Hi guys,
I recieved my HDX yesterday and im very happy with it. But there is one thing what is very annoying - the, for my opinion - extreme loud vibration sound.
Everytime i recieved a message or call i believe everybody around me is hearing that. Do you guys feeling the same?
I had a LG Optimus Black before and this one had a very low vibration sound.
What do you think?
Well, not really with me, I mean, I get texted a lot when I'm in class, sitting one meter away from the teacher, and my phone just keeps buzzing, but the teacher doesn't even notice. Ofcourse, it could be the thickness of my pants, but most likely it's not, as It's really thin.

Nope. My DX vibration is very smooth and only I can feel it. No one else.
I suggest you take it back and insist on comparing with another DX. Also check the Q&A fori about the white noise problem. Maybe your DX has that problem also

As this is my third HTC phone, plus taking in consideration all the other phones I had, in my oppinion DesX has the smoothest vibration of all.
I agree. I had Desire S. HD2. My wife's Wildfire S. And as I type now the vibration is so smooth.

Unless it's laying on a hard surface (at which point all bets are off), I can't say I ever heard the vibration.
Ok, but i still think its too loud especially when its quite around me.
Maybe its getting better in future.

I hope not vibration is louder than sound so if vibration was quiet there is no way to hear it...

Hey people,
Maybe I need some one to talk me out of this, but some of these cons are out weighing the pros.
I love the screen size and front facing camera, I'm still in a 3g area so everything else is almost the same as the Inc, But here are my issues..
1) The Mic doesnt work when I place a call with the car stereo plugged into the Head phone jack, when I did get a Mic extention the quality of the call was really bad, My friend could hardly hear me. (This problem is the potential Deal breaker)
2) the ringer is really quiet, I missed a few calls where with the inc that woldn't have been a problem.
3) the Screen Cast only displays my creen I cannot interact with it using the mouse (I did Root the Phone using the ADB method)
4) I lost my hacked Hulu App (Great on long car trips)
5) I like the kick stand but why does it cover the speakers? (Refer to Item 2)
6) there isn't any noticible difference in speed or battery life.
I hope I'm not bumming anyone out, cos the the android is amazing for all intents and purposes, I just feeling a bit like I blew $250 for a really minor upgrade to the inc with a few extra drawbacks.
Thoughts?
No offense, but these posts are annoying, it's your decision, its your phone. If you don't feel its worth it, go back. You should have done your research, we all knew it would be like a giant incredible, just little faster and bigger, and that's exactly what it is. Now that i play with my wife's incredible, it feels like a toy now next to the Thunderbold, it feels so much cheaper, and god does the screen look small now.

Edit: If you really aren't happy with it, put it on eBay/Craigslist/xda market for $450+ dollars. Profit made, no harm done.
Who would of thought people would be leaving the Incredible HD to go back to the normal one?
If you really feel that way just return it. You shouldn't feel compelled to keep it or feel bad. Later if you feel differently buy it again. I too felt bad about leaving tmobile but this network is much better.

You have 14 days, stop complaining about how you don't like a phone, on a message board for said phone, and take it back then...
I apologise if I came off as whining about the TB, I didn't mean to annoy anyone..
Like I said the Android is fantastic and I honestly do love the phone, I suppose I'm looking for some reasurance that these issues that have been talked about for the most part are going to be addressed/Fixed..
I paid 175 and I love it verizon even waved my 35 dollar activation fee.
I played with every phone I could get my hands on and I like this one best.
The couple other phones I did actually buy and went into contract with were promptly returned without regret.
I'm still on my nexus one and can't find anything I feel is better than it. I've been very close to buying the inspire multiple times now. Your incredible is basically a nexus one.
Might look into a hearing aid? My ringer is loud as hell.
Mic should be patched this month. Ringer is loud as bell for me. Your volume up? I thought I read hulu app is working. No idea about screencast. Bottom line: these are all software issue, which get fixed.

If you're looking for someone to talk you out of it, I doubt you'll find anyone that will. It's your phone, if you like it, keep it, if you don't, send it back. Very cut and dry.
Anyone having a buzzing sound in their earpiece? Sounds like the little metallic screen is buzzing away when someone is speaking and the louder the volume as they talk the louder the vibrating noise is. Just wondering is anyone else has the issue.
EDIT:
Just checked again with a phone call and by applying pressure to the area of the earpiece speaker makes the buzzing go away. Now the wife is pissed because this is her mother's day present to shut her up from complaining about her OG Evo..... damn the luck, lots of complaining ahead now.... hahahaha.... oh well....
Not I. I just had one of the clearest sounding phone calls I've ever had on a cell phone.

I do agree though, when I apply pressure it does have a nice sounding call quality. Makes me want to give up my SE4GT.... what a killer screen!
I have made quite a few calls with mine already and they have been clear as can be, I am completely impressed. Is it like that on every call or intermittently? Perhaps if it was just one call, maybe it was the other persons phone and not yours.

Unfortunately each call we tested has been this way. She said it happened all day when she tried it as well. hmmmmm.....
Got my replacement phone today and of course it has a phone speaker that constantly buzzes regardless of volume. Go figure, I can't win with this phone!
Going to take it into a Sprint store tomorrow to see if they can repair it otherwise I am going to demand a new phone since I know they will have them in stock with the Saturday launch.

