[Q] Problem after shutdown - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi you all wonder full people
i am having a problem with my vibrant when i shut down completely. Right now its rooted and running the 4.2.1 hellbean rom. this problem has been happening before i even installed the 4.2.1.
So what happens is that after shut down the screen is turned off and this loading circular icon keeps flashing on the screen and wont stop.
Also when i connect the usb wire to the phone and try to turn it on. The android guy pops up doing some construction work with a spade and tells me to do not turn of power downloading or something like that. its in yellow. it can be real problem turning the phone on.
So question is how do i make my problems go away?
only way to turn this phone on right now is to connenct it to the charg er and then turn it on

The android guy and triangle is download mode, don't know about the other.
I am Jack's inflamed sense of rejection.

sow how do i stop it from going to download mode. cuz right now the only way the phone starts is by plugging it in to the charger.

Well you could try using Odin to go back to stock but I'm not sure if that will help.
What does it do after download mode pops up?
Your situation is very unique.
Would you prefer my usual method of conflict resolution?

it does nothing after the download mode popup .
right now the major problem is the loading icon that pops up after i shut down the phone the only way to turn the phone on was connecting my charger to the wall and then my phone and then turning it on.
recently i deleted many folders from the internal memory when connected to the computer because there were some apps that i deleted a long time ago but they left there folders. So perhaps in the cleanup duty i deleted something important?--> this was before the flashing of the new rom.
and whats your usual method to resolve conflict. sell the phone?

I think you might have issues with power button/volume rocker.
Would you prefer my usual method of conflict resolution?

I am going to explaing my situation again just to make things clear
Main problem wont turn on after shutdown unless connected to charger on the wall
The phone is showing a loading icon a smal white frayed circle in the middle when its turned off continuosly flashing.
The phone wont turn on unless i connect it to the charger that is connected to the wall and press the up volume button and the power on button.
When its connected to the computer through usb it goes straight to download mode with yellow android icon appearing with the shovel
When its not connected to any power source and is turned off the phone continuously flashes the loading icon that i mentioned above.
Also i think this problem might have occured when i tried to clean files from the main sd card that were useless or i thought were useless as apps can leave behind many folders once uninstalled.

update: it wasnt the power and rocker button. Something is up with the power jack. I took the usb and pressed hard on the power jack and the pressure seems to have fixed the problem. For now.

[Q] Cherry Mobile Superion won't turn-on

Hi All,
I have flashed EUViewPad 7 based on Stock rom. installed SD Card Booster, CPU Master and etc.
The flash is fine since I managed to boot it and install several apps.
Until I needed to reboot the device since the hacker keyboard always forces to close. I rebooted it and poof I am in infinite boot animation without a way to remove the battery. afraid to fiddle just waited the battery to drain so I can test again(This happened on my O1. just removed the battery, put it back and its ok)
I have drained the battery after almost 8 hours of non stop boot animation. But this device won't turn on anymore. It just vibrates when I press the on button.
Tried opening the back(crap I have scratched the back covering. now it has large scratches ) but the battery is taped . My question folks is what is the possible solution to my problem aside from removing the battery(can't even get to clockword recovery)
Thanks
Not too sure about your device, but doesn't yours have a reset button like the viewpad?
Should be a small hole on the bottom edge right next to the microphone.
Try pressing that with a paperclip if you're having boot problems.
Anyway, if you've drained the battery completely, make sure to leave it charging for a little while. Too low battery voltage will make it unable to start. 15 mins or so should be more then enough.
Try starting with both volume buttons + power pressed. Keep holding it until you see "entering recovery mode."
Let me know if this gives any results.

Ahh I have that reset button beside the microphone hole. Will try this later on. Thanks for your help and for your custom rom
Uh oh... Tried pressing the small hall beside microphone, pressed on button. No luck. tried pressing that hole and on at the same time No luck again.
Is it possible that it will mess up the whole boot process due to boot animation loop??

