Buying sola - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi all, I may buy the Xperia sola soon because it's very cheap bnib, 180€.
There are a few things I'd like to know before buying it, though..
1) Build quality
2) Out-of-the-box issues (had problems with the HTC One X.. ugh)
3) Screen quality
4) Camera quality (some examples would be nice)
5) Performance
6) Rootability
7) Add your own comment about the phone usage in everyday life (signal etc.)
Thanks!

As per the sticky thread in General, please post all questions here in Q&A.
Thanks

I have purchased this mobile 3 months ago and am quite satisfied with this..........
The over all build quality is great..... No problem yet with my piece........
Screen quality is also good enough for video playback and games, 720p videos plays very smooth........... One problem is that even if you turn off floating touch in settings you would even get some float touch response in games like temple run and xtreme trail....
Camera quality is also great with flash........
Overall performance is also good.....
In my opinion sound is bit low when on speakers..........
Easily rootable and bootloader can be unlocked easily using official method........
It gives me continuous video play back of around 4 hours approx..........
Many custom roms available..........

I guess you should buy an Xperia U.
I have had this phone for 2 months now and I am much more than satisfied.
The build quality is good enough for a bit of rough use and it has a good grip too. For custom roms, Xda is flowing. There is a rom which is only 76 mb and is running ICS.
Performance is spectacular because of the dual core processor. There is even a rom which over clocks this beast to 1.15 Ghz. Screen quality is good as it has high ppi. Camera quality is good, but I am disappointed by the fact that it collects a lot of noise at night. But I am still on GB. Who knows what surprises await for me in ICS? How is that for personal experience? Did I jump off the page? Did I dazzle you?
You decide. I suggest the Xperia U. Read around the forums, search Google, its an endless world. I did my part. Now, its up to you to decide. It was very long... Sorry to bore you (if you are). The keyboard is soo good that I can't stop myself. I suggest you buy the Xperia P if you are willing to spend more...

Not a prob for me as I intend to dev for this phone when i get it, and i never use official firmware anyway. Pretty sure ics/jb drivers are the same/similar so there shouldnt be any problems

Echoing all the naysayers. Don't get it. Horrible builds. Needs to be constantly reset in order to free up the ram. Issues with touch screens on charging.
etc etc etc.
Maybe I should just upgrade mine to CM9. It seems to be faster.
But stock rom, and those roms based on stock... Horrible. Just Horrible. Not the developers fault, but more of Sony for the poor build.

Just don't go for it there will be no jellybean

Sucks man.. Don't buy sola coz its ram is too damn low... And that might be the reason for no JB. Get something with atleast 1 gig ram on it... Sgs2 for example... It has stable CM 9,10 builds., good hardware and great for development

got the phone 3 days ago. disappointed by sony

Well, I have the One X as my main phone, plenty of power there, sola is a CHEAP phone (512 mb RAM is ok, I have the SGS1 and it runs JB just fine), I want to have it on the side as my 3rd phone to play around with and dev for a bit maybe.
So much negative comments..

Its hard to hear that sola supports end with ICS, coz Official roms makes you feel more stable,, but come on guys, we always try and stick with modified one, so if you want a phone for infinite updates, go and buy an expensive phone with more futures and support, otherwise, howcome you buy sola in first place?
The sola is more than okay compared to its price.

The problem with this phone is that it can't even do it's job as a phone properly =\
Check the general section. Lots of us have problems when calls arrive: It takes 10 seconds to switch to the caller screen to accept the call.
I've had some expectations for this phone. It's not a top tier phone, but this is quite disappointing. Looking to trade this in once my contract allows me to do so.
You can check out the general section of the forums. Lots of flame wars there regarding this phone (And Sony's phones in general). Yes, some people will love it to bits, no matter what, but I just can't when my previous phone with a quarter of the processing power was smoother and faster.

Worried Whether i should buy this phone or go with galaxy s2

Hi, please pardon my bad English.
I really like the looks of this phone, hardware on paper looks pretty good as well, but after reading few posts here on xda it looks like phone is very slow with lots of bugs and choppy UI, on top it seems ICS update has made it worst.
It has got me worried whether i should buy it or not. I can't afford to make mistake as i will be using this phone for next 2-3 years. Please help me figure out!
So, I have few questions please answer them.
Q.1 Is this phone really slow with choppy UI?
Q.2 Does this phone have any hardware related bugs? (I've heard menu, home and back keys are not so responsive.)
Q.3 How much ram is available to user? (After gpu etc. taking its share)
Q.4 How much space is available to user for installing apps?
Q.5 How's gaming on it?
Q 6 Is ICS update an improvement of deterioration.
Q.7 How's video playback? Does it play divx/xvid?
I'm really sorry for asking so many questions but it will certainly help me decide. Thank you very much for your time.

