Yes I know there is Gen.Y DualBOOT out since January, 2010, a bootlauncher application for Windows Mobile. It is not designed to be used with landscape oriented touchscreen devices running Windows (Embedded) CE - as this is the case with many SatNav units. Also, for me, it is not generic enough, ex. drive names where an Android installation is searched for, are hardcoded. Hence I decided to 're-code' this bootloader in MortScript, so that each one can modify the code on the fly, if needed. I named the project 'OSLoader'.

Be aware, 'OSLoader' is only a bootlauncher application, so that you still need to provide a suitable Android on your CE device for yourself.
And, as it is with Gen.Y DualBOOT too, actually 'HaRET' is used to boot Android.
Important Note:
Besides the fact you need to provide a suitable Android on your CE device for yourself - the Android distribution that comes with 'OSLoader' only serves demonstration purposes, it doesn't make any sense to try to get Android running on Windows (Embedded) CE via 'HaRET', if you can't obtain a copy of CE's main display driver as named in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\Drivers\MainDisplay, (perhaps using tool 'NDumpCE' by ablbd and renaming this 'ddi.dll' to 'ace_ddi.dll' ) this because 'HaRET' (at least all its current available versions I've used) expects library 'ace_ddi.dll' (a Samsung's main display driver) to be present in device's folder \Windows. Of course 'OSLoader' comes with a 'ace_ddi.dll' replacement...
'OSLoader' is still under development. It may be incomplete, may contain bugs. Please feel free to report any bugs, suggest any improvements.

Installation Instructions:
Unpack .ZIP to root of SD-card. Run <sd-card>\OSLoader\OSLoader.exe
FAQ:
1. How does HaRET work?
As I understand it, the Android port you privide IS NOT A ROM. Hence you copy the Rootfs, Kernel and HaRet to the SD-card and run it. No flashing at all. HaRET unloads Windows (Embedded) CE and starts Android. The internal storage is mounted under Android as a normal partition. After a soft-reset (warm-boot) it returns to Windows (Embedded) CE automatically. So no flashing and no formatting with different filesystem.
2. What is the correct machine type ID for my device?
Honestly I don't know this. AFAIK a generic machine type isn't defined here. If you don't find a valuable identifier please feel free to register your device with http://www.arm.linux.org.uk/developer/machines/ and then use the machine type ID assigned.
hmm gonna give it a try
Awesome! this will work on all devices with windows ce 6.0?
I've looking for running Android on my Toshiba Journe Touch with windows ce 6.0 but I've never found anyone who port Android to this device so I will try you work!
I would like to have Android, whichever (donut, froyo...) would be better than windows ce

If you mean 'OSLoader' itself, then the answer is YES. If you mean the applied Android distribution, then the answer is I DON'T KNOW.

It would be awesome if this worked on the dead Zune HD.
FYI:
Found the display driver 'ace_ddi.dll' HaRET stupidly is searching for here:

HTH
I have a HTC HD "blackstone", I can use this program? in your opinion what is the best way to turn my Blackstone in an android phone?
'OSLoader' is a bootlauncher, not a bootloader, as this is with 'HaRET' which is called by 'OSLoader' to boot Windows (Embedded) CE and/or Windows Mobile in Android.
If you know of
1. an Android port that is compiled for a HTC HD "blackstone", and
2. the machine type identifier that matches your HTC or at least comes closest to it
then you should be able to run Android on top of Windows Mobile using 'OSLoader', IMHO ...
Perhaps this helps you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=577

Can't confirm OSLoader runs flawlessly on your Toshiba G910 (running Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Professional). Why not simply try it out? OSLoader affects nothing.
Thanks, I will try
My device will not brick because OS Loader works from the SDcard...

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to cure a dead Google Sooner EXCA300, the problem is the same as this post,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5712731
the reason cause it dead is I erase System Data and User Data on the phone, because is too slow.
I tried to connect to Ubuntu 9.10, and failed before.
and today I tried to start the phone with Power button + Home button, and now I can use linux commands, and already CD to the Storage Card, So can anyone help me to upload the list files, appreciate.
I'm a Windows Mobile user and just turned to Android, someone help me.

