Has the Nabi 2 Wi-Fi issue supposedly been resolved?
I went through the process described in the rooting thread, including doing the OTA updates to .37 before rooting. I successfully rooted and added gapps. Then I made a TWRP backup of the tablet and all the games my kid installed.
The tablet runs fine for a day or two... then the wi-fi gets stuck on "Turning Wi-Fi On..."
At this point, I can restore my TWRP backup, and all is good again... for another day or two.
Is this the same Wi-Fi issue others are experiencing? Does it take some time for the problem to develop for everyone?
Should I flash back to an early stock image and try again?

The main wifi issue was because of not doing the updates, I haven't heard of your issue and is probably related to something else, have you cleared cache/dalvik?

Hi,
I have a major issue with my WiFi and reboots.
Background: I am using an ATT phone within the UK on T-Mobile network.
Randomely, the other day, the WiFi turned off and when I turned it back on, it says Error....
I have tried everything I can think of; wiping and reinstalling rom, erasing everything in fastboot, updating the radio (further question on that) and also kernels! Finally I tried FruitCake to get back to stock, still no luck!!
Radio: Are radio's carrier specific, i.e. could I flash a radio meant for Europe to replace the ATT one? (I am on .36)
What can I do now, please. Thanks

If it helps, i accidentally formatted the PDS partition a while back and the reason for reboot is AP KERNEL PANIC
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am having similar problems. Just last night my phone started rebooting frequently after having turl's v8 build of cm9 for probably a week and it was working great. However, now I have tried wiping everything, putting on different cm7 or cm9 builds and what I have come to the conclusion is anytime I turn the WiFi on, it reboots.
It is not even connecting to anything, just turning it on makes it reboot. I was on the .36 radio with this issue, I tried using the .37P radio and it did not fix it.
Does anyone have any other ideas to try and fix?
Benny,
Do you get the option to turn it on? I'm on cm9 and it'll show up like the attached after it reboots.
No. I dont have that screen. It just says wifi error and Bluetooth crashes as well....

From the other threads I have read, I think we are boned. It seems like the Broadcom WiFi/Bluetooth chipset is borked and the only fix other people have gotten is through an actual repair. I hope you are under warranty - I'm going to revert to stock and hope they accept it.

But, how come whenever I flash a new rom, the WiFi will work temporarily, i.e. it would connect, obtain IP etc for a few minutes then just not work until I reflash?
Surely that is not hardware?

Did you use Titanium Backup, and restore apps like Maps, Music, and YouTube? People are saying this can cause issues.
Also did you restore call logs after flashing? I experienced my wifi and mobile networking dying after doing that on only some of the new roms out there lately. It's a bug with one of the base roms, that a lot of custom roms are based off of. It was fixed with a new base rom version, but some of the custom roms have yet to officially update. Updates are under way though. Try out Morrison's 0.7 and see if you get the same result. It's been updated.
Although, you could be having a completely different issue. If you mean you can just leave it running after flashing and the wifi dies, I don't know what to say.