Don't worry, I was in the exact same position as you. I was torn between buying sony X S and S2.
Before I reply I must tell you that internet reviews/forum posts don't mean much. You have to go to a store and hold the actual working phone in your hand to get the real feel.
I really wanted to buy S2 because it was cheaper than SXS by about 4000 INR back in April. But once I held the Sony SXS in my hand and looked at the superb display, my mind was made up on buying SXS.
Q.1 Is this phone really slow with choppy UI?
Nope, I am running stock ICS 4.0.4 works perfect.
Q.2 Does this phone have any hardware related bugs? (I've heard menu, home and back keys are not so responsive.)
Again untrue. The menu keys etc are fine, once you get used to them they will never annoy you. But you really should go to a shop and see it for your self.
Q.3 How much ram is available to user? (After gpu etc. taking its share)
After installing about 50 or so apps plus keeping GPRS data on most of the time I have about 225-150MB ram available. But remember that this is not a windows OS, so you don't need free unused ram.
Q.4 How much space is available to user for installing apps?
more than 25GB on internal memory + ~2 GB on phone memory
Q.5 How's gaming on it?
I play riptide which has 3d graphics and can push the hardware to the limit, never had any problems.
Q 6 Is ICS update an improvement of deterioration.
Definitely an improvement over GB in a lot of areas. The UI on SXS is much better than touchwiz provided by samsung.
Q.7 How's video playback? Does it play divx/xvid?
I play both Xvid as well as x264 encoded MP4s without any problems on the stock video player.
Lastly: samsung has been fooling Indian consumers by selling 9100G model which is technically inferior to 9100. so beware before buying.
Thanks a lot, your reply is a big help. I will checkout Xperia S at Sony showroom tomorrow.
One last question if you don't mind.
Have you ever experienced stuttering music playback while using maps or any other hardware intense app?
(Someone mentioned something about stuttering music playback when Bluetooth or GPS is enabled.)

S3 is unfortunately out of my budget.
No comparison really IMO. The XS screen alone will make you forget Galaxy SII. Even the Galaxy SIII screen is inferior to XS screen.
I'm very happy with my SxS, I still have it running on GB, I'll wait for the next ICS update-cycle before upgrading (or perhaps that will immediately be Jelly Bean).
But on GB, this is by far the best phone I've had or seen by friends/co-workers. There is also nothing in the ICS update I particulary want or need and I haven't seen (or wanted to use) any apps that require ICS yet.
I have seen the Galaxy S2, but it does have a lot of bugs in the GB Rom. Not sure about the ICS Roms. So I would definately go for the Xperia S. Also Sony support is really good, they read their own forums and really do fix their bugs, imho. Not saying Samsung doesn't, but for example LG is really crap in this area.
Despite of having some doubts i am going for SXS. Let's just hope for the best.
Thanks for your help guys!

I have stuttery music playback on GB and that can be if I've simply got a browser open in background.
To OP, my advice would be to get the SGSII because, in my experience, this phone hasn't lived up to expectations whatsoever. It might be because I got the phone so early after it was released, but then again it might not be.
Obviously the choice is yours, but I'll put it simply.
If you want a better spec phone with better graphics for gaming, video playback etc, then go for the Xperia S. If you want a great reliable phone to last over the 2-3 years, then the SGSII is your best option

My experience has been great with the Xperia S. I recently sent back a Galaxy Nexus because of the poor samsung build quality. I would never buy a Samsung except maybe a galaxy 3. But it is too expensive and still not worth it. Sorry but the Galaxy S 2 is not even a comparison to the Xperia s.

For general usage, my experience with the phone has been great and I can't fault it. It's just when it comes to being a heavy duty user, that it just isn't capable of working to the extent it should.
It also depends on how long ago you got your SXS because I got mine on the 2nd day of release in the UK, whereas if I was to have only got it over the last couple of weeks, I probably wouldn't be having these problems with it.