I'm afraid and it sounded like, from your descriptions, that the boot process has been messed up .... so, what do you got to lose by trying to "wake" it up or at least respond to commands, right ?
Try holding the power button & use a small pin to press RESET - leave it connected to the power supply/charging unit.
Try holding both volume Up & Down key & use a small pin to press RESET
Try holding both volume Up & Down key along with the Power button at the same time, and press RESET (you might want to get someone to help you to this)
Try holding the volume Down (left) key & Power button, and press RESET with a small pin.
Does any of these work in getting the screen to show life, be patient as you might have to hold it for 10 to 30 seconds before it cycle & restart/display the 3 birds ...
Chances are you will need to flash a stock ROM with the SULT3 utility, and then if successful, root it again & start over (carefully) - it might work or it might not even connect via usb at all .... worth a try, got nothing to lose at this point.
As a last resort, contact Cherry Mobile and get it repaired & sending it back to the shop .... check the warranty details in your locale, opening the rear case & exposing the battery, might or might not void your warranty coverage.
Hi Letiride,
I have tried the combinations you have specified but no avail. I can't boot this so my PC with correct drivers cannot even recognize i plugged this.
Is my Tablet already bricked?? I have bought this second hand so no warranty already.
Huhuhu Did I already have one of the "Vibrator" Android phone

Oh mine, no - if it won't power up or boot into Recovery or FTM mode, I'm afraid it's critical if not officially certified "paperweight". Try uninstalling your PC's usb drivers for the device, or use another computer & install SUTL3 utility from Viewsonic, and see if it can at least beep & signal some USB sequence loading the drivers.
Here's a link to Droid Explorer posted elsewhere in XDA (instead of pointing you to "Search" for it) Install it if you can get the yours powered on, but use it with care as it's a very "powerful" tool to explore all the hidden workings of the Android device(s).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=558108
My feeling is that the core image & boot file(s) were corrupted, damaged & overwritten, and it need to be reformatted & reflashed from a stock *.nb0 file, someone with adb might be able to - maybe, just maybe - rescue it.
Let's see if one of our fellow developers might have a better solution on where to begin b/c this is about as far as I can offer - well, you can always put on eBay for parts & hoped you didn't spend a lot as 2nd. hand.
Uhhh looks like i have no other choice but to have this repaired at service center and pay

Battery charging icon when phone is off

I have a very weird problem here, when the phone is off and not connected to the cable or pc the battery shows up on the screen as if it's charging itself LOL. And when I turn it on it won't turn on.
The only workaround I found is to connect the USB cable to the PC then press and hold "Volume down" then briefly press "Power button" from then it would boot normally. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
That isn't too surprise, believe or not, I've removed the battery pack off the phone and I'm still able searching web and make phone call.
Your phone is OFF and the icon still shows???
Yeah it's totally off and it still shows, even the progress bar is moving at the bottom of the battery icon.
What could be causing this? How can I fix it?

[Q] S3 keeps restart itself

i got s3, suddenly it started to reboot itself all the time, what i see is only the samsung logo and then black, and samsung again.
the funny thing is that when i put the battery in, it automaticly start with this loop.
during the loop, when i press home+volume up, i can see the cwm screen for two seconds, and then it reboot again.
if i press home+voulume down, i see the warning in the stock recovery, but when i press volume up, nothing changed, and eventually after two seconds it reboots again.
i tried to connect it to my pc, but it dosen't show it in device manager, and have no indication that i connected it.
also, when i connect it the charger, i see circle, and then a battery for a brief second, and then the circle again.
is it simple hardware problem (stuck power button? even though it seem okay, but it may explain the automatic turn on), or half SDS?
anyway, are there any recommondations? i have'nt flashed it recently or anything like it.

if i try to get to download mode (home and volume down) i see the warning, but either i press volume up or down, it reset itself.

the regular, about flashing custom roms, if i want to continue press volume up, restart, volume down.
either way, it restarts.
any way it is the power button stuck in 1 mode?
If phone starts on battery insertion, before you push the button then yes, power button is shorted out.