Tried all of the above and still nothing unfortunately. Just want to update on symptoms of the phone if that helps:
Everything eventually gets more and more buggy, even recovery is really laggy and slow
Data will stop after a few days use, and only fix that i know of is to reflash
WiFi does not work, it connects for about 30 seconds after a reflash, but then nothing.
Logcat says - Failed to Load WiFi Driver (after reporting WiFi HUNG)
The phone can crash when I plug in the MicroUSB to charge, when it restarts it says AP KERNEL PANIC.
I have tried everything except for flashing via RSD lite, do you think that could work?
Thanks
BUMP,
Any help at all with this unique situation would be very helpful.
Thanks
A few days ago, the wifi connection to my Verizon Note II stopped working. I see a strong signal from my router, and it attempts to connect, but inevitably gets "Authentication Error". It did the same thing with other networks, so it's not just my home wireless.
This is a well-known problem with 4.1.2 - and has been for a while. Google it. I did, and quickly went down a rabbit hole, leaving me frustrated, confused and still no closer to a fix. So I installed a 4.3 ROM, which also required an updated firmware.
I was using Jelly Beans 22 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032447)
I wiped everything and installed JellyWiz 4.3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2564495) with TWRP and VRUEMJ9 WIfI Firmware via Odin.
And still the error persists.
F** it. I'll jump to KitKat.
So I wiped everything again, updated TWRP, and installed Gummy (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2592339)
STILL NO WORKING WIFI. Same "Authentication" error
In between the above steps, I have tried literally everything I could find to fix this problem. Restarting my router (duh), changing settings in the wifi menu, the hidden "service mode" menu, energy saving, even dropping the /etc/wifi directory and replacing with a copy from 4.1.1.
What silly, stupid, inane detail did I miss?
SCH-I605
Android Version 4.4.2
Baseband I605VRUEMJ9
Kernel 3.0.64-gummy...
Have you updated to the mj9 firmware?
Fine. I'm done dealing with this, I thought, and nuked the phone back to the stone age.
Using Odin and instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207 I flashed back to 4.1.1 and a full factory reset.
Still. No. F***g. Wifi.
I have now spent the entire weekend upgrading and downgrading my Note II, to no effect. I'm almost *almost* convinced it's a hardware problem. If it didn't match so many other examples of a 4.1.2 wifi bug, to a T.
Anyhow, to the Verizon store I shall venture on the morrow, and demand satisfaction.

Yep. As part of flashing to 4.3 and Jelly Wiz.
No dice.
Did you use Odin or the flashable zip? ONLY the Odin method works. I tried using the zip, and while my phone said it was on mj9, it didn't update anything but the modem. This left me unable to use my WiFi on anything over 4.1. I hope this can be of some help
Ok guys. I browsed through the forums for this but can only find my issue on custom Roms. My issue is with my wife's phone on the Stock Rom. I rooted her phone the other night and since then her phone has no wifi signal til a reboot then her wifi comes back in nice and strong.
Is this a known root issue? Her phone is on 4.0.1, which I believe is the latest firmware for this phone to date. The only thing I did after rooting was, of course, install apps necessary for root and flashed a security program. Nothing else.
Would like this thread to be a single thread for all the modem/wifi issues. I see many people(including myself) cluttering up Rom threads with these issues. There are so many different variations of our issues and what bootloader we have vs. how we are rooted.
I'm on original MDK bootloader using TWRP as my recover and have the Verizon S4. I've never had any issues with wifi or bluetooth until I got into HyperDrive Rom around RLS 16. My issues started with no wifi or bluetooth but my hotspot would work. Then I got to the NC2/NC5 modems and lost bluetooth and wifi. The only way I can get everything to work is go back to the retail MDK modem file. Seems all the NC5 and NC2 fixes are for Safestrap. When I install those it messes with my HLOS and I lose sound and have other issues.
So, does anyone have any suggestions on where to start from?
Update: Another issue that I see, is under settings, under my hotspot option, it has "error". Never seen that before.

Very similar problem, if not the exact same problem. I had been fighting it since Hyperdrive 16 like you as well. I just fixed it about an hour ago with the help of some other people on the forums. Here is what I did to fix the problem. I started with the files here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2487298
I flashed the "MDK Modem+NONHLOS" file in TWRP and booted into the ROM to confirm that everything was working with the radios. Then flashed the standard retail NC5 modem (modem only file) from TWRP and booted into the ROM. All of my radios are working better than ever. I finally have fully functional WIFI and Bluetooth on Hyperdrive 18.1. I can't explain why this works yet; as I just discovered it and haven't had time to research yet. Hope this helps you out. I know half a dozen other people in the forums that I need to share this info with as well.