I would consider myself a heavy user and it has been really good so far. My buddy had a Galaxy S2 and had nothing but problems. The S can only get better too, because Sony has been release updates for it pretty quickly. If anything the op should consider a Galaxy Nexus or the Xperia S. Galaxy S2 is terrible.

So basically you guys are telling me there's bug in early builds of this phone?

Yes early batches (some of them) had the yellow tint screen issue. But all that is solved now in the fresh batches since May.

Hey,
I've been using my Xperia Acro S for about 10 days now, i've used the Galaxy S 3, S2, HTC One X and Defy before this.
The first thing i did when i got the Xperia Acro S was put it in a tub filled with about 50CM of water, left it there for about a minute, when i took it out everything worked fine, just be sure to close all the connection ports before you try this.
The phone's performance is pretty much on par with the Galaxy S 2, i haven't noticed any lag in using the device, sometimes it becomes laggy but that's because i have many apps open in the background so i assume that's normal.
I've played The Dark Knight Rises and it was completely lag free, the graphics were great.
I've also played Dead Trigger without any issues, great graphics as well.
When i compare it directly with the Motorola Defy it's quite a big step up,
The performance improvement is noticable.
Another useful feature is wet-finger tracking which allows you to use the screen with wet fingers, i remember this being a problem with my Defy.
The battery life for me is ok. I usually manage to get about 3 hours screen on time, this is with 5 active e-mails push syncing, using 3-4 apps like WhatsApp, Bluetooth on all day (connected for half the day). Wi-Fi on all the time, brightness set to max.
The camera is very satisfactory for me, it has nice features like panorama, smile detection etc and the quality is better than the 8MP camera's from the other high-end phones.
The only thing that slightly bothered me was that the phone's NFC doesn't seem to be on par with other higher end devices,
Basically i have to press the NFC card on the back of the phone and sometimes it doesn't even recognize it.
Whereas on the HTC One X and Galaxy S 3 it's sufficient to just put the NFC card a couple of CM's away from the phone and it recognizes always.
As i said, not a big problem, just saying.
All in all, i am very satisfied.
Hope this helped.
Does it feels fat? It looks fat but I want to know this from someone who has it

I had a Galaxy S3 GT I9300, but from a week back I'm currently having a Sony Xperia Ion. Tbh, I loved Sony's UI much better and some backup & restore unbuilt facilities better than of Samsung. So yeah, being the holder of S3. I will sitll recommend you Acro S.

Thank you both of you... Guess I've made my choice Just waiting for Sony to launch this baby in India!
The back of the phone heats up very fast.
And battery not that satisfied, 1.5GHz is too much for the phone.
I underclocked to 1GHz and games still run lag-free, (riptide 3D,Cordy,Cordy sky)
And when your screen is awake, and u pour water on it, the phone interface will messed up. (Water somehow acts as fingers and some dragging and long press occurs)
And u can't really dip the phone into water with screen awake, like above the screen will go crazy and no response at all.
If u awake the phone in water, u can't touch anything, but if u can turn on the camera, u can use the shutter button to take pictures. (provided ur screen doesn't messed up)
So its water resistant doesnt mean u can use ur phone underwater

Comparing to the Defy, it's obviously a worthy upgrade. In term of battery life, it's okayish for a dual core phone. I have been playing 3D game like dead trigger with zero lag problem so I will vouch for that. Camera is superb if you know how to use it right. Sony camera is a bit different, the auto focus was kinda clumsy and you have to do it manually to get the best quality. Water proof is definely a plus. This phone can last for years before your next upgrade.

I don't think wifi-direct is supported on acro s ics version yet, at least I cannot find the options as shown on the other xperias which do support it. DLNA support only so far...

Yes, that specs on GsmArena brought my hopes up, but now I am more inclined to think specs listed it as an error. The specs listed inside the GsmArena review page1 do not say wifi-direct.
Xperia P has wifi-direct but is not snapdragon S3. I wonder if any S3 based phone currently has wifi-direct?

I guess we have to ask HTC folks for that.
But i had google it. And the page i landed too. Stated it would not.