Hey Guys, that's what I tried to connect to Ubuntu.
I tried to connect Sonner on Ubuntu 9.10, command as following, and new problem is my Ubuntu can detect Sonner as 18d1:d00d, and when I run run ./adb devices, nothing listed, and sure that when I typed run ./adb shell, it said no devices found.
■Install Ubuntu Ubuntu
■The version of Ubuntu shouldn't matter. However, our Dev enviornment was tested with Ubuntu 8.10 Server
■Once Ubuntu is installed with the default settings we'll need to edit some system settings to allow the OS to talk with the Sooner Mobile Device.
■touch /etc/udev/rules.d/50-android.rules
■Add the line SUBSYSTEM=="usb", SYSFS{idVendor}=="18d1", MODE="0666" where 18d1 is the item listed under lsusb
■chmod a+rx /etc/udev/rules.d/50-android.rules
■Run this as root /etc/init.d/udev restart
■Java for Development
■apt-get install sun-java6-jdk
■apt-get install sun-java6-bin
■sudo update-java-alternatives -s java-6-sun
■Type java -version and javac -version
■It should state Java(TM). The output for javac will just list the version number.
■The Ubuntu OS should now be able to detect the device
■Plug the phone into the computer.
■Type lsusb
■Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
■Bus 001 Device 012: ID 18d1:deed
■Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0e0f:0002
■Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
■The device ID of 18d1 is the HTC Sooner Device
■Install the Google Android SDK
■From the Android SDK installation directory i.e. /android_sdk_linux_m3-rc22a/tools run ./adb devices
■It should list something similar to
1 53590a1587035cc9 device 0
■To access the Sooner Phone type ./adb shell
my sooner has the same problem like you,hope you can solve it

Introduction and Warning:
Asteroid OS is a Free Open Source alternative operating system for smartwatches. It utilizes libhybris to ensure maximum compatibility with the watch. The OS team is currently looking for active contributors to make it grow (more info at the project's webpage: http://asteroidos.org/). The OS is NOT based on Android wear and is currently in an Alpha Phase, has limited functions, applications and customizability so flash at your own risk. The current build is mostly meant for developers rather than end-users, so these images in no way reflect the finished Asteroid OS. I take no responsibility for what happens by the use of this software. By using the method bellow you don't flash Asteroid but rather run it side by side with Android wear. Essentially you place the OS file inside the watch and fastboot into it. This way Android Wear stays installed and you can test Asteroid. Asteroid at its current phase is not meant as a daily OS as it has bugs and issues, one of them being that the bluetooth doesn't work (so you can't pair it with your phone). I simply made a build of the OS, credit goes to the creator and the contributors, I can only provide you with builds, installation instructions and answers on a few questions, nothing more.

Outdated Personal Build of mine (lacks newer build features):
Asteroid Image
Boot Image
Instructions:
1. Make sure you have an ADB installation (Minimal adb and fastboot should do) and your watches' bootloader is unlocked and debugging is enabled from the settings.
2. Download the two files in the download section and place them in the same folder and connect the watch to the computer
3. Open up the command prompt (cmd) and navigate to that folder
4. Issue these commands:
adb push asteroid-image-dory.ext2 /sdcard/linux/rootfs.ext2
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot zImage-dtb-dory.fastboot
5. The watch will reboot into Asteroid OS. Every time you want to boot into asteroid you have to issue the last two commands or else you will boot into android wear normally.
Removal Instructions:
Just open up cmd, connect the watch to the computer and issue this command: adb shell rm "/sdcard/linux/rootfs.ext2"

