I wanted to root my s2 but am very scred of bricking it so is there a way to root it without a insecure kernel. FYI its running ICS 4.0.3

Hi All,
Instead of using CF-Root kernel to root my phone, can I use the SpeedMod(which includes root as well), or do I have to flash to CF-Root first and then re-flash to SpeedMod kernel?
Also, do you suggest I flash my Vodafone GR firmware to a stock one(KG2), prior to rooting the phone?

no, you do not need to apply if speedmod is rooted.

1st off sorry if this is the wrong place for this but i was an evo user for the past year plus and i know how to root and flash that but i just got my Sgs2 and I havent found the rooting method YET but i love this phone and would like some suggestions froms roms and rooting methods thanks
To root, you need to flash a rooted kernel (CF is closest to stock with root) through Odin.

hi. i upgraded to 4.0.3 ics and now my root is gone. what can i do? what works with ics?
root it again like you did for your earlier ROM. ( before you lost it)