My HTC Sensation has the same CPU as ACRO S and HTC support Wi-Fi Direct
Seems like wifi-direct support depends on the wireless communication chipset used, might have nothing to do with S3 or not. Could not find any high res photos or mention what chip is in 2012 xperias though...

i too currently own a motorola defy as the op, and i plan to upgrade in 1-2 months, and my definite win was acro s - until now.
im not the type to stick to stock roms, im a dedicated cyanogenmod user, and i really want a phone which runs cm10 without problem, but now i read that until sony releases a jb upgrade for the acro s, cm10 wont have camera and the battery drains a lot. although from what i understand cm9 is running quite decently, so i think i can stick with that. but will this always be like this, that the acro s wont be upgradeable until sony released an official build?
and i have another question:
the xperia s and xperia acro s have almost identical hardware, except the battery and the microsd extension.
and the xperia s has aosp support, and sony already released its binaries. why cant we use its binaries to fix the camera and the battery drain? or am i seriously missing something here? what are the differences between the two devices software-wise?
and i also read that cm10 is not really ready for daily use yet. is that because the high battery consumption and lack of camera, or are there other bugs?
sorry for asking this many questions, but i couldnt find any answers to this anywhere, even though i did search them first.
Quarx is missing
I might consider Xperia V
I can say that Acro S with the stock rom with all the bloatware removed is a decent device, very stable .
I personally have no issues with it. I tried all the other "stable" roms out there (MIUI and CM9.1) and I always came back to stock .
Xperia T has MHL (HDMI) and Camera working as of FXP 142 when it's released

[Q] sugestion to buy xperia go or not

hy all,
now i have a lww and iwant to get moved to go, but i wanna know, how its pefformance??(for daily use, im not a gamer) and battery life?? how its support?? (unofficial way definitly, i know official way it isn't good) and is i can swim with it?? cause that was what i wanted to do.
so, should i buy xgo???
If you are going to use it only for basic uses like calling, messaging and installing casual apps then u should go for it. Provided u don't mind the lower Res screen. Biggest plus point would be that it is water and dust resistant. Battery life totally depends upon usage. If u are a casual user then you should get past 8 hrs. But I am skeptical about software support especially since I feel 4.1 would be the last official update from Sony. And unofficially I don't know what is possible because the soc maker that is St Ericsson hasn't released sources pertaining to novathor chip set and I wonder if they will ever release it coz St Ericsson is no more. This is an issue plaguing all devices having novathor chipset. If someone can port os beyond 4.1 then it will be pure magic.
Sent from my Xperia Sola using xda app-developers app
wow, its make me think twice even three times, to get xgo, so unofficial way it isn't good too? man, my lww get cm 10.1 that its android 4.2.2 and xgo just stuck in 4.1. even nAa make 3.x kernel for 2011mdpi device.
anyway, thanks for your repply, thanks pressed
Hi there! I have an X go. For basics stuff is ok. Gingerbread runs fast (but is GB...) ICS is nicer but soooo sloooowwww, and JB seems never will be ready. The GPS sucks, sometimes takes 30 minutes to find the fuc****g signal and sometimes will be better to wait on a chair for the gps signal (never). I won’t recommend it, but depends on how much money you have. Is the one I have so, I love it and I hate it, especially for the gps because, I bought it for running and track my runs but... sometimes you just want to $/$/(7)&%/#@
You should better go for a Qualcomm powered device dude, stay away from others chips
Sent from my LT22i using xda premium
ICS is slow as hell before rooting and removing junk and editing build.prop.
You can swim with it. Not too deep and not for too long. Screen won't respond underwater so you'll need to start filming above water and you'll need a different camera app to take pics underwater with the vol key. Also when it's too wet, finger tracking doesn't work as much as the Active.
I bought mine because my hands sweat a lot and I'm reckless with gadgets. Also, it's fun to watch the reactions of other smartphone users (read: iFans) by saying "Can your (brand here) phone do this without protection?" I'll then throw my uncased phone behind me or drop it in a glass of liquid.
Sent from my not-so-stock, BL=Locked, ST27i.B.1.10
So, otherwise Active is better rights??? Even with single core.
But i hate design of Active, its so odd for me.
And for xgo user, how many hours your battery from 100% to 0%
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app
Active is a really tough phone but it lacks power.
Battery life depends on how it's used. I'm not really a stickler for battery life when in use. It's the standby time I look for. With tweaks, I probably lose about 2% overnight while sleeping (wifi on). This can probably go a week if I don't touch it. IF.
Sent from my not-so-stock, BL=Locked, ST27i.B.1.10
If you are a casual user not a heavy gamer and if I are happy with its 512 MB RAM AND ITS CAMERA then you should buy it.And btw I'm also in ics,I don't face touch lags as I have root access and using setcpu to 1000 Mhz.I usually play games half an hour or less ,use internet almost 3 hrs(data traffic on only when I use it),I don't use WiFi and I get almost 20 hrs of battery.
And yes our Xperia go is very very close to get the jb update 4.1.2 within a week.So IYS your choice whether to buy it or not.
Its major disadvantage that I feel is its low resolution and small size screen, also less ram(512).
Thanks guys, i decided to buy xgo next week. Just one last question. Its the yellow one is always the sport edition??
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app
If I understand your question, I think both the yellow one and the black one are the same. It is just a matter of tastes. With JB, I don't hate anymore this phone. With some xda help finally, the gps is working properly. Good luck with your purchase!