screenshots/photo ?
Any screenshots or demo videos? Can't find any on Google or the official project site.
Sent from my SM-G900P using XDA Free mobile app
Screenshots, video etc can be found in the Twitter account ( @ asteroidos).
Images?
According to twitter, don't bother trying these images as it takes over three minutes to boot and there are no apps.
I uploaded a video showing Asteroid booting up for anyone interested.
Why would I destroy my perfectly fine watch with absolutely pointless OS, which does nothing, doesn't allow me to get notifications and has no apps?
Why such negativity over something that is pre-alpha? The OP even said, this is more for developers than for end users.
Once a few iterations are out, say when the BT stack is up, and some apps available I'd be keen on checking it out and dual-booting into it. For now, I'll be keeping a watch on it.
Keep fighting the hard fight @CedArctic!
This is definitely great to see. A fully capable linux OS on the watch. Btw OP, does it use Wayland or Mir for the display server since it's built on QT (going off what I know of Ubuntu Touch which uses QT/Mir)?
I downloaded the image but haven't messed with it just yet, the rootfs is on my watch waiting for me to boot it with fastboot. I'm excited to see how this turns out. Any idea on how it will communicate with the mobile device through Bluetooth yet, or is that still in the planning stages as you work on the UI?

I believe it uses the Mir server. As far as I know the watch will connect via bluetooth. Though I am not the developer of this operating system, that's kido. So don't really know much . For now I just make builds of it.

Ah thanks for the information. I'm really looking forward to seeing this grow, I love watching alternative operating systems for my devices ^_^
Once it has more work done on it, I could see it becoming a pretty neat project.
Great work bro, keep it up

This isn't a version of Android. It is a Linux based operating system that can run on the G Watch as a (in the future) replacement OS for android. So no, playstore does not work.

Couldn't have said it better but if we gain apps with functionality then it's going to be something
like many, i am getting this error. i have a built PC with a Ryzen 7 2700X. I think there might be a BIOS setting to enable TPM, but I haven't checked yet. Anyone else run into this?

Maybe you need to enable it on the BIOS. UEFI or Legacy?
Just run tpm.msc and it should give you status of TPM. If your PC supports it and it's in disabled state you can enable it from BIOS as earlier post suggests
Not sure which MBD you have but it's in the BIOS for sure. I had to search to find it on my ASUS MBD.
I'm excited to try windows 11 but my machine is very old i7-4720 and don't have TPM 2.0, i know there is workaround, when i saw the UI and android app via amazon store will be available later, i'm very excited.
Is there anyone try windows 11 without TPM 2.0 with just modified registry in set up installer? (without replace dll or install.wim/esd)
Windows 11 installed fine on my cheap HP desktop.

What processor does your desktop have? I have an Intel i5 7th Gen and the PC Health Check says I'm not compatible....
I am using ryzen 5 2500u based netbook and it supports tpm 2.0 (checked using tpm.msc) but still compatibility checker says cannot run w11
Did you try WhyNotWin11? It says exactly what is missing based on the official release. Download it from here.
Cheers.

You need to enable fTPM in BIOS. It's somewhere in Security or Advanced section in your BIOS. I had to do the same with 3600.
Not all CPUs are compatible with that, and not all the manufacturers give the option to enable TPM. Lets bypass it, shall we? Create a new txt file anywhere on your pc and open it. After that, add the following lines:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig] “BypassTPMCheck”=dword:00000001 “BypassSecureBootCheck”=dword:00000001
Save the file, and then rename it, just remove the "txt" and replace it with "reg". Open the file and BOOM. The setup should work.

I used that too to check compatibility.
Yea I've seen that, it came up after it ran a check to see if I can upgrade and said my puter wasn't able to get Win 11....
Funny thing is I'm already running Windows 11 so not sure how to explain that....
1: Create your own installation media
2: The steps necessary to remove the "Secure Boot" and "TPM 2.0" requirements error when attempting to install Windows 11
3: Obtain the newest available Windows 10 ISO from Micro$0ft;
Already have made your Windows 11 USB Installer using Rufus;
Mount Windows 10 ISO;
Find and locate the folder named Sources on the mounted ISO;
Copy all of the files in the Sources folder of the mounted ISO except for install.wim/install.esd;
Navigate to the Windows 11 bootable USB Installer that you have previously created in your File Manager;
Open the Sources folder on the Windows 11 bootable USB Installer;
Paste the previously copied contents/files from the Sources folder on the mounted Win 10 ISO to the Sources folder of the Windows 11 bootable USB Installer, and make sure to replace the files present in the Windows 11 USB Installer Sources folder;
Boot from Windows 11 USB Installer;
Profit from not having the requirements of Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 being enabled in place.
For more deatils hereis detailed tutorial. Link.
Interesting. Has anyone actually tried this method with success?
I'll give it a try
I remember very similar pains when Windows 10 first released. I think everything will be fine for the most part as long as your machine can run Windows 10. Not much is different between the two.
Thank you thank you thank you I thought I was screwed too I've got an old optiplex 790 with a Intel i5 4 series and I just booted all I did was change the registry through the BIOS on the front end during the install which means I made the ISO file for USB UEFI boot I got the error saying that my machine hardware was not suitable for Windows 11 so I hit shift and F10 to command prompt and entered notepad because I already copied the registry into a text document that's accessible from the file menu in the notepad never done that before and that was pretty cool..copied it and then went back to the command prompt and went to the regedit.exe... copy what I had on the the text document into the actual local registry and then started the install process all over and Golden... I had to actually download the ISO file from Android host file of all places checksum good worked out everything's even better when I can beat the status quo

