Modified Dropbox? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

No doubt many people use Dropbox on here and very good it is too, however there are some missing parts which I'd love to see implemented.
For example, unless I'm missing something i cannot see a function which let's you multi select files, also you don't appear to be able to export folders you have to click into the folder and export files one by one which is a pain, other small bits too that could be implemented but the two I mentioned are the main ones.
I'm wondering if someone could put together a modified version of Dropbox, or would I just be better contacting Dropbox myself with these suggestions?

Sent an email to Dropbox but got no response :-\, it's not so much solid explorer or anything else like root explorer, etc I just want to to see much more options in Dropbox
I have a folder of over 1,000 wallpapers I use on my phone which I also have saved to Dropbox but unless I manually export them all to my Nexus 7 there is no option to multi select which is annoying

You want to convert an excel sheet to an apk file?
Not remotely possible on a "plug and play" thing, even on a project this simple, it wud take extensive code work to do it...

What is your goal? If you just want to view it, why not use an office document view like quickoffice?

Excel file shows praying times. Its better if it is an apk other than using a office program to open it.

You could take the data from the spreadsheet and display it in the form of a table within a apk but it depends on if you want the spreadsheet to be editable etc

No, editable. I only want to see. Look at pic. In office i have to resize it every time and i want it full screen.
OK I could do this for a small price PM me and we will talk

Please just press the PrtScn key and open paint or any other photo editor program, then paste and crop to eliminate the things that you don't want around your image.

How to access my Google account notes

Hi
Just as the title says how can I read my Google notes in my phone?
The build in note isn't connected to Google it seems as one would expect.
Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2
Is there really no one who uses the notes from their google account?
On my iPhone it connected the build-in notes program with google notes so it downloaded my notes from google and also uploaded any new notes i made, i really miss this on my android now
If you know any way to achieve this please let me know. Thanks!
Open Gmail third icon along "manage labels", Scroll down to notes
Sorted

Problem with this proposal is that i can not edit the notes from phone as a "note". They are handled as email using gmail android application.
So question is still open....
Or use evernote?

Looking for a simple image app.

I use my device for studying, and find myself needing to copy and paste images which I need to annotate, however, I have yet to find an app which allows me to easily paste an image and write or draw on it, your help would be greatly appreciated.

I have to return some video tapes....
Probably should have said so in my original post, but I've tried several programs already including skitch and sketchboard, and neither one suits me.
Both of them do not allow simple image pasting.

May be stating the obvious but have you tried S Note?

Hidden videos on S3

Has anyone else found the random hidden videos in their s3? These videos don't show up when you go to Gallery > videos. I found 2 videos in /system/media/video . 1 called android in space the other called sunset.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Yeah I found. Since then wondering what would be their use? They may have use for specific system feature.
The only way to have found them is by having root access or via es file explorer or something similar. Just another of Google's Easter eggs?

Haha never noticed them android in space is awesome.

They reside on the preload partition, have no use and come from Samsung.
Not exactly "hidden" if you ask me.

Not true, they are part of android, not just Samsung.
Also they are not in preload, they are part of system/media/ as already mentioned.
They are in all android installations, CyanogenMod has them, aosp has them etc. etc.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
The reason for them being on the device as with other phones and tablets is so you can check video play back along with checking the screen quality while playing videos.

I would say they were hidden, a normal user wouldn't be looking around the root file systems. Most people who don't know what UNIX is would have no idea that there are directories other than what they can see on /sdcard

From normal user perspective they can be defined as hidden. I agreed. Wih Root and android everything.pretty much. is naked.

[Q] Lock Apps Via Fingerprint

Hey Guys!
I just recently got my Galaxy S5, and I noticed that I'd rather have some conversations in texts hidden from prying eyes. I was wondering if anyone has found an app or mod to do this.
I'm either wanting an app to hide messages in the stock app and make them reappear when I authorize it to (by scanning my finger) Or just have the app locked (or any app, for that manner) and unlockable with my fingerprint.
I think many people would love this feature, and I might pay someone to make it! I know Samsung released the API, but I dont really know how to code something like this!
So if anyone knows an app, or can actually make one, Please let me know!
Thanks Guys!

On the moment NO .
It will return an undefined error.
The AOSP roms don't have the files for the fingerprint reader. These should be flashes first. I have not found any flashable zip for this but I hope someone will create it

Why don't you include the necessary files inside your app as assets, then, using root, copy the files to the required directories for the user?
