Hello, I did an OTA update and now I have version 1.45.1500.3 and cannot revert back to stock because the RUU on the site is version 1.45.1500.2 and it's impossible to downgrade. I was wondering if anyone has the current version?

In my defense, I had just joined the forum yesterday and for the first time unlocked the bootloader, removed root, flashed a custom rom and kernel. But the OTA update was performed before I even came onto XDA, so I didn't know that because of it I would not be able to revert to stock. Now I do.

Hi guys, i'm just thinking about this:
If i downgrade hboot and i do root and recovery, when ics will be released i'll be able to update to it (FOTA)? Of course i'll go back to stock by RUU.exe

You can also wait till they have a rooted copy of it so you don't have to unroot to update it
Ok that's right xP But i can update to it if i get back to stock or not?

In all honesty, you can stay on stock, but there will be rooted version's, rom's which you'll want which will make the stock one look a bit naff, plus you won't be able to use apps like titanium and adfree etc.
Personally i'd never go with a stock rom, unless i had to. i'd probably get rid of my phone if i had to stay on stock.
I only want to know if i'll be able to update or no to ics >.<

Lol depends if it didn't come with bloat ware I would be happy just the way it was... Well I would wanna the tweak the icons and my own theme on it remove the bloat and uneeded stuff ... Stock always runs smooth less bloat more space... Battery life is great
Just hate the bloat crap they cram into it...

Mmmm... but it's the same if i unlock now right?! So i unlock now and when ics is released i'll get back to stock Right?
Just make a nandroid of the stock rom once you have recovery cwm and then you can simply 'superwipe' and restore, then just ota update.
I never even used the htc_unlock site because I had a cid_001 phone.
But first i have to downgrade the bootloader. i have done it. It have changed my android version now i'm updating by ota to lastest firmware. And then i s-off and install recovery and do a nandroidbackup right? Answer yes or no.

I agree with whoever said wait and get the rooted version.
A stock ICS rooted ROM will more than likely be up within 24 hr of it rolling, which is probably before most people get it naturally anyway.

PLEASE HELP ME!! I have the EVO LTE I rooted it on day 1 May 24 HOWEVER our Google wallet app has not been working so we got our Android 4.0.3 update. NOW I did the 1 click UN-INSTALL root then updated my phone from android 4.0 ICS to the android 4.0.3 now I tried RE-ROOTING the phone but it is NOT letting me. It does the reboot and everything but the root is UNSUCCESSFUL. I am extracting the correct HTC_EVO_4G_LTE root file and everything. Is there a DIFFERENT root file and link now because of this android 4.0.3 software & 1.22.651.3 firmware upgrade??

What modified firmware and software?? I did the OTA update that came 2 my phone. I want my root back
I recently tried rooting the phone with the new OTA, it's just going to fail since the HBoot updated. I also tried to do the RUU to go back and that failed as well. We just have to wait now.
You never accept an OTA while rooted or if you ever plan on rooting. Those are just the facts.
You have to wait until the developers find a fix now.

You are not completely out of luck. You can still unlock your bootloader via htcdev, and root. With the new bootloader you won't be able to flash radios, splash screens, or kernels through the recovery. I think its possible to flash kernels with extra steps like what was involved with hboot 1.5 on the Evo 3D.

Don't run the JB RUU it is known to cause problems. Relock your phone and take the OTA. It is the safest way.

Hey man, can you tell me where to find the stock recovery? I can't remember where to find it. I've been searching xda for about 45 minutes.
Hey,
Finally Optus rolled out some kind of Jelly Bean update for the Desire X. Yay? They have released Software Update 2.23.980.3 with Android 4.1.1 and Sense 4+. Is this the good bug free Jelly Bean update or the buggy horrible Jelly Bean? If this is the horrible update, then could you possibly tell me the update id for the good update so I can chase up optus.
Also is there any way to restore to ICS with a rom (My phone is locked to Optus AU) as my CWM Backup says MD5 sum mismatch when I try to do a backup.
I have to relock my bootloader and update then unlock it again right?
Thanks,
Joe

I have the 2.22.720.6 version update and as far as I have used, There isn't any bugs. Your update might be better (Or worse) cant say without testing.
To return to ICS after JB update, Follow this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213663
If you are having the stock recovery, rom and kernel and using the OTA Software update from Phone Settings then no need to unlock/relock bootloader.

Just remembered that I flashed a 4.2 Google Apps zip with no nandroid backup, can I still update by just flashing stock recovery?
I'm sorry, but I think you have to return to complete stock by using a nandroid backup by someone with the same CID like you. Or wait for S-OFF. But that can be a long time...

So if I went ahead, flashed stock recovery and updated, even with the flashed 4.2 GApps, what would happened.
P.S. If of any use, after I flashed the zip (6 Months Ago) and found I could not go back I panicked and relocked the boot loader and obviously the G Apps were still there, but the phone was still functional. When I realised what I had done was unreversable and unlocked the boot loader again.
Thanks,
