Have you tried to get there via hboot? DO you have TWRP on your phone? if you don't have TWRP get "goo manager" from the play store, you can put twrp on your phone that way, if you do have twrp boot into bootloader and try to go to recovery from there. Any rom you flash will give you root, as long as it's a custom rom

When you go to bootloader, and then select recovery, what is it doing?

Red Triangle

Stock recovery, you need to reflash twrp. Go to Teamwin and download the update for twrp

go to my thread. follow every step. I guarantee this works even on the new hboot 2.09:

Go to twrp site and download the latest image which is 1.1.1.img and flash it using fastboot all should be well.
If you HTC unlocked, you have to flash everything other than ROMs through fastboot.
That means kernels, recoveries, splash screens, etc. have to flashed through fastboot.
In your case you would download the twrp 1.1 image and enter 'fastboot flash recovery twrp.img'

Please help. Ran ota with custom recovery.

Problem solved. Thanks to everyone that responded. I really do appreciate it!!!!
What exactly did you flash? The Mainver error only relates to the kernel IIRC.
The only thing I tried to flash was the custom recovery after I accidentally ran the ota update with the custom recovery still on my phone. When I should've flashed back to the stock recovery before accepting the update. And now I can't get into custom recovery. When I try to reflash armon ra it won't take. I've lost root access even though I have superuser still on my phone.

how are you trying to reflash Amon Ra ? , what recovery do you boot into ? As long as your still unlocked you should be able to flash Amon Ra through Hboot it has nothing to do with root access at that point. Even odder that the OTA flashed through the custom recovery, thought it would error out and not take if it wasn't the stock recovery. Unless you ran Con's Stock rooted, but then you wouldn't have an issue with superuser or root access.
Should be able to flash stock recovery through fastboot relock and RUU then if you really are stuck. Otherwise , no reason you shouldn't be able to reflash Amon Ra and reroot through recovery.
Download THIS
I take it the phone can't boot up at all? Have your tried fastboot flashing the stock kernel?

I'm trying to flash it in hboot as ph98img. And when I go to recovery it seems to go to the stock recovery with the little phone and a green circle but shortly after it turns into the red triangle and phone symbol.
Try flashing the recovery in fastboot. Download the latest version of AmonRa here and extract the recovery-ra-vigor-3.13-gnm.img. Take that file and place it in the same file directory you place the tools to unlock your bootloader (needs to be in the same directory as fastboot.exe).
Put your phone into bootloader and connect to PC and flash the recovery-ra-vigor-3.13-gnm.img in fastboot using the command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-ra-vigor-3.13-gnm.img

It will boot and everything runs fine, I just can't get into custom recovery or install custom recovery. And my apps that need superuser permissions won't be allowed even though I still have superuser installed on the phone.

Nope. It just won't take. I can try it again and tell you exactly what it says as an error if that will help.

Trouble installing TWRP after s-off

I got my phone s-off, but now I am trying to install TWRP through goomanager and it isn't installing the recovery. I'm not sure I am missing a step? Such as super user? It's been awhile since I've installed a ROM on a phone... I'm a bit rusty. When I try and boot recovery after installing twrp, it shows a picture of a phone and a red triangle on the screen? Something isn't working...
Thanks!

Goo Manager requires root access to work. Try going to the TWRP website, find the recovery you want, download it to the root of your external SD card, rename it PJ75IMG.zip (make sure you don't have an extra .zip in the file name) and boot into the bootloader and follow the prompts.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the bootloader have to be unlocked to flash recovery through the bootloader or does S-off trump it being locked?
Once you get recovery loaded you can flash the superuser binary in recovery and you should be set.
The advice is free....the bandwidth, not so much
Did you select open recovery script ?? Also here's the website

[Q] stuck in bootloop tried everything I can find in search.

the phone keeps bootlooping to HTC screen. I can get into bootloader but it will not boot into recovery. I have unlocked bootloader via HTC DEV, flashed twrp recovery via fastboot, attempted to flash boot.img via flashboot, etc. tried to relock and run and RUU but that didn't work either.
Any ideas? bricked?
current status:
S-On (because I can't get to a point to get device recognized by adb for moonshine and Dev-Host is down so I can't download the files for facepalm)
Hboot 2.09
Radio: 1.12.11.1210

What happens when you try to boot to recovery from the bootloader? As far as using a RUU, you're on the latest OTA, so there isn't a RUU for you to use except VipeRUU, but it requires S-off. Furthermore, you'll have to use Moonshine, not Facepalm, to gain S-off once you get your phone up & running.
when I try to boot into recovery from the bootloader it never gets past the htc screen and simply goes straight into a bootloop again.
Can you connect your phone to a PC in fastboot USB mode? It sounds like you need to try and wipe your recovery via fastboot commands, then reinstall recovery. Then follow the instructions in my guide below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2443108
I recommend using MeanBean ROM. It's S-on friendly-just follow the directions in the ROM thread to get it flashed properly.
yes I can connect via fastboot usb. I have already wiped and flashed both TWRP and clockworkmod recoveries several times in an attempt to get it to load into recovery to be able to flash a rom. No joy on any attempt.

Stay away from ClockWorkMod recovery-it doesn't play well on the EVO LTE and isn't supported. It sounds like your recovery partition may have gotten borked. There is a file around here somewhere that will restore it but I can't recall where it is.
couldn't find anything under the search terms "rebult recovery" and "recovery partition"
any ideas on how to find it?
still haven't found any solution
Try doing a full wipe, then flash the ROM
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda app-developers app
PM Zarboz about JTAG. That might be your last resort.
EDIT: Actually, I have an idea. What ROM were you on? Have you tried this?
You'll need the firmware zip from the 3.16 update, which I will upload shortly.
UPDATE: 3.16.651.3 Firmware (thanks to xHausx)
You should be able to push this through fastboot and flash. It *should* normalize your partitions and get the stock recovery back. If that works, you should then be able to flash TWRP and get going again.
Thanks

this is for the sprint one max, not sure what you have but this has the stock recovery that you can re-flash from fastboot, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705215

thanks man i did already tried to install stock recovery in fastboot it didn't work. and i have international version
i want the stock recovery back because i want to get update from htc
ah, i didn't use twrp to flash mine, i went into fastboot oem rebootRUU and flashed it there, my problem with the stock recovery is i can't find one for hboot 2.49, the one for 2.09 flashed, and loaded, but that was it, it would error out, maybe a google search for your t6ul___ version that is stated on your bootloader screen will find you an international one.