It's crystal clear... Until you drop signal from the Sprint tower, lol. Not docking the phone. Sprint service has gone down hill over the past few years
My wife wants the Sony Xperia S. Prob because it looks nice (thats women for you lol). Im interested to hear what exhisting owners think about the device. Both Pluses and minus of owning this device please. Nice little read and very well written. Have you had any issues with it dying on you? What about multitasking? Fiddly?

Well, thanks. Well, multitasking its really good, but some apps really use lot of RAM, so you may see some stuttering once a while. If I understood, the phone will be for your wife. Try asking her permission to root and remove some bloatware she may not use. About dying, I was kinda surprised, sometimes it stopped working and I had to reset it. I'm not sure if it was my fault of heavy usage or its some problem with it. But, if she is like most users, she will use it for some browsing, calls messages and Facebook, the phone is great. Loud and clear calls. I heavily recommend it

Sweet! thanks Felimenta97
funny my wife has a sensation and thinks my xs is ugly, typical woman lol!
to compare the 2 (both rooted on ics) i find the xs much quicker and smoother, the screen is amazing. camera not many features but picture quality is brilliant.
the only negatives, for me, about the xs are the non physical buttons take a bit of getting used to (no problem now), the power / screen lock button is in a ridiculous position (screen off & lock app solves half the problem) and because of the size of the screen not always easy to reach far corners one handed.
also battery life is slightly worse than sensation, not a huge difference, but noticeable.
so maybe take her to a store see if she likes the feel of it, because performance wise it is an amazing phone.

No need. Of course they need to be clean, but that doesn't mean you have to wash your hands everytime you will pick up the phone. If you (or she) want to do a quick clean, make your shirt a little "humid" and clean the back of the phone. Once a while, use a soft cloth.

I've read all the goodies on how fast the phone is and what not, but I'm wondering how well it performs as a phone? Does it pull in a signal well? Is it able to make calls where other phones couldn't, or drops calls where other phones would hold? For reference, I'm coming from an Atrix 4G
So far so great

I had read some of the same reviews where they said the phone was less than stellar from a call quality pov on ATT. I've had this a week and all the calls I have made sound perfectly fine. I think it really depends on the signal quality from ATT. The background noise suppression works really well in my car while on bluetooth - my wife really noticed how much easier it was to hear me (coming from a Captivate).

I've had the phone for just over 2 weeks. I too came from the atrix 4G. Call quality is completely standard, nothing to write home about but compared to the atrix I get a much stronger signal in locations where it was previously spotty and I haven't had any dropped calls yet.
Speakerphone on mine is absurdly loud.. to the point of almost being useless indoors. Even at the lowest volume.

lol I noticed this too. I thought something was wrong with the volume. Even on the lowest setting, its really damn loud.

Yeah and it gets worse the smaller the room is. Worse is probably a bad word for it. I think it just need a little fine tuning.
Call quality is not great and speaker is not loud enough. I have an iphone 5 and Lumia 920 as well, the Lumia has the best call quality of all the three and Optimus G is the worst.
I dunno call quality is fine on mine. No better or worse then my last couple phones.

I found the same thing when the phone isn't on my desk facing up. I think they did this because the speaker is severely hampered when face up on a flat surface. So to combat this, they upped the volume to compensate.
Coming from a gs2, signal stregnth is not only faster but stronger too. Didn't make any long enough phonecalls to judge audio quality but I know from playing videos that the external speaker is kind of weak

I ended up getting one on Saturday. My experiences are it's been just fine. It holds calls where I'd expect. Things sound fine on my end and haven't really heard any complaints from the person I'm talking to.
I think it works fine, as good or better than the inspire. I'm rooted and unlocked and have used volume plus for years, and at plus 10 its pretty loud. Speakerphone is very loud. I'm impressed with the volume its capable of pushing when it's not constrained by "hearing protection" limitations, although I look forward to aosp so I can figure out how to lower the minimum speaker phone volume and vastly increase the resolution of the phone volume selection

I came from an inspire as well and I feel that this a huge upgrade, not just a better version. My inspire was rooted and running viper Rom and as soon as I got this phone I found myself getting annoyed by how slow the inspire felt. It was there years old so I do give it some credit, but the lgog is just such a great phone all around. I'd get it over any other phone, especially if Amazon still has it listed as 99.99 because any best buy will match it.

Hey all, just wanted to ask if anyone else had a One X+ with an extremely loud vibration mechanism. My girlfriend just purchased a new HTC One X+ on AT&T, and while she's loving the phone so far, the vibration is shockingly loud on it. It's also more.. high pitched (for lack of a better way to describe it) than any other vibration I've experienced. My Droid DNA's vibration is virtually silent, and I had expected the One X+'s to be similar. Is anyone else experiencing this or is her unit defective?
tl;dr: When the phone vibrates, it buzzes really loudly. Is this a defective unit or are they all like this?
Thanks!

The vibration is pretty loud, although there is a bit of variation. I am on my second HOX+ and it is not as loud as the first. My first one had a strong rattling noise almost like something was lose in the phone as soon as it was vibrating.I think it is not a defect.

Yeah, it's not quite that bad where there's a rattling noise, but it's essentially as loud as the ringtone itself lol. I was just surprised at how loud it was, and I'm trying to determine if it's worth getting it exchanged.. most stores in the area are sold out of it so it would be pretty difficult.
Not sure what rattling are U talking about but maybe source of rattling noise during vibration was the same as here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34789475&postcount=8

It's not rattling for me, it's just making a loud buzzing noise. Granted, it's a solid-sounding buzz, but still..