Try leaving the battery out overnight/long time, it helped when I got my phone stuck in a bootloop. But that was due to oc/uv...did you try something risky, causing it to bootloop?
no, it was in regular use, nothing risky.
yesterday i dissassembled it and checked with multimeter, it seem that the power button shorting the circuit, so i ordered a new one, going to be a surgical operation...

Problem solved just replace old power button and no problem! cost me less than 10 Euro

I effed up again....

Sooo.... HDX 8.9 Saturn... Rooted using Kingroot, and Disabled OTA... and the home launcher... so I'm at the point where windows explorer opens up the kindle, but i don't see anything because I had a password on it, and ADB won't let me install a new launcher to fix my mistake... Does anyone know the fix to this or can point me to the right path?
I guess your one option is hard reset from stock recovery.
You need working adb. I suppose after the hard reset adb access will appear. But no guarantees.
Will that not disable adb anyways?
I said: "no guarantees". but I dont see other option anyway.
Can't get into recovery... What are the buttons to be holding... Vol Up + Power, right?
Just hold vol up immediately after power on.

Right I did that, got in, but it cycled out almost instantly... I tried a few more times, and left it alone.. now it won't respond to anything, not even when I plug it in... argh... Looks like its permanently dead.
i dont think that this is possible
try to leave it in charge or hold power button long, above 3 min.

just clarifying, hold vol up immediately after power on, without holding power button.
I left it on the charger overnight, and now it won't respond...
That is how I got into recovery, then it cycled out... I tried to go into recovery with only the volume up, and it wouldn't let me, and then this happened....
i'm going to hold off until Saturday, and leave it for about 5 hours on the charger... See if that does something
Yeah, so I left it in the charger overnight, and there is no response no matter what button combo I do....
so what the heck happened... I didn't do anything in recovery, unless it did something when it flashed out...
Well, I finally did the factory reset... I have the notification panel and the home buttons panel... Settings doesn't work, neither does wireless, and I have a flickering screen.
Amazon said they will send me a new one...
Search Partially works, except that I can't really turn on wifi to download an apk or turn on ADB using the option... wonder what would happen if I tried ADB now... not much point anyways since I'll get a new one, just loose root.... I can live with the new UI

How to switch on Xiaomi Mi4i without the power button

Hi,
My phone has a faulty power button and I'm unable to get it fixed. I've found easy work-arounds for it for locking and unlocking the phone. However, I'm not sure how to turn on the phone if it's switched off.
When I connect the charger, even if the battery is 90% it won't turn on on its own...

Nope, the only way I could turn it on was to open the back cover (very painful process) and then press the button area with a pin.
Couldn't get it fixed, so I had to change the phone.
I think there are possibilities in rooted phones, but otherwise the best thing to do is to keep a battery alarm at 30% or more, and keep it on charging whenever you can to avoid a power off. In power on, there are many ways of locking the screen in the MI UI.

Thanks. I installed Blocco Schermo - Simi Studio v.3.21 , a simple app to lock the screen...and when i flagged the option "show in notification area" , the problem magically disappeared.. The Power On/Off button started to work again. I think it was an hardware problem (because the problem has come up after the phone was at the sunlight for hours in my car and went very hot) but now i think it's obviously a software problem.
Hi guys, I got the same problem too. Unfortunately, I drained my batt while playing games. So the problem now is I can't turn it on. Any idea how to turn on the phone without using the power button?
I solved it
Hi guys i solved a problem! You should hold main button + down volume button for 10-20 seconds. Then, when MI Remote opens, stay on the reboot and wait about 3 minutes, then stay on the reboot systems as well. Great work!
just change the volume flexible. its also not took much cost.