i get my xGo yesterday, and its great, also got pretty good battery life in ICS, Overall its awesome:good::good::good::victory:

How is ZU (opinions apreciated)

So im thinking of buying a ZU
Id like to know how it is, any lag, landscape lag, bugs etc
And also id like to know some bootloader info
How easy to unlock
Is kernel layout and workings simular to other devices?
-Side note, im a noob dev, im learning how to modify kernels and such, also some learning on the side with roms
C#/+/++
Java
Blah blah
Would you reccomend it instead of a Z1 or Z
Thank you

- No lag that is worth mentioning
- Sony has its own bootloader unlocker, or you can use Flashtool
I can't give you any answers regarding kernel stuff and things like that, since i'm not a dev. Would i recommend the Ultra over the Z1? It really depends. Do you want a big or a "small" device? They are identical hardware wise - except for the camera and screen - where the Ultra has the superior screen (AH-IPS on the Ultra vs VA TFT on the Z1), while the Z1 has a much better camera (The Ultra's camera is really bad). Rooting is a b**** at the moment since the latest firmware fixed an exploit, so it's not that straight forward to root it if you're on the latest firmware (you can always downgrade, though). Am i happy with the Ultra? Very. There are no serious bugs (in the latest fw), the battery is good, screen is good etc.
It's a business/geek device.
That's it for now i guess. For the more technical kernel questions and stuff like that, i'll have to give my stick to someone else.
@LordManhattan
Thank you, been looking into upgrading from my Xperia S
I dont like that with Z1 unlocking your bootloader breaks the camera
ZU may be my choice

I recommend you to check it out in a store before buying/ordering it if you have the chance. It's really big, but it grows on you after about a week and it won't be so intimidating, but again; it's big

it is definitely big, and also heavy with my 4500 mah battery case, but it is SO growing on me, hehe. the display is awesome, and the stock rom runs great, and i have plenty of battery life even without my battery case.
the funny thing is, the device actually felt small to me at first. the reason being that it reminded me of a Nexus 7 2013, but it's small for an N7

I haven't really played any CPU/GPU intensive games, except for Riptide GP 2, and I've had no issues with overheating at all. It may - as all devices, give off some heat but it won't melt your hands or burn down your house.
GTA might heat it up a bit if you play for awhile and especially if you're charging it at the same time, though. We don't really know until you try it.

The phone is amazing, after 1-2 days its not actually as big as you first think. The speed, is incredible, the screen is Godly. The battery life isnt great but its ok, at 5-5.5 hours of screen time. I love it... but i think i will be returning it now.
why?
Because the Camera quality is beyond bad. If you intend to take any pictures at all, dont get this phone.
Saying the camera is bad makes it sound good, its really really really reallyyyy bad. Like in perfect lighting conditions itl take a photo about the quality of a phone 2-3 years ago.
If the conditions are anything but perfect... WOW i mean, a pastel painting may be more accurate at displaying what you took a photo of.
Im not some photographer or photo snob, I just like to occasionally take out my phone and snap a photo which i have done with my last 4 phones with pleasure. But not this one.
so dont be disappointed when every single photo that you take looks like complete utter trash.

