[Q] Flash Player - Samsung Galaxy 5 I5500

Hi, I'm fairly new to XDA and the Android Modding community.
I've been wondering, is there a Flash Player for this phone? I've done some searching and apparently it exists but all the links promising the apk files are dead, including the one thread I found using the search tool on this website.

Yes there is an flash player for this phone, you have to download rom manager from play store and then you have to open the app and go to download rom, then click scozza (its a developer) and scroll down until the end, there you should find adobe beta pack install or the one above.
Hope i helped you, good luck for trying

I've downloaded ROM Manager, ran it and went into the Download ROM section, but cant find scozza or anything flash player related in there.

Go to www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager and go to galaxy 5 and there you'll find scozza. Open his page and download flash player.
And playing around with ROM manager is totally not recommended. It can hard brick your device easily if something goes wrong. So be careful.

"Internal server error" when I try to open Scozza.
Will there ever be a time when people checked if their links arnt dead before posting them?

I've never heard of ROM Manager hard bricking a device... you can always reflash clockworkmod with odin...

But i've heard a lot of cases though. And ya, you can always reflash the recovery using odin i.e., if the phone boots.

It does crazy things especially when you have a slow network.

Search adobe on here and you will get your flash player, 2 days ago someone asked for it on this model of phone and it works just download the API and follow the instructions and DO NOT TOUCH ROM MANAGER unless you like expensive paper weights OK

Rom manager major problem!

Long story short: I soft bricked and went back to stock.
Rooted phone.
Then on rom manager I pressed flash clockwork.
Then selected vibrant. That's where the problem is.
It says error occured when downloading and that's it.
I'm stuck on stock how can I make this work or will it work if someone gives me their update.zip?
Also if that works can someone give me their update.zip?
This is the first time I've had this problem and I haven't heard any similar problems so that's why I'm asking.
Thanks in advance.
Delete update.zip, Uninstall/reinstall cwm and try again on wifi

Nope still same problem.
Look in one of the other threads for the zip file and flash like normal

It depends on which method you want to run. You can use the rootzwiki leak which is a tar file used in Odin. Or you can use dagr8's CWM flashable zip.
Let me know which one you want to use and I'll give you further directions. (Odin method would be easier for newbs)

If you know how to use CWM I'd recommend using that one. I believe if you flash the rootzwiki one you will lose root and CWM.

I have done a nandroid and when you say flash i guess you mean load the exe through odin, if so it comes back as failed all the time, do i have to try a diff com or something.

I would suggest maybe starting with the collective First flight ics it just has fewer steps at this point. What you want to do is download the rom to your sd card and follow the instructions on wiping.
If you need more help feel free to pm me.

Aio toolbox works the best. Anyway, don't go for passion, its an old and obsolete rom. Try iczen on the rootzwiki forum, ICS chimera, doc masters, remics, cm9, slim ics, or a jellybean ROM. If you wanna go jellybean, you need to go flash an ICS then the jb ROM or you will be bricked. For jellybean though, try the hellybean or slim bean ROMs.

Your right about passion, I personally like Schimera it's really nice and customizable. Although jellybean is the one that gave me a some-what soft brick. I made a post about it called SD card, yeah that was thanks to the jellybean rom I used. So until an actual stable jelly bean rom comes out I'm gonna try that. Also the passion one was running quite well except the GPS terribly sucked.

Sorry in advance but *sigh*. This is the 4th one in a week. The TMo 4g (SGH-T959V) is NOT the same as the Vibrant (SGH-T959) . You need to flash the correct pit and PDA files for your device. They Alsop have their own threads and forums. Just search and you will find them.

I agree. If you ever want a clean install, formatting system is one of the puzzle pieces to do so. Wiping system and data and caches is not the same as formatting them.
Anyone can download the toolbox from my signature. I have it permanently hosted there.

Most OPs should state this and my ICS install guide definitely states it. Btw those videos that show the ICS and JB installs are not all they are cracked up to be. There are edited and don't include "everything" to properly flash.

early this morning as i open my phone, i used to think that if i will transfer all files from my phone "system" in my 8g sd card it will be helpfull to lessen the burden of my processing ram that is 489mb available. I attemp to use root explorer to transfer the system files on my sd cards. i cut it in the root explorer option and paste it in my sd cards that is 8g. seconds passed it transfer files but as minute goes by it stock up and dont run anymore. i used to press the reboot system which is power botton + up volume and hold it in a couple of seconds. and then i stock in the system recovery and dont know what to do next. everytime i install some zip. files it is written that E: SIGNATURE VERIFICATION FAILED INSTALLATION ABORTED. thats the whole story. hope someone will help me to fix this issue.thanks for your time reading my message.

Sorry man! Your stock rom was collapsed.....i got the same situation(error signature) with my samsung galaxy tab. Then i came to know that it was soft bricked.
Then i kept my phone in download mode and flashed stock rom(available in official samsung site) through Odin software using my laptop. Then is worked like before
So now what you do is......
Open google..and search for "How to soft unbrick **your phone model** "
You may find something which is helpfull.

I didn't realise it wasn't a good idea to use ROM manager with the s3.. Why is that then? I went that way because my laptop is a Macbook and hiemdall didn't seem to work well so I had a quick ten mins on a laptop at work with Odin to root and then I only had my Macbook to use so ROM manager is the way I went too manager seems to be the same thing as well

From experience I can say that using ROM Manager can soft brick your device. I once wanted to use it with my old S2 to install CWM and I got into a bootloop afterwards. Only re-flashing a Samsung ROM via Odin helped to boot into Android.
One of the easiest way (in my opinion) to root your device is to flash a Kernel via Odin that will give you Root. The Siyah Kernel is a good place to start, since the developer also provides tar files for odin to flash. It will give you Root and from then on you can install Stweaks and flash CWM from there.
I wish i d of spoke to u a few months ago when I first rooted cause I buggered about with it for weeks! I didn't realise you could install recovery from steaks either.. Have you got much apple Mac/android sync experience?.. I can only describe it as trying to get arch rivals to mate!.. Might just dual boot windows on the Macbook if I can't get them to play nice
