[Q] Australian Galaxy SIII I9300 - Optus/Voda/Other - Help flashing international FW - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm using an Australian Optus-branded Galaxy SIII model I9300. I've just received the JB 4.1.1 update OTA and Samsung have still not brought back the ability to edit the homescreen dock apps, or mute the camera shutter. If there is a way to fix this that anyone knows of, please help!
Otherwise, if someone could point me to the right thread to explain how to flash the international unbranded Jelly Bean firmware onto my phone, without voiding my warranty if possible, I would be eternally grateful.
Sorry if I shouldn't be posting here, I don't post in forums often.

[Q] help, can't get my original model number back

Hello
I have a problem with my galaxy S2 and would like to know how to fix this issue.
I been searching on the web for several days and just cant figure it out on my own. If any out there know how to fix the problem, please HELP ME!!!
The issue is that I bought a SC-02c (Japanese version) and tried putting custom roms. For some odd reason, when i start the phone up, it used to say" NTT Docomo SC-02C" but now it says "Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100"(what would appear on the international version). when I look at the phone status, it says model GT-I9100.
My question is, is there a way to return my phone to its original model(Sc-02c)?
In fact, if there is a way to factory rest my phone to its original state, please tell me how to fix this issue.
thanks in advance
P.S. if i happened to thread in a wrong place, please let me know where to post.

Stock ICS for Virgin/Bell

Hi guys, I'm looking for the stock ICS firmware for my Virgin Galaxy S2 (i9100/m).
Went into the thread with the collaboration of stock firmware but the downloads have been removed for both bell and virgin. Can someone point me to the right direction for the stock rom? Or any rom that's close to stock?
According to my copy of Checkfus, there is no official/stock ICS for I9100M/Bell Canada. If you're after a copy of Gingerbread firmware for this carrier/country, search Samfirmware.com
The last and likely only firmware for Bell/Virgin/Sasktel GT I9100Ms was UGKG2 (2.3.3), if you want ICS you'd be better served by downloading a european stock or custom ICS ROM as Bell has never expressed any interest in doing further updates for this phone.

As I said here, The Galaxy SII for Virgin Mobile in the US is NOT the i9100 or i9100M. It is the SPH-D710, otherwise known as the Epic 4G Touch. anyone looking for stuff for a Virgin Mobile US Galaxy SII is in the wrong forum.

you could start with this one: http://androidfact.com/how-to-update-galaxy-s3-to-jelly-bean-411-official-version/ (I know it shows 4.1.1 but its the same process for any update if your phone is not rooted)
The "About" section in your settings will also show you the firmware version, hence the region the firmware was made for.

Flash stock rom via Odin after reading the basic faqs and guides all stickied in General section .

It is very normal, it has to be updating one at the time, consider there are millions S3 out there,. If all of them start to update at once, no server on the face of the earth can stand that much of downloading stress.
Well, maybe they using BT or other P2P way to downloading update, but who knows, besides as you can get here around XDA, I am sure you will be able to flash the lastest update yourself

[Q] Samsung galaxy s2 to jelly bean

Hi I purchased my s2 recently brand new from someone who unlocked on craigslist *he got refurb one, because he was buying s3*
I believe he unlocked it as well as the phone is rooted - Works with Virgin Mobile carrier (Bell) Canada (I am not sure if I need to unlock again after installing jelly bean)
My current version is gingerbread and I am wanting to upgrade it to jelly bean.
Samsumg kies is not working to upgrade, I am assuming due to the phone being rooted/setting changes by the guy who sold the phone.
I need to manually install jelly bean but I want to confirm its correct version ect.
NOTE: I have the box/manual for the phone, it states GT-I9100M not just I9100, but inside my phone it says my phone is I9100 , I am not sure if this is because the previous owner installed a different rom for gingerbread or not.
my CSC: I9100XEUKD1 (which appears the be UK- but I live in Canada, not sure if I need to change this or not)
I would appreciate a link to a tutorial and some of my questions answered, like my phone being i9100m vs i9100, It would make sense since I am Canadian, as well as my CSC code being uk.
I would highly appreciate answers/tutorial link for my situation
Thanks,
David.