I play games on it, real racing 3, asphalt 8, deadtrigger, GTA 3. No overheating problems at all, I think due to the glass on the back heat is quickly transferred to the air.
Simply amazing phone, in fact the best Phablet on the market for someone like me who switched from Samsung's Galaxy Note series. Yes the Camera low light performance is useless but you need to consider how important imaging is to you or the lack of flash. I really don't mind as long as they improve the internal camera app. It is let down by poor software optimizations.
To get the best out of XZU, you need to install the Paranoid Android ROMs and let the magic happen. I have not done it yet but will wait for a stable rooting option before I go through all this as all the current solutions require too much effort and risk and I cannot afford it with this beauty.
Welcome to the world of - Ultra!
You will be happy to have this device. I love it. I've had other phablets, and this has proven to be the best so far.
- Build quality is amazing!
- UI is super smooth
- Battery is ok. You'll get a day out of it at least.
- Sony updates and dev support is great... best I've had so far.
- Gaming is great. I've had no stutters, and all games have been on Max.
- Connectivity is good. wifi sometimes lacks range and will disconnect when I'm 8-10m away from router. That's strange.
- Camera is ok. Its 5 / 10 so average.. From what you say its probably only slightly better than the 'S'
** maybe you can make a kernel for my rom?? Be good to have more than base tweaks **

I sent my sola to repair service now the third time. at the moment my sola is in the 3rd repair process and I'm using a Xperia Ray for daily use with Polish Blood ROM anf I think I like the X Ray more than my sola Normally I love my sola (even if the support by sony is ****ty and ROMs are never bugless because lacking sources..) but having a better cam + front cam + better RAM management + better ROM support is just awesome

i love my xperia U a lot.....
never had any problem with it....
using cm11 on it..
just loved it(except for less memory)....
I bought Xperia U one and half year ago! It's a awesome device, considering his price.
Xperia P, good phone to daily use. Nice screen, good camera, good sound, clear voice connections. ****ty battery.
I own a Sola, Nice hardware, bad software.
Got myself a nexus 4.
I beginning to love my Xperia P thanks to the devs
The stock ROM was laggy, with a lot of bugs... Bad experience... Now I have CM11 and it works like a charm
Very fast, with good performance with almost good battery life. Of course, battery life depends of usage.
I loved my XSola but after it got 3 times repaired I don't want to have itanymore, just too much trubles. I sent it back
Really happy with my Sola even if the ICS update pretty much destroyed the battery-life, made the phone extremely laggy and lead me to look into all this rooting and custom-rom business. Currently enjoying a smooth experience with CM11 and battery life seems to be not too far off from the original stock-GB.
I'm either extremely lucky or my phone is abnormally durable because I have not yet bricked it despite fumbling around a lot trying to figure out how to install roms and flash kernel. Also, the phone has been subjected to pretty extreme conditions and gotten away unscathed; high temperatures, low temperatures, high humidity, shaking and rattling, all kinds of gases and fumes, strong electromagnetic fields and radiation.
Size is close to perfect and my only complaint is the low amount of ram which is becoming an issue with newer apps. I've been following the news about Xperia Z1 Compact's successor, but the price will probably be bit too much for my taste.
They could have bothered putting some more extra RAM, the battery is also a bit undersized but hardly as troubling (still gets through an average day fine). The screen size and quality is a big pro, so are lightbar notifications with the right software (talking about which, the power LED is extremely dim, did I get a bad phone or is it designed this way?)
Having paid like 120 € for my U, (but the same place was selling the Go -that actually has worse hardware- for 180!!) I think it was worth the price, on par with the year older Optimus One P500 a friend bought and got me interested in Android
Then again I'm biased by my first Android phone being an Ace 2, with a similiar architecture but 1- (potentially, given the right software) outperforming the U in almost every capability, 2- having switched after 4 years of iPhones and 3- nothing beats free products
I like my P, it's good looking, durable (dropped it few times) and incredibly fast with CM 11. Battery capacity is small though but I can deal with that.
Previosly I had Xperia X10 Mini, oh boy that thing was a beast.
There's no phone in the world like Sony's.

Well, i got to say that Samsung's are the best , but Sony's phones are the most elegant ( also i think that the illumination bar is a great idea, the size of the xperia U is well "thinked" ...if i want a 4.5 inches , i'll buy a tablet)
Never the less, i got a locked bootloader , it's something i could'nt choose as i was buying it. That point is a shame !! :crying:
i've got an xperia u, a good year and a half old now
inconsistent battery life (sometimes i get 12 hours, sometimes i get 2 days both with medium use) and that stupid illumination bar (why nobody managed to create something that permanently shuts it off is beyond me) are the biggest cons
i like its build quality, size and design. for its price it was the best deal back then.
currently running a jb rom on it which is smoother than stock ics but functions like usb tethering and wifi hotspot don't work which is kind of a bummer. it's another pet peeve of mine, ten million buggy roms got released over the past 2 years and not one of them work perfectly.
