How do we update busybox on are dx2's there are two apps I would like to use but they require busybox 1.20 and above

use v1.20
install with Jrummys
Cm7 I tried to update stock also liberty and eclipse every time I run the app jrummys it removes current cm7 1.19.4 then tells me 1.20 is incompatible then I have to nanodroid thanks for trying though:banghead:

I used v1.20
install with Jrummys
then I was able to install
1.20.2 with Stephens

which busybox comes with eclipse 2.3?
I must have used v6 starter kit (v1.19.4_wraithdu)
got a failed error for 1.20.1 and 1.20.2, but it didn't remove
I'll nano back and let u know and when I get home I'll try it thanks
Never was able to get jrummys to work but I was finally able to get Stephens to work thanks for your help

not sure what your problem is I installed cm7
and was able to update to v1.20, with no problems
No clue I had given up on it? this and the d2g give me problems apps not gaining su permission fully or intermittently
Probably would still be having problems if I wouldn't have asked for help finally got jrummys app to work by fixing permissions... I feel stupid now:what: maybe this will help someone else ?

i would ezSBF and root
reinstall cm7 rom zip
Actually I had done that recently...maybe that's why it worked?

Did u nandroid before flashing it?

If not....go to system/etc/init.d using root explorer(or.similar)
Mount as r/w
Then delete all those files...
Don't delete the init.d folder itself.
Just all the files in it that are from speedy script...I think its speedy main and some memory manage one

If u did nandroid...u could just restore ur nandroid....

Tried the new release from ace but it was 2.3.5 build. Sbf one more time and got back to 2.03 and just v6 supercharger. I think I am done messing around. Except for.the battery that sucks I love the performance. I even seen a performance drop on my benchmark 2011 scores when I put the unthrottle on. So just eclipse and v6 supercharger for now on.
I am using the AT&T version of the phone in India. My phone is sim unlocked and other than it is stock. What is the easiest and simplest way for me to enable hotspot. I'll prefer not to root.
I tried searing the forums but only found Mods for rooted phones.
I used to use pdanet befire i went custom rom. You need to download the PDAnet.apk, you can find it here, http://pdanet.co/ , and install to phone. If it gives you a data limit that is not enough for you, you can buy full version of foxfi from playstore. I would check in to see if anything changed though

I need some help. As in the title, I went dabbling in the root of my Galaxy S4's files and deleted it's stock texting application. I tried to reinstall it and it wouldn't. :crying: I'm a newb when it comes to rooting and modding and what not so any help is loved. I'm using a current 4.4.2 Galaxy S4 on Verizon. No custom ROMs or anything of that nature. It's pretty much stock. I don't want to reflash the stock firmware because I have some sentimental pictures of my girlfriend and me on there and I have apps for Chromecast and stuff like that. I can answer whatever you guys want. Please get back to me to get my stock messenger back on my phone. Hangouts and Textra won't cut it for me. I would love to use my Gear 2 with my phone to text, I can't now. So please help me, guys, the genuineness of XDA!! I beg you!

Get the odex download.
Open zip, go to system>priv-app. Get Secmms.APk & secmms.odex.
Go into root explorer on phone, to system>priv-app, copy.
Set permissions to both as
Rw-rxx-rxx. Reboot, should be good to go.

I really appreciate this. I can't wait to try it, except that's my only problem. My internet is so slow. I've downloading it for the past 4 hours almost and it still has 17 to go.
