Today, my Touchpad fell facedown on the floor, and unfortunately its screen cracked Now the touchscreen is not responding although the device still works. The worst part is that the crack is not on the outermost part of the screen since the cracks couldn't be felt while running my hands over the screen. Is there any way to repair it ?
Thanks

Here is where you can buy a replacement:
Could also try and get ahold of Rod Whitby of webOS Internals. Not sure if he has done a screen replacement, but I bet he would have disassembled one before.

You won't know how to replace it your self, plus - the razr is one of the hardest phones when it comes to a full dismantle if you've cracked the LCD. I would say, send it to motorola

One of the hardest? It's actually really easy but you lose the water proof. The screen and digitizer is one piece making it a very easy replacement.
Try replacing a digitizer only on a nexus one or hd2 compared to them the razr is child's play

I would like to keep it water proof....can I purchase both pieces in tact?

If you want to keep it water proof and make sure it has gorilla glass send it to Motorola. If you try fixing it yourself, and something else gets broken, you've voided your warranty.
I sent a RAZR MAXX to Motorola to have a broken screen replaced. They "misplaced" the phone and couldn't find it. So they waived the repair cost. ($179) I did finally get my phone back, fixed. 11 days after they received it, good as new warranty intact.
Compared to a any other 4.3 device..i would say this is the hardest
Just wanna say the phone is not water proof its water resistant at best.

This sucks lol well still love my RAZR if I cannot find a screen/digitizer combo for a reasonable price ill just send it to Motorola ....does it matter if its rooted or will I have to flash to stock first ?

Well I dropped my phone 2 feet out the car door and the glass smashed. Ugh! Seems that the phone is pretty new so the only option I can find to get it fixed is to send it back to HTC.
Anyone got any other suggestions? Links? Cause I'm coming up dry and getting it done is $$$.
Either you can repair yourself, send it into HTC to get it repaired or you can send it to a phone repair place.

True.
HTC wants Min $199 and 4 - 6 weeks to repair the glass.
I can't seem to find the parts or a DIY article for the phone.
So far no luck talking to Phone Repair. They don't have the parts. Going to keep looking but if you know of a place or two please let me know.
In theory wouldn't the glass panel from an HTC One X (original) work? They are the exact same size and form factor. Don't know about the LCD (same specs but not sure about connectors inside) but the glass panel should work.
That would be good news for me but I have not found that to be true or false yet.

Pretty sure there was another thread that confirm this the displays are identical as long as the connectors are the same it should work I don't see why not

ok. that is GREAT! HAPPY news. I was not interested in pay $199 bucks for new glass :/
I recently broke mine as well. Since my LCD seems fine should i just replace the touchscreen glass digitizer?
Yep

It's much cheaper just getting the digitizer

Agreed. I so don't want to DIY this one.
Most sites come with an instruction video

Is there any specific LCD I should get? I see some on eBay for cheap but they are unbranded. Are they the same quality?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
I would go with an actual repair site. Better quality. Plus you can contact them if you run into any trouble

I know from the one xl forums it's super hard to seperate the LCD and digitizer..a lot of people over there ended up buying both together...

I have had my HOX+ for about a month and love it. But there is a problem on the back of my phone there is a million scratches it seems even rubbing your finger on it gives it more scratches and scuffs has anyone else noticed this. I also have kept it in a otter box for most of its life and just took it out about a week ago.
Mine has scuffs too. My phone fits so snugged on the case that it gets scratched by it :'(

My case also scratches my phone
Ya I'll just live with it just kind of annoying to me how heasily it scratches

AW: Scuffs on Back
I have my device without a case in my pocket or on the desk and can until now just detect tiny scratches when I look close enough. Only thing that scratches easily for me is the camera cover, probably the any glare coating...

Same here. The only time I got a scratch is when I dropped it and somehow it molded back as if there is no scratch? I've had my phone for about 3 months without a screen protector and case - so far so good!

Well, I have a case mate barely there and it is a pain to remove when I want to clean any dust accumulation. It's so tight that removing the case can scratch the the side of the phone.
Never dropped my phone either.

I thought I saw a thread about this but I can't find it Anywho, my phone has a speck in the speaker and it won't come out. Just one hole in the top that looks white. Contrasts with my black HTC One. Womp. Is there any way to prevent more?
Vacuum that sucker out
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I've got the same thing going on. I tried duster and a safety pin. next step us to try a commercial grade vacuum. My wife has a silver one and you can't see anything through her holes. It's much more prevalent in the black .

So my DNA was sitting on the bedside table last night and my girls cat pulled the charger cable and knocked it off of the table. When it fell it hit the leg of the table on the top left-hand corner and shattered the screen. I am having digitezer issues now and it is very annoying. Does anyone know where I can get the screen replaced? If that's even possible.
Thanks for any help.

They sell DIY kits on eBay, but most cell repair places should be able to do it.
P.S. you can never trust a cat

Damn it. These screens must be made of glass! I don't think I've ever heard of screen breaking as easily.
There's lots of threads and tutorials and videos on screen replacement.
You think it's worth trying to do it myself? I used to work in a cell phone repair shop but never done anything like the DNA

It doesn't appear too bad to do. I'd suggest getting a "frame" and the adhesive as well. Separating them seems to be the hardest step.
Also get a tool kit.
