While I have little doubt that it has to do with the codec used to encode the video, I don't have a solid explanation for why it is that some videos have a maximum resolution after which they simply refuse to fit to the screen whereas other videos of similar resolution are all too happy to scale to fit even if it means enlarging the pixels so the video will fill the screen.
Perhaps a more knowledgeable traveler could shed some light on why this occurs if not also on a more permanent practical solution.
**Edit** I apologize for the necromancy. I failed to check the last post date before submitting this reply.
I have no idea where to find Vibrant compatable movies for my phone. (newb)...please help?
You don't download them, you convert movies you already own to work on the vibrant. I personally use AVS Video Converter 6.4 to convert my movies, remember the quality is only going to be as good as the source file. I can post the settings I use if you want.
like said above, you can put any video you want, this may be a short video from youtube or a full movie you own and the quality will vary from the original video to the compression or settings you use. if you bring down a DVD from 4gb to 200mb, of course it will look like crap. there is a way to download movies, but I think those links can not be posted as they are ilegal (torrents) so google would be your best friend
In the sticky there is a great thread that teaches how to use handbrake which is a free program for your pc. It is amazing in my opinion.
Samsung is suppose to launch their "Media Hub" service pretty soon. Supposedly you can purchase or rent full blown hollywood movies using your phone. It is coming to all the Galaxy S family of phones through an app.
Also the Netflix app is coming along nicely I hear...
I hope it comes by the time Samsung Galaxy tablet is announced - I'm jump in it
Ummm I download HD (720p) movies all the time. What is this "You don't download em" nonsense.
Either way, its against forum rules to discuss warez.
The end.
Re:
I use dvdfab to convert my dvds and keepvid.com fr youtube videos they play perfectly!
I use formatfactory.
Formatoz dot com
Just a heads-up - I've heard a recent complaint of a toolbar install so make sure you check the right box.I'm using an older version myself and don't remember anything of the sort. Have fun with it!

Hey guys (and gals),
Real quick question. I am running a Hero 2.2 Vanilla and am having difficulty finding a video app (native or otherwise ...doubletwist) that will play videos in rotation. To clarify, I am a fan of music videos and have several on my phone but the player will not cycle from one to the next on the list automatically like it does with music. I have to choose the next vid manually. I know the iphone (grrr) and my ps3 have this capability and was wondering if you might have some ideas.
Thanks,
~Jill~
Moved to Q&A as not development
OK, thanks Pulser. Sorry for the misplace.
No worries. I don't use videos on my phone much, but what about yxflash or something like that?
UPDATE
---------------------------
Is there any dev out there that can take a look at this apk and rip out the network player and keep the local player only?
It is like 2 apps in 1, the network player has broken links to copyrighted material, but the local player is clean and possibly better than the built-in Evo 3D video player.
Admins, delete post if you believe that these kinds of questions are again the TOS. I would call it development and OK, but what do I know...

ORIGINAL POST
Saw this in the general forum, thanks to long d.
3DVplayer 2.01 can be found on Google, it plays videos in 3D on the EVO 3D and is said to support at least one new format, that the built in player does not, 3dv.
Tested so far:
EVO 3D vids shot with stock and amaze apps: OK
MP4 from gameloft intro: OK
It has a simple 2d to 3d conversion, puts the 2d vid deeper into the screen, very simple.
It has some sort of support for subtitles.
It also has a separate front end for some Chinese 3d clips, did not stream for me (europe).
Does not work at all, never starts or never logs in to the Chinese servers.
Hilarious Chinese to English interface...
As far as i can Google in Chinese, this is a YouTube 3d clone, with an added local player function.
Cannot find it on Market, but my stock EVO cannot look for Chinese apps anyways.

Sorry dude, I am close to getting banned for posting this, just found out that it has broken links to copyrighted material. Even if they are broken and I am trying to do the right thing, this is on the edge, or over it...

Running stock EVO 3d, the built in player supports a few 3d formats, 3dvplayer supports more formats. No idea how AOMUISPUIGUIFUJI is helped or affected by that fact.
Just tested an avi file that was in side-by-side 3D HD format.
Does not play in the built-in player.
Plays in 3dvplayer, but in side-by-side 2D format.
The 3D button does not turn on 3D mode and I did not find any other 3D button.
Yeah. Love the player. It was on market but can't find it anymore
I didn't have any luck on the market either but I found it with a Google search!
I use this player, but it cannot stream files from local resourses? such as laptops in my local wifi network it it could in future, this player become a real preasure for our pnones, it allows to view on phones streaming 3d videos of large file size, which impossible to place on sd card! Or, maybe, this player supports local network streaming and i had not found it?
