Hello,
Below is what I wrote in the Stock Official Firmwares thread.
I just un-rooted & flashed my GS3 to the latest stock ROM (v4.1.2). Everything is working absolutely fine but unfortunately I have one problem, I can no longer make calls or send messages. When I try to call an error/message comes up saying "Not registered on network". I only have the option "Emergency calls only".
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this issue?
edit: My simcard does work in a different phone and when I had v4.0.4 it also work perfectly.

Since then I have recovered/restored my full Nandroid backup to the point where my simcard/phone used to work perfectly normally (which is v4.0.4) and for what ever unfortunate reason this issue is still existent .
Can anyone please help me fix my issue?
Thanks!
Could it be something relating to the CSC?
I downloaded the "CSC Select" app from Google Play and from what I can see there is no CSC selected, although at the top it says Sales Code: EUR.
I did some research and found that XSA is the CSC for Australia, but it's not on the list to choose from on the "CSC Select" app.
How would I go about installing XSA to my phone?
you tried ariza patch?

Usual .
Check you have entered correct network APN settings .Or correct CSC .
Check you have a modem /change modem.
Check IMEI is correct if not restore your backed up EFS folder .

Thanks for the replies!
I used the "Ariza Patch" as Quimicax recommended and now everything is back to normal and working :victory: .

Hello! I hope i started this in the right thread?
Ive had problems with my phone lately. The problem is that i cant make phone calls and text, it says "Emergency Calls Only"
When i dial *#1234# in the dialer it says my CSC is unknown? May that be the problem?

As you dont get network, Check your imei number in about>settings. If it says unknows then you need to restore efs from a backup.

Check that your mobile account isnt limited or restricted.
Check your sim in another phone.

I had the same problem once with my phone. Turned out to be the SIM card was shot. Had to get a new SIM.
Maybe a solution
For Unknown CSC:
I had the same problem but since I used a MULTI CSC in my ROM I had to select one to be used.
So in the dialer I typed in: *#272*YOUR_IMEI_SHOULD_BE_TYPED_IN_HERE# and then select the one you want like XEH or XEU, etc.
After it the phone will reboot and maybe will do a wipe but I'm not quite sure. I cannot remember anymore.
Hope I could help.
Ive tried other sims cards inside the phone, nothing new. Ive basicly tried all the basic "trys" but nothing helped. And i dont have a EFS Folder back-up im afraid . . .
Thanks for the response!
My suggestion would be to flash a stock rom and see if it rebuilds the EFS folder .
If it does follow rule one backup your EFS zillions of posts on it .
Note
you do not give us a clue regarding firmware or what you have flashed ion the OP .

Just Change CSC to your country CSC and flash Stock Rom
Hello,
If you are facing issue about CSC than change it to your country/region specific CSC and flash stock ROM. everything will be fine than. All the Instructions and Stock Rom for specific region is given in the below link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
Note : Kindly take backup first.
Thanks,

I followed this guide ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihFRsquw_8E&feature=g-hist&context=G2816d54AHT2JnXgAAAA) to get the official ICS update.
I know the update was for Nordic countries and I live in Sweden so I flashed it through odin.
Now I can't make phone calls, send text messages or connect to my 3G network.
I asked the uploader and he said "Go in to recovery mode and wipe cache and factory reset" so I did.
The phone then started up in Polish and the problems were still there.
Can anyone help?
Try entering AP settings.
Have you checked for service, do you see your imei number in 'About Phone'?

Have you backed up your EFS folder before flashing?
What you have is a standard IMEI, meaning, that IMEI is for phones that are displayed on stores.
First, try re-flashing the package. If that doesn't work, re-flash only the modem.
If even that doesn't work, follow this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021

I dont think I have since I don't even know what an EFS folder is
I am going to try all of these.
By the way when you guys (assuming you too have an 19100 and have upgraded to the official ICS rom) press and hold the power button, do you get the menu for silent mode, 3g network, shut down etc or does it just shut down immediately?
My friend have a similar problem too, he got a problem with CSC Unknown and he can't call, text and all phone features....
The real problem where i can find the flashable CSC files because all link are dead

Well... You should ALWAYS backup your /efs folder. Your /efs folder is literally your phone and is what distinguishes a phone from a gaming mini-console
I have that menu, and I'm sitting on LPB, waiting for something more stable LPB...
Always always always backup that damn EFS folder
That imei number is a generic one so you have lost your unique number.
Try this threadhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021
There are others to search for. As a last resort search for odia. He/her has the knowledge to fix it.
Otherwise return for jtag repair.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your IMEI but I hope this will teach you to inform yourself better before doing something like flashing in the future. Anyway simply reflashing the firmware might help it, it certainly helped me twice.
If you get it back make sure you back it up, so you wont have to go through this again.. There are a bunch of apps that can do it for you so it really isnt all that hard.
Anyway, good luck!

