[Q] Ditching SVoice for Voice Dialing via Bluetooth? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I posted this on other Android message boards, but I didn't get much of a response, so I'm trying it here. Here's my issue - when I try to use the voice dialing via Bluetooth headset, the phone uses SVoice to try and detect what I want to do and who I want to call. 99% of the time, I'm trying to call my fiance. So far, SVoice has failed to recognize her name 100% of the time. I realize it's a hard name to pick up (it's an Asian name) but Google was able to recognize it 100% of the time when doing the exact same thing on the exact same bluetooth headset 100% of the time correctly.
Is there a way to NOT use SVoice and instead use the built in Google Voice recognition on our Note2's?

[Q] App/Tool to detect "silent sms" existing or possible?

Hello,
I've read quite a bit about the so called silent sms or stealth sms which can be send to your phone to track you down and which do not show up as actual sms received.
I already did an intensive search for an app or something to detect those sms - they have to be recognized by the phone somehow, so there must be a way to get this information and display it to the user doesnt it?
I'm pretty sure there would be plenty of interest for an app like that, but since I have no clue where to start I'm askin here for help.
Is there any tool out there that could achieve this? Are silent sms registered in the Android System at all so that they could be detected?
Hope someone can enlighten me a bit.

discussed this topic with some people in the past. I think you need a baseband change to detect, and most basebands are proprietary

Did anyone tried this application?

Hi, after installing a JB ROM, did anyone tried this application?
Utter!
I actually need some help in setting up the application for offline voice recognition. I can't even get google offline typing to work as well. It needs internet connectivity to work. Any help will be appreciated.
EDIT:
I've un installed google search and voice search and re-installed them from play store. Now Google offline typing works well. I need help in setting up utter for offline

pointless post, fair enough he could search but also you couldve explained more about the rule/guidelines.also its said that if you have not anything useful to post then dont
- to the O.P i think you need to look in your messages folder and its somewhere along the lines of service messages that will need disabling
Was not talking about the first rule. People should not post before reading the rules, there's nothing pointless about that
pointless as in meaning your not helping anyone in any way,let the moderators do there job and if you get the urge to help them then rightfully press the report button and report it,
Thanks to the person that actually helped. Looking into it that way. The other guy, don't mini-mod.. He's right, if you want to report the post, go for it - otherwise don't try bump your post count up here.
Cheers
I'm also getting this. turned off all mobile broadcast options in settings and still getting them. they are only area codes like 020 or 0170 etc. or strings of area codes like that. quite annoying
Suggest one of the CM discussion threads .

Turn alert notification ON in mobile broadcast but untick everything else.
I have no idea why it's backwards, it just is.
Had the same problem (in UK too). Quick googling suggested to delete "Mobile Broadcast Receiver" application. Since then no broadcasts anymore!

[Q] Can't figure out how to make VLINGO my default

Hello,
I'm still testing out the S4. With the Svoice it always confirms the person I want to call even when it has it right. I can't figure out how to disable voice confirmation as it seems to NOT understand when I say yes on the confirmation.
I installed VLINGO which on my old android and it automatically became the default but I can't figure out how to make it the default voice interpretation app when I click on my BT headset.
I ONLY use voice from BT to make calls from my existing contacts, I don't want to know the weather, I don't need it to search the web for people's contact info, I really just would love reliable and simple voice dial.
Thanks
Did you clear defaults from S Voice?

I've given up on VLINGO - I checked and it isn't BT activated currently. I tried a few other items and they don't seem to work properly on the S4 - possibly a newer version of Android issue.
I just have to find out if there is a way to disable the confirm on dial in S voice.

S Voice

My last device was a Nexus S 4G which allowed me to long press the button on my headset to voice dial. It also gave feedback like when it expected me to talk and what it thought I said, example;
<long press>
"voice dialing"
"speak now"
me "call soandso"
"calling soandso" OR "call soandso on work or mobile?"
etc
It seems like with S Voice there is no feedback, you just about have to look at the screen in order to use it which seems like it defeats the purpose. Am I missing something in the settings here? I disabled the app and it reverts back to something similar to what I am used to but I am just wondering what other people think about it/do about it.

Seems to me there are a couple of settings that control voice feedback. One of them is the little face icon on the lower left I think.