Hello,
Here are some Virtual Machines with Modded Windows Preinstalled (JROM)...
Password is 0110
VIDEO DEMONSTRATION:
VIDEO IS IN REAL TIME, HOST PC IS ON JROM-WIN10.
LEFT VM IS WIN10, RIGHT VM IS WIN11R00T.
Download Virtualbox:

Has Android Subsystem Installed. WSA isn't fully functional in the VM for reasons I haven't figured out yet.
At least on AMD... If Anyone has any Ideas, please reach out~!
Also has brave browser, ADB, Apk installation, and subsystem dependencies preinstalled.
I am taking a break from this project, but will come back to this project to fix WSA in the VM.
Unless a Superstar can Beat me to it ;-)

IMO far easier is to install Genymotion - an x86-64 emulator based on Virtualbox - what offers Android images up to Android 11.

I've been on Genymotion since 6 years ago and completely disagree. It is a terrible service that CHARGES you to have to do everything you can do for free if you build your own emulator or even use nox or bluestacks and ROOT them and debug THEIR LAUNCHER to CLEAN Them.
I created scripts when GENYMOTION first came out to help get the play store installed and remove bad apps, etc.
They are Greedy as are Most these Emulator Makers

That's really weird: I'm using Genymotion since years, too, and I never had to pay for anything.

Perhaps they changed it, it was originally free, then they started incorporating stupid pay walls, like charging you to change the IMEI, and eventually getting rid of their "free" personal use option after folks like me showed how to do this for free.
I guess the free option is back but the company as a whole left a sour taste in my mouth, when you can make anything they can with knowledge on gapps and android firmware, or different operating systems to use our apps entirely, like Lineage and Ubuntu-Touch
So what took me several days to figure out on windows, took me an hour to figure out on linux... And behold, Anbox is installed, in a virtual machine running Lubuntu... tee hee! Lemme do some testings... things.. yeah

edit--- fixed the tpm settings,, will be updating the virtual machine and this guide shortly
Google Drive links have been added for all machines. The Mega Mirrors are uploading now. . .
Had to roll with Google first bc Mega is being... wonky.
For future reference if you haven't already figured it out yet, your processor and your hypervisor both need to support Nested VT-x (Nested Virtualization) for WSA to execute in a VM. This is because both Windows Subsystem for Linux and Windows Subsystem for Android use the Hyper-V hypervisor to accomplish booting their respective Linux kernels and userspace up. They no longer use the syscall translation driver, which would've worked under a VM.
Btw, what did you find the most troublesome about the installation of WSA? I found it was remarkably straightforward to install even from APPX (or in my case since I'm using a modified WSA with Google Services, an unpacked APPX).

Oooohhhh Thank You~! I will research this further within the VM.
Honestly I didn't find anything difficult, other than finding out from start to finish how to do everything I wanted to do. So it's just amazing to have the Internet, Forums, Nerds that Make Websites, stuff like that to help make, idk, a guide or instructions? to make things easier.
Also really grateful for the software engineers that continue to implement such innovations, even though I jest by calling it "suboptimal" I'm sorry but ""WSA""~~~ wINDoehz.. ya set yourselves up for that one ;-)