Tried reflashing the package, and it doesn't work.
I only have one big (622 mb) .tar.md5 file, should I flash that in the modem?
I am having the exact same problem, although my IMEI number seems fine. By that I mean it is not the generic one previously posted.
I can not connect to my carrier network, or do anything else network related for that matter.
My phone also turns off when I tap the power button once, I do not get that standard menu.
Any suggestions?

Here's the fix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY9cDkj4CCw! If it works, make sure to make multiple backups of your efs folder on sd card/pc/drop box etc!! You can view your efs folder using the Root explorer app!! Here's the download link for the kTool fix: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hellcat.droiddev.ktool&hl=en! Good luck!
So I got my S3 last night. I've tried to install PureLook ROM but failed. It got stucked at 10%. I rebooted and tried again. It worked this time but now when i try to call or send a text i get this error : "not registered on network". My signal bar is full, but when i try to manually select my mobile network provider it tells me that it has no signal.. I've tried with different ROMS. I pulled the SIM out and rebooted. I've tried my SIM on another phone it works perfectly.. Please HELP!

Sadly no . I am new to all this flashing custom roms thing, and I didn't do that. A friend told me afterwards that I should have.
To be fair, if you read up on everything before flashing. You would have made a backup. I was a noob once too but I backed up my efs!

AFAIK, you can repair it only if you have a backup. (someone with far more knowledge than I may know otherwise)
Hello I have a big problem, after I installed a new and updated ROM my phone won't work on any carrier, so here's what happened:
1.I had the ROM FoxHound_Sniper_Wolf_LPD_ICS_GSII_By_SnakeS and it worked great until the GPS started failing so I decided it was time for a change (until now the phone was working flawlessly with carriers and such)
2.I first tried to install the ROM ParanoidAndroid 3+ ROM Galaxy S2 but I forgot to do a wipe first and then I wiped the phone and re-installed the ROM and it still didn't work.
3.I installed WanamLite Clean & Fast JB 4.1.2 v14.3 without errors until I tried to turn on data networking (I had my APN setup by then) and it didn't turn on so I tried calling and this would pop up:"Not registered on network".
4.I try to fix the problem by going to network providers and selecting my network provider and it said: "Unable to connect, try later", so I try selecting the automatic setting and it gave me the same error, so I kept pressing the select automatically setting until it said: "Registered on network" so I try to call again and still gives me the same error "Not registered on network".
5.I try to go back to my old ROM (FoxHound_Sniper_Wolf_LPD_ICS_GSII_By_SnakeS) and it still gave me the error "Not registered on network".
6.I also tried some other ROMs: RR_JB_V3.1.3_AOKP_4.2.1_I9100 and RootBox-JB-i9100-V4.1 and the phone still won't work.
7.I go back to the WanamLite Clean & Fast JB 4.1.2 but this time it's v14.6
PS:it says "emergency calls only" in the drop down menu
info:
county: Israel
carrier: Golan Telecom
phone status: I got it unlocked from the company Cellcom
Network mode: GSM/CDMA (Auto mode)
ROM: WanamLite Clean & Fast JB 4.1.2
Galaxy sII GT-1900T
SSN:-I900TGSMH
Can anyone help me with this please?

and when I did step 3 it was fixed but now I have the generic imei (004999010640000)
all you had to do was checking your IMEI online to see if it was blocked listed.
You now ended up with a generic IMEI.
You followed the first 3 steps right?
Please tell me you backed up the EFS folder.

Hi, here's the first time I'm posting here, I'm having a big problem with my Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 recently buyed. It's unlocked and cames with ICS 4.0.4 and I updated via Odin to 4.2.2 (XXUFME7 version)... I got the problem of "Not registered on network" and getting the message "Only emergency calls". I've tried everithing I found in the web, Ariza Patch primarily and in both ways (via CWM Recovery and via App), this did not help, made it worse, I had problems with my IMEI, but I recovered installing the XXEMG4 baseband. Note that I did not backup EFS folder because as a official ROM stock, I thought there would not be a trouble, but yes, I was a novice at this. So, I've tried EVERYTHING, I've installed a lot of ROMs (4.0.4, 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 the one I have right now) and I still having the network problem, I don't understand because I have my IMEI well (35XXX) and the serial number in "Settings > About" I think it's good because is alphanumeric but something that caught my attention is that Galaxsim Unlock app marks it as 000000, I don't know if this is a problem, I tried that app too but just to test, because as I said, my phone is unlocked and in that app also marks as unlocked.
I don't know what to do. Hope you can help me.
Sorry for my bad english.
Thanks!