I have; both work very well. Why do you ask?
The last few times that I have gotten my wifi to work, once I tried my hotspot app then went back to try wifi, it was broken. When I hit my wifi quick launch button my hotspot will turn on.
So I finally Rooted my S4; Stock root with the towelroot method. And now the bluetooth won't turn on.
Hello all.
New poster here, been coming here for some time though for the loads of great information and generally helpful people.
I'm having an issue with my Honor 5x, and I seem to be the only one i can find on this forum having this issue.
The issue that I am having is that I lose the ability to connect to the cellular networks (I am actually running dual-sim) when I load a custom ROM after the first reboot.. The first time this happened, it even lost the IMEI numbers (WTF). I restored from the backup I made, and tried again. I got the same result, after the first reboot, it can no longer find the cellular networks, and when i try to search for network providers, it gives me an error simply saying "Error searching for networks." Restore backup again, flash resurrection rom to see if maybe CM13 is just being stupid with my phone, got no signal right off the bat, and could not find networks.
At this point, I restored the stock recovery, and let it recover my phone to stock, which is where I am at the moment, since it works. Also noteworthy, that every time I restored from backup, the phone had no problems at all connecting to the cellular networks. as well, it never had an issue through all of this with connecting to WiFi.
Relevant Information:
Phone Model: KIW-L24
Build Number: KIW-L24C567B331
Emui Version: 4.0
Android Version: 6.01
Kernel Version: 3.10.49-g472a5b3
Location: United states
Carriers: Cricket, MetroPCS
Bootloader is unlocked
I have not restored root access
I have Flashed TWRP and made a full backup (again)
I'm getting the feeling that it is due to to something that I have forgotten, but I can't seem to think of anything.
Help?
So close, but no cigar.
Still having issues, here's what Ive done so far:
Restored phone completely to stock, leaving only an unlocked bootloader.
Loaded the latest version of TWRP
Re-Rooted the phone
Made a complete backup of the phone, with no partitions left unchecked, in case of a catastrophic failure
Used TWRP to wipe Dalvik/ART, Cache, System, & Data
Loaded the latest CM13 nightly build
Loaded GApps pico version (I don't use many of the Google apps, so I prefer to download the ones that I want)
Wiped Dalvik/ART
Rebooted Phone
At this point, the phone went about its first boot business, loading stuff in the background, optimizing apps for the first use.
I skipped almost all of the first-time setup stuff, no sense in setting it all up if it didn't work this time as well, but connected to WiFi, selected the primary SIM, and activated data on that SIM. This is all normal from my other attempts as well.
Rebooted the phone, when it came back up, I had signal on my phone, and it successfully sent and received messages.
Added my Google account, rebooted again, not getting signal. checked network operator settings, and I get the message stating "Error searching for networks" for both SIM cards.
Removed Google account, changed SElinux settings to permissive, soft reboot, no change.
In the past, I did try wiping Dalvik/ART & cache once this happened, but the only thing that changed is that it caused the process com.android.phone to crash on me repeatedly.
Currently digging around on the net some more to see if maybe there's something that I missed.
Try 1 Sim? Its some bug with dual sim i guess
I will try that when I get a chance, I am currently trying to restore the phone back to stock again after another failed attempt.
Also noteworthy, I had it completely lose the sim cards on me after a restore to the working stock backup that i made earlier in the day yesterday, I had to completely revert to stock (Restore stock recovery, let it rest the phone to stock) then the SIM cards started working again.
This is starting to get rather frustrating.
I'll keep you updated, as I've kinda decided to make this a log of sorts of my experience with this.

I tried that, see my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/help/network-help-t3445510
i dont really know what to do, could the problem be MODEM.img???
Im having the exact same Issue, All roms loose the SIM card so I loose all signal and basically everything... a restart sometimes helps it, tried installing different ROMS, going back to STOCk 5.0.1 or 6.0.1 nothing Helps... NO clue what to do.
Same issue here. Happens on every Rom.
EDIT: Using KIW-L21 (UK)
Unlocked, single sim.
Maybe the it has something to do with modem.img
